The Masur Museum of Art began building its collection in 1964 with the very first Juried Competition, when Ida Kohlmeyer, student of Mark Rothko, won first place, and the museum acquired her painting Immanence. Today, the collection houses more than 500 works, including pieces by internationally renowned artists such as Picasso, Renoir, and Rodin. Yet a significant percentage of acquisitions have come directly through the museum’s long history of Juried Competitions. They remain committed to supporting and advancing the work of contemporary artists across the nation through both exhibition and acquisition.

Call for Art: Kindred Visions (DEADLINE: 12/15/25) 2D and 3D artworks will be accepted. Complete applications will include high-quality photos of work as well as the title, media, dimensions, year, price/value, and short artist description of the work as it relates to the themes of Afrofuturism. Themes can include fantasy, alternate history, science fiction, and magic realism as they relate to African diaspora. Artists may only submit 3 works for judging.

The Anderson Center’s Winter Retreat program is a short-term residency during the organization’s off-season for artists and writers seeking concentrated creative time for reflection and the advancement of their personal artistic goals. A Winter Retreat at the Anderson Center is a fee-based opportunity for up to four artists at a time to live in community and fellowship while working on their own projects in the inspiring setting of the historic Tower View Estate.

The Nexus Fund is seeking Project Proposals as a part of their participation in the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Arts Regional Regranting Program. The Nexus Fund underwrites artist-driven projects that engage in risk-taking and experimentation, notably those projects that broaden critical discourse and challenge traditional assumptions. They are seeking proposals for projects – particularly those that are multi-disciplinary and collaborative – that provoke social engagement and center the diverse audiences living and working in Metro Atlanta.* The fund will disburse ten (10), $6,000 grants totaling $60,000.

Priority may be given to projects that highlight remembrance across cultures. The grant must result in a deliverable product, program, or event that is unique to Lakewood Cemetery. All projects will be presented to the public (how and when projects are presented is to be determined by the artist and Lakewood).

JustArt Collective invites contemporary artists to join Collective Voices, a group exhibition celebrating the power of artistic expression and visibility. The ​Crooked Tree Arts Center in Traverse City, Michigan, seeks artists for the national plein air painting festival, Paint Grand Traverse: a plein air affair, now in its seventh year. The Sony Future Filmmaker Awards is a major program providing exceptional opportunities for creators and filmmakers. The shortlisted filmmakers are flown to Los Angeles for an exclusive four-day event to gain unparalleled insight into all aspects of the filmmaking process to advance their careers. After the workshop program the filmmakers will attend an awards ceremony at Sony Pictures Studios.

This International Exhibition will be prominently featured at the Cape Cod Museum of Art in their expansive Hope / McClennen Gallery. All interpretations on the theme of VISUAL VOICE: Freedom to Create will be reviewed by architect, exhibition designer and curator, David Henry Perry. The Town of Ashland’s Public Art Commission invites artists to submit existing outdoor sculptures for consideration for the 2026 “Art in Orbit” on-loan sculpture program. The Alexander Brest Gallery at Jacksonville University (Jacksonville, FL) is seeking exhibition proposals for the upcoming 2026-2027 season. The 2300 square foot gallery space welcomes proposals for 2D, 3D, installation, and video work. Both solo and group exhibition proposals will be considered. The Alexander Brest Gallery, under the direction of Gallery Director Zakriya Rabani, is located at the Linda Berry Stein College of Arts & Sciences on Jacksonville University’s historic campus. JU’s main campus is located in a beautiful riverfront setting in suburban Jacksonville, across the St. Johns River from downtown and just minutes from the Atlantic Ocean. The 240-acre campus includes a half-mile of riverfront, oak-lined paths, and a mix of historic and new campus buildings.

Artists working in all mediums are invited to apply for place-based, immersive artist residencies that connect art, community, and Montana’s diverse landscapes. This year’s CALL FOR ARTISTS offers 13 residency site opportunities across the state—from remote wilderness areas to historic cultural landmarks—artists are provided time, space, and resources to create and engage with local communities. Each individual residency provides studio space, housing, a stipend, and resources to support creative exploration of place. Located in the heart of the arts district of Northeast Minneapolis, the bakery and cafe invites visual artists’ responses to the question, “What does warmth mean to you?” At the intersection between literal heat generated from our bakery ovens and café espresso machine steam wands and the friction emanating from political discourse and issues of justice is the center point for our show’s curation. Playful. Charged. Practical. Electric. What is aflame within you? Where is heat rising in your creative world this winter season? They welcome your artistic responses! This show opens January 9 and will hang for 10 weeks. The Cafe will host an opening night party Friday, January 9, from 5:30–8 PM, with guest DJ Megan O and Cafe Marguerite poet-in-residence, Sara Dovre Wudali. Wine, beer, cocktails and food will be available for sale. All artists will receive a drink ticket. There will be an artist talk at 6pm.

Blue Sky, Oregon Center for the Photographic Arts, is now accepting submissions for the 2026 Pacific Northwest Drawers. Nationally recognized fiber artists Emilie Odeile and Ken Chapin will jury this show based on the theme of “Homage.” They invite fiber artists to submit samples of works that point to something larger than themselves, whether that’s a cultural icon, a personal history, an artistic lineage, a symbolic figure, or the notion of starting over and reinventing oneself.

Media artists from around the world can now enter their work to be considered for the 2026 European Media Art Festival. They welcome current works in the categories Film (experimental short and feature films), Installation (installative, interactive, spatial or sculptural media art works), and Expanded (performances, live events, or workshops). Threshold Gallery is seeking emerging or established artists for the upcoming 2026 exhibit season. The season includes four seven-week exhibit periods open to individual or collaborative artists. Residents stay and create in a quiet art centre and beautiful environment where they can develop their artwork free from accustomed distractions. Farm Studio residency provides three types of working spaces where artists can explore their art and ideas in the rural Rajasthani environment; at the Farm Studio indoor studios, the outdoor desert and farm environments, and in Andore Village. Collaboration and experimentation is encouraged. Relationships form between the artists coming from different countries and varied social, cultural, and artistic backgrounds. Many exciting exchanges and dialogues among artists take place, including scheduled artist talks, presentations, works in progress showings, etc.

Beam Center seeks design proposals for an ambitious public artwork that will be brought to life through collaborations between youth, Beam Camp staff and the selected proposer. Projects will be realized by a community of more than 100 young people at Beam Camp in July 2026.
