New American Paintings sponsor six juried competitions per year. The forty winners of each competition receive a four-page, full-color spread in New American Paintings. Five of the annual competitions focus on geographic regions (Northeast, South, Midwest, West and Pacific Coast), and the sixth is only open to current Masters of Fine Arts candidates who are attending schools based in the United States, and current year graduates. New American Paintings has a targeted readership of more than ten thousand art collectors, art world professionals and art enthusiasts who have a deep interest in contemporary painting and discovering new artists.

The residency is open to any serious visual artist working in any medium and will take place at St Mary’s of the Lake, the Paulist Fathers summer house located on beautiful Lake George in upstate New York– accessible by car/bus/train. During the residency artists will have ample space and time to work on their own. Each afternoon artists will gather to discuss their work and other topics for one hour followed by dinner. Each artist will be provided with a private room with shared bathrooms and 3 meals daily for $100 per day. Scholarships are available and should be requested in the application.

Attention Northern Michigan Artists! You are invited to submit a sculpture for placement in the Jordan Art Walk exhibit in East Jordan Michigan. Their goal is to integrate works of art into their city’s natural environment that will engage and resonate with their citizens and visitors. Have your art seen by locals and area visitors for years to come while on display in the City of East Jordan’s Memorial and Sportsman’s Parks. Sculptures are in place for three years. There is a stipend of $600.00 for the artists whose works are accepted. Concrete pads will be provided to fit the works of art by the art walk committee. Artists will be responsible for transporting, installing and de-installing their work. Some exemptions may apply.

Cultivate invites applications for its multi-disciplinary La Baldi Residency. Located in the historic village of Montegiovi, Italy, in southern Tuscany, the self-directed international residency is an opportunity to experiment, develop ideas and projects, explore, rejuvenate, research, and investigate the land and culture of this special area. The residency welcomes individuals and collaborative teams.

Artists are invited to enter 2 or 3 innovative artworks of original design that push our understanding about experimental art and design with clay whether explored from an aesthetic, material, conceptual, environmental, scientific, philosophical and/or poetic perspective. The exhibition will show a diverse range of contemporary interpretations of design in clay in 3 dimensions. Fairytale Town invites artists and artist teams residing in the United States to submit their qualifications for the Fairytale Town public art project in Sacramento, CA. The artwork opportunity is for an approximately 20’ x 30’ interactive playset installation for kids aged 1-10 to climb, walk through, and explore.

Applicants do not need to have previous experience creating playsets to be qualified for the project. However, past experience must show outdoor installations of a similar scale to this project.

Indiana University Kokomo invites you to participate in their 2023-2025 juried, on-loan, outdoor sculpture exhibit on the Kokomo, Indiana campus. Selected artists must be willing to enter into an Art Loan Agreement with IU Kokomo and will be awarded an honorarium of $2000 per piece. IU Kokomo is a regional campus of Indiana University with a vibrant arts program and extensive art collection. They have installed sculpture pads on our beautiful Kokomo campus to display public sculptures on a rotating basis. The third installment of this exhibit will be from July 2025 through July 2027.

Numerous visual artistic elements are crucial to theatre, including set design, costume design and creation, character development, props, sound, lights, and orchestration. Arts Benicia, a non-profit art gallery in Benicia, CA, invites artists, musicians, thespians, and theatre enthusiasts to submit artwork, created music, or multimedia, related to the theatre experience, for a juried and curated exhibition. This exhibition aims to showcase artists' interpretations of the various visual arts components within the theatre world.

The Enoch Pratt Free Library Artist & Writer in Residence Program offers a unique opportunity for visual artists and writers to engage with the community through creative projects, workshops, and public events. The 2025 Fraser Mountain Mural Festival is presented by the Town of Fraser and the Fraser Public Arts Committee (Fraser PAC). August 1-3, 2025, artists will compete for awards and recognition by producing their best work on 8ft x 8ft primed panels. Laboratorio del Eco accepts applications from international working contemporary artists of live-performance disciplines (such as sound art, music, dance, performance, poetry, acting, etc.). They are particularly interested in projects that have a practical & experimental approach that engages critically with topics such as technology & ecology, the science/art dialogue, body & language, and the social/natural environment of Valparaiso. During your time there you are expected to develop new work, which you’ll be invited to present at their Club de lo Efimero. They will also help you organise other opportunities to present your work in other instances in Valparaiso and/or other Chilean cities. Their facilities have an emphasis on sound-based work and they also welcome and host other approaches.

Remagine Art Prize is an environmental art prize dedicated to bringing awareness of environmental challenges such as waste and consumption. Held in partnership with the Hornsby Art Society since 2009, Remagine Art Prize is delivered and sponsored by Hornsby Shire Council. This year’s theme ‘RE:THINK TO RE:PURPOSE’ refers to the decisions we make each day about how much waste is created, and how materials can be reused to help save precious natural resources. The extraction of raw materials, production, transport, and consumption directly affects the environment, including native wildlife, aquatic species, and birdlife. Artists are asked to submit works that relate to this year’s theme. This non-acquisitive prize is open to Australian residents aged 18 years and over, with total prizemoney of $11,000.

The health of the jewelry industry depends on the continuous flow of new talent and design creativity. It is critical that new artists also hone their business skills in order to effectively manage their small businesses in today's global market. Each summer Halstead awards a grant to a new jewelry designer working primarily in silver. The grand prize consists of $7,500 in start-up capital and $1,000 in merchandise as well as recognition in the industry. Finalists receive a smaller cash prize and help promoting their business. The most valuable reward the winner and finalists receive is a personalized feedback report complied with notes from all of the judges.

"Fraser Valley Arts is excited to announce the 5th Annual Plein Air @ Altitude, taking place Saturday, August 22 – Sunday, August 31. This beloved event has welcomed juried artists from across the country, facilitated the sale of over 80 paintings, and provided a stunning fall painting experience across Grand County, including private ranches, Winter Park Resort, Grand Lake, and Rocky Mountain National Park.

For 2025, the event continues to grow with increased prize amounts, expanded sales opportunities through Fraser Valley Arts events, and the option to bring a studio painting to the show. Art on the Avenue (AOA) is Manitou Springs’ public art program, administered by Creative Alliance Manitou Springs (CRANE). Each year, they display new rotating sculptures, place new murals, and work to increase Manitou’s public art collection. In 2025, CRANE will install 4 sculptures on 2-year contracts, as well as 2 permanent murals.

The St. Tammany Art Association (STAA) announces a call for entries to its 55th Annual National Juried Artists Exhibition: The Summer Show. One of the most diverse exhibitions of contemporary art in the Southeast, the juried competition of invites contemporary artists, ages 18 and up, from across the United States to submit to this year’s open call for submissions.

Dorland Mountain Arts Residency is a beautiful retreat where artists can create in a secluded and protected natural setting. Dorland is located near Temecula Valley Wine Country, about 100 miles south of Los Angeles and sixty miles north of San Diego. The Residency Program provides a secluded working retreat for national and international visual artists, writers, musicians and composers. Residency stays may be as short as one week or as long as two months, based on requests and availability. Individual cottages are complete with WiFi, window AC, good cell phone reception, kitchen, bathroom, workspace, and a covered porch with magnificent mountain, canyon and Temecula Valley views. One cottage includes a Steinway baby grand piano, and another has a Kimball baby grand.

They seek works from mid-career artists who challenge and reimagine Western narratives through a range of media, including painting, printmaking, sculpture, textile, and mixed media. This exhibition aims to disrupt the hyper-masculine, colonialist tropes embedded in the myth of the West by inviting softer, more expansive visions of the frontier — speculative, queer, diasporic, and ecologically attuned.

2025 marks the first year the exhibition will be hosted by the Oklahoma State University Museum of Art. The Cimarron National Works on Paper is a testament to the history of printmaking at OSU, their current educational initiatives, the diverse holdings of works on paper in the OSU Museum of Art’s collection, and an expression of OSU's enduring commitment to works on paper and contemporary practice. $2,000 will be available for purchase awards. Purchased work will be added to Oklahoma State University Museum of Art permanent collection. Awards will be selected by the juror. Oklahoma State University Museum of Art will pay up to $150 of return shipping costs, the balance will be the responsibility of the artist.

The Sacramento County Department of Airports is soliciting Statements of Qualifications And Experience (SOQ&Es) from qualified artists to design, fabricate, and install permanent artworks at the Sacramento International Airport (SMF) as part of the Department’s large-scale capital improvement program known as “SMForward.” SMForward, which includes six major construction projects, represents a historic opportunity to integrate art into the traveler’s experience while reinforcing and contributing to the Sacramento region’s identity. This RFQ&E is a call for multiple artwork opportunities under SMForward’s Concourse B Expansion project.

The 2025 Abbey Mural Prize is juried by members of the National Academy, including both artists and architects. The Abbey Mural Prize supports projects with grants typically ranging from $10,000 to $40,000. Grants are awarded to create or restore public murals, especially those that promote accessibility and serve local audiences. While murals are conventionally defined as paintings or mosaics on a wall, the prize also encourages proposals that broaden and challenge the definition of what a contemporary mural can be.

Whether through developing a kindred association across hundreds of miles over time, or discovering a harmonizing relationship by chance through sharing an exhibition, a studio facility, or a college office, artists connect. And often they develop special bonds supporting, critiquing, challenging, and celebrating each other's works over years and lifetimes, all while maintaining an informal peer relationship. Or maybe, they just maintain a strong affinity for one another's work—one of the best forms of support and critical validation there is, respect by a peer one respects in-turn. Out of respect for this artist-artist relationship they offer BUDDY SYSTEM*, aiming to exhibit paired works of art by artists who share mutual respect and participate in this important peer support system.

Located in the scenic Alentejo region of Southern Portugal, Buinho’s creative hub was established with the invaluable support of a curatorial team boasting over a decade of experience organizing and facilitating various residency initiatives across Portugal. Since its inception in 2016, Buinho has experienced remarkable growth in the number of applications it receives, solidifying its reputation as a highly sought-after artistic residency program. Today, Buinho stands as a prominent European beacon in the realm of artistic residencies due to its unique affiliation with the Fablab, which amplifies creative experimentation opportunities.

The Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolors is hosted annually in August and September by View in Old Forge, NY. The exhibition is open to all artists working in water-based media. This includes transparent and opaque watercolors, casein, egg tempera, gouache, acrylic and ink.

The Town of Danville invites all creative artists to submit works for its 15th Annual Juried Exhibition, Art in Miniature! From sculptures to paintings and sketches, the creativity is endless with miniature art. Applications will open March 3 and this exhibition will be shown in late summer.

The third edition of the Tokyo Biennale is themed "Shall we ‘Sanpo’?” and explores various ways of “Sanpo” – a concept that embraces walking, wandering around, and discovering new perspectives through movement. The “SOCIAL DIVE” AIR OPEN CALL PROGRAM is now calling for projects from around the world to explore this theme of ‘Sanpo’. The mission is to dive into Tokyo (the city) and engage deeply with society (people). “SOCIAL DIVE” involves artists diving into the different areas of Tokyo as part of an art project aimed at discovering both the unique traditions, as well as new values held by the people who live there.
