Wharton Esherick Museum’s 31st Annual Juried Woodworking Exhibition, invites you to think about renewal and how it exists in your artistic life. Have you made an artwork that represents a moment of personal, professional, or ideological renewal? When have you transformed a material, giving it new life in the process? What objects facilitate moments of renewal, restoration, or caretaking? Is there a way to renew meaning from the past through artwork that’s wholly contemporary? With these initial prompts, we encourage applicants to think about this idea broadly and hope that you’ll submit entries across the spectrum of thematic approaches (so long as they contain wood in some way).

The City of Pompano Beach seeks an artist or artist team to design and install a significant horizontal sculpture at the southeast end of Pompano Beach Community Park, along Federal Highway. The artwork should be whimsical, surreal, or symbolic of movement, excluding kinetic elements. The artist is responsible for incorporating up-lighting and constructing the foundation.

The Hugo Burge Foundation is offering free studios to emerging makers for a period of 12 months. The studios are located in historic buildings set in the beautiful landscape of the Scottish Borders. Springboard tenants will join a larger creative community, including potters, silversmiths, chair-makers, sculptors, and artists visiting on monthly residencies. Tenants are expected to contribute to this community during their time, participating in Open Studios, social events, and offering talks or workshops where appropriate. Affordable accommodation for up to two tenants is available at nearby Fogo Cottage.

Jackson Hole Still Works invites artists to submit original artwork for their annual "Spirit of Wyoming" competition. The winning piece will be featured on their vodka bottle label for one year, and the artist will receive a $2,500 prize. Eight finalists will be selected by a jury and showcased during a Virtual Voting Party via Jackson Hole Still Works' social media platforms from January 22-24, 2025. The public will vote to determine the grand prize winner. The original winning artwork will be auctioned to benefit the Wyoming Arts Council.

The Cultural Center of Cape Cod invites artists to submit works for "Botanica 2025," an event where art and nature converge in a five-course dining experience. Selected artworks will be featured during the dinner and in a month-long salon exhibition. The event includes an artist meet-up, VIP cocktail hour, and a luxurious dinner, providing opportunities for artists to connect with collectors and art enthusiasts.

Soho Photo Gallery's 26th International Krappy Kamera Competition seeks extraordinary photographs created with basic equipment, emphasizing the artistry over the sophistication of the camera. Acceptable cameras include those with "lousy" lenses, such as Holga, Diana, Ansco, and pinhole cameras. Photographers may also modify non-Krappy cameras by using Krappy lenses (e.g., pinhole body cap or Holga-type lens). Cell phones, disposables, and point-and-shoot cameras are ineligible. The competition encourages creativity and the unique aesthetic that these cameras produce

Nawat Fes offers funded residencies in the ancient medina of Fes, Morocco to U.S. and international creators in multiple disciplines. Hosted by the American Language Center Fes / Arabic Language Institute in Fez, a member of the American Cultural Association, the initiative engages art to cultivate understanding among multifaceted cultures through the exchange of ideas.Nawat Fes hosts two artist residents at one time for funded residencies of two months. They host international creators in multiple disciplines, including Visual and Performance Art, Music, and Literature. Artists receive a stipend of approximately $1200 and have access to multilingual staff support and opportunities for engagement with the wider community of Fes.

The South Arts Southern Prize and State Fellowships acknowledge, support, and celebrate the highest quality artistic work being created in the American South. The program is open to individual artists living in the South Arts region: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. South Arts is committed to practices and funding that create greater cultural equity, represent the diversity of artistic expression of our region, are inclusive of diverse voices and artistic expression, and are accessible to everyone. The cohort of nine-state fellows will be selected through a two-tiered selection process by a national jury. A second national jury will select the Southern Prize Winner and Finalist.

All artists 18 and over are invited to submit up to three digital images of original artwork. Original works in oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, charcoal, pencil, photography or a mixture of any of the above media are acceptable. Works previously exhibited in the Heartland Artist Exhibition are not eligible for entry.

Accepted artwork must closely represent the quality of the digital images to be included in the exhibition. All work must be matted, framed and wired for hanging; clip frames will not be accepted. Maximum size of the outside frame measurement is 40 horizontal by 40 vertical inches. The Tim Murphy Art Gallery is located inside the Merriam Community Center, please use discretion regarding subject matter (no nudes).

Women & Their Work seeks innovative, contemporary art that breaks new ground in form, content, and ideas. Selected artists are encouraged to create new work for their exhibition; previously exhibited work in Austin will not be accepted. The gallery space is approximately 1,700 square feet with 12' high ceilings, track lighting, and two moveable walls. Projectors, media players, and sound equipment are available.

In order to be able to slow down life, they believe it is worth breaking routines from time to time – this is why artist-in-residencies have spread as a way of enhancing creativity. The notion of the AIR could be expanded by not having artists exclusively at the specific location, but enabling them to mix with academic researchers. They believe heterogeneity always helps, thus, the more people could broaden their comprehensions of their worlds, the better for humankind!
Their goal is to host, in this hybridised form of staying, people who are ready to leave the routines of their home behind and spend time in our company thinking, working, relaxing, discussing in-house.

The Luminarts Visual Arts Fellowship supports excellence in visual arts, including drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture, and moving images. Fellows receive a $10,000 award, eligibility for future funding, and professional development for a decade. A residency for social justice, human rights and the arts in Ithaca, NY. This residency honors the legacy of anthropologist Dr. Sue-Je Lee Gage, pioneering scholar of Amerasians in South Korea, change maker, beloved teacher and mentor whose talents and interests spanned the fine arts, the humanities, and the social sciences. Scholars, artists, writers, and activists are invited to apply for short-term residencies in her former home in Ithaca, New York, to pursue projects related to the passions and interests that motivated Dr. Gage's work for social justice, human rights and the arts on a broad scale.

The Roger Tory Peterson Institute in Jamestown, NY, invites artists to submit work for our fourth annual juried exhibition of Art that Matters to the Planet. The Aperture Portfolio Prize is an annual international competition aimed at identifying trends in contemporary photography and highlighting artists whose work deserves greater recognition. Judges seek innovative bodies of work that have not been widely seen in major publications or exhibition venues. The competition is open exclusively to Aperture magazine print subscribers. VisArts invites emerging curators to collaborate with an experienced mentoring curator to develop and present an exhibition at the Kaplan Gallery in fall 2025. This year-long program, starting in January 2025, offers practical, hands-on experience in a community arts organization, focusing on curatorial research, exhibition design, and public programming.

The International Watermedia Exhibition (IWE) is one of two juried exhibitions held annually, the other being the Annual Members Exhibit (AME). Whereas AME is open to only WAS-H members, IWE showcases the excellence of watermedia artists from as far away as Australia, Bulgaria, China, Germany, India and the Netherlands. Selected by a renowned juror and judge, the paintings receive exposure in a month-long, open-to-the-public gallery exhibit as well as an online exhibit that lasts through the end of the year. Winning participants receive substantial cash awards.

In celebration of Nude Nite's 20th anniversary, the 2025 theme is Nostalgia—a journey through memory. Artists are invited to reflect on the moments, people, and places that have shaped them. Nostalgia is felt in the body: in the lines on our faces, the way we move, and the stories our skin tells over time.

Artists are encouraged to explore how nostalgia shapes identity and the human experience, whether through the vulnerability of the nude form, memory, or the body as a vessel of time and history. While the theme serves as inspiration, Nude Nite embraces a range of perspectives and creative expressions, inviting artists to interpret or diverge from it as they choose.

Passepartout Photo Prize aims to support the development of talented photographers from all over the world by awarding 1,000 euros in monetary prizes every year, organizing exhibition in a fine art gallery in the heart of Rome, publication in their partners’ magazines, and providing other opportunities for international exposure.

Yosemite Renaissance 40 is an annual competition and exhibition that encourages artists to create diverse interpretations of Yosemite National Park and the surrounding Sierra Nevada region. The exhibition aims to inspire new generations to understand, preserve, and protect wild lands and natural places through art. The show opens on March 15, 2025, at Yosemite Gateway Art Center in Oakhurst, CA, and then travels to other art centers in California through January 2026.

Are you an artist in need of critical medical, mental health, or dental treatment? The Rauschenberg Medical Emergency Grants program provides one-time grants of up to $5,000 for recent, unexpected medical, dental, and mental health emergencies experienced by artists anywhere in the US in financial need who are creating in the visual arts, film/video/electronic/digital arts, or choreography. Privacy is guaranteed. Cycle 28 is open through January 14 for emergencies that occurred June 1, 2024 and after.

The Holy Art Gallery is thrilled to announce an open call for submissions to their upcoming exhibition in West London, running from January 31 to February 3, 2025. Anderson Center at Tower View provides residencies of two to four weeks’ duration from May through October each year to enable artists, writers, musicians, and performers of exceptional promise and demonstrated accomplishment to create, advance, or complete work. There are typically 5 residents at the Anderson Center at a time, and the organization hosts approximately 35-40 residents each year. The program is one of the largest of its kind in the Upper Midwest. Since the Center opened in 1995, over 900 artists from 45 states and 40 countries have participated in the program.

The Grants for Artists program fosters Oklahoma’s visual artistic creative excellence. The grants committee supports the mission of OVAC and scores submissions based on the merit of each application according to the pertinent grant category and its associated criteria. Grants for Artists help individual Oklahoma artists create visual art for public presentation, develop their professional practices, and lead community projects. Grants are open to artists working in visual-based mediums, curation, and art writing.

Sponsored by the Inter-Society Color Council (ISCC), COLOR SHIFTS is part of the Color Impact 2025: Color as Communication conference at the Rochester Institute of Technology in upstate New York. The ISCC advances the knowledge of color related to art, science, industry, and design. Each of these fields enriches the others, furthering the general objective of color education. This is a virtual exhibition. It will be displayed at the conference and on the website from June 17- November 30, 2025. ISCC are seeking creative expressions from across the spectrum of media and professions. The Bryn Du Art Show is an annual juried exhibition held at the beautiful Bryn Du Mansion. Just east of Columbus, this historic Federal-style mansion has dominated the landscape of the 52-acre estate in the charming Village of Granville, Ohio since 1905. This year’s 21st Annual Art Show will be held from March 7-29, 2025 featuring current works of visual art. Ucross strives to provide a respectful, comfortable, and productive environment, freeing artists from the pressures and distractions of daily life. Each year, they provide residencies to approximately 115 individuals. Residencies range from two weeks to six weeks in length. At any one time, there are up to ten individuals in residence, typically four writers, four visual artists, and two composers. Ucross provides each artist with living accommodations, meals, work space, and uninterrupted time so that the artists can focus on their creative process. Residents are responsible for providing their own working materials and for their travel to Sheridan, Wyoming. There is no charge for a residency. The residency program is open to visual artists, writers, composers, choreographers, interdisciplinary artists, performance artists, and collaborative teams.

The Island Press Artist Research Fellowship is a biennial residency open to artists who are in any stage of their career, who are under-recognized, and whose voices reveal significant potential. Paramount to the review of each proposal is an assessment of the quality of the artistic work. Island Press welcomes the opportunity to support projects that embody diverse perspectives. Candidates are asked to submit project proposals for a one-week residency at Island Press to conduct practice-based research in print media and/or multiples. The fellowship results in artifacts that stem from the artist’s proposal including, but not limited to, the creation and edition of fine art prints, with the expectation that ideas and projects evolve through experimentation and making during the residency. 

The Jentel Artist Residency Program offers dedicated individuals a supportive environment in which to further their creative development.  Here artists and writers experience unfettered time to allow for thoughtful reflection on the creative process in a setting that preserves the agricultural and historical integrity of the land. Solitude is balanced with opportunity to form a community. Jentel awards residencies to artists and writers who are focused and serious about their intent, who may have proven themselves by publication or solo exhibition or who may not necessarily be well known, but who have developed a personal vision or personal voice in their work. The program welcomes visual artists in all media and writers in fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry.

Photographers are invited to submit their work for a juried exhibition celebrating the evocative and multifaceted theme of "Beyond the Mirror". This competition seeks photographic interpretations that explore mirrors both literally and metaphorically. All creative angles are welcomed, from reflections in glass to introspective self-portraits, symbolic imagery, or abstract compositions that contemplate identity, perception, or the duality of human experience. Show how "mirrors" open a window to deeper realities.


Accepted entries will be shown in an online exhibition from February 1 through March 31, and then archived on the gallery's website.
The First Place entry will be offered a free Solo Exhibit in the gallery's Featured section.

Digital badges will be awarded to all participants and Certificates will be given to the First, Second and Third place entries plus the two Honorable Mentions. The exhibition will be promoted on Decagon Gallery's social media sites, email blasts and other online sites.

Monson Arts’ residency program supports emerging and established artists and writers by providing them time and space to devote to their creative practices. During each of our 2-week and 4-week programs throughout the year, a cohort of 5 artists and 5 writers are invited to immerse themselves in small town life at the edge of Maine’s North Woods and focus intensely on their work within a creative and inspiring environment. They receive a private studio, private bedroom in shared housing, all meals, and $500 stipend ($250 for 2-week programs).
