Fibers of My Being is an exhibition focusing on the intersection of fiber art and mental health wellness. Fiber art can be therapeutic- allowing the practitioner to slow down, enter a flow state, and calm their nervous system. Fiber art has continually been incorporated into community, connection, and protest. Artists are invited to submit work reflecting on mental health, belonging, and well-being. Fibers of My Being will be curated by Chloe Russell-Chang. All submissions must include fibers or textiles. Sculpture, installation, wearable art, as well as hanging and floor works will all be considered. Work must have been completed in the past 5 years. Notification Date: April 11th. Whether it is a teacher, a family member, a friend, a community servant or leader, mentors play a crucial role in fostering growth, inspiration, and support. For this exhibition, they seek photographs that embody the spirit of dreaming—images that are deeply personal, ethereal, mysterious, or even unsettling. They invite work that captures the blurred line between reality and fiction, bringing forth the magic, wonder, and complexity of the mind’s eye. All photographic processes and interpretations are welcome, from surreal digital composites to dreamlike film captures and abstract experimental works.
The juror will select up to 35 images for exhibition in their Middlebury, Vermont gallery and another 40 images for their Online Gallery. All 75 images will be reproduced in the exhibition catalog and remain permanently on their website, and be promoted on social media with links to photographer’s URL.

The Woodman Family Foundation Housing Stability Grant for Artists (WFF HSG) provides grants of $30,000, distributed over three years, to NYC-based visual artists in need who are seeking support for stable housing. In its inaugural cycle, the WFF HSG will award grants to five artists. The WFF Housing Stability Grant for Artists is offered in recognition of the increasing unaffordability of rental housing in New York City, and the housing insecurity it creates for artists. Its goal is to improve artists’ housing stability, through a $30,000 grant that is distributed over three years. The WFF HSG hopes that recipients will be able to remain in, or find, reliable and stable housing for at least three years, thereby allowing them to focus on their creative practice and build more sustainable careers.

The exhibition is inspired by bell hooks’ All About Love: New Visions and her introspection surrounding love. The show calls for artists to submit work that displays living in and with love. As hooks describes: “To truly love we must learn to mix various ingredients – care, affection, recognition, respect, commitment, and trust, as well as honest and open communication.” (hooks, 5). Artists are encouraged to interpret the meaning of love in their life and submit work that they find exemplifies their personal experiences of love; whether it be in the form of self-love, friendship, community, spirituality, parenthood, the love of making art or other. FMR – Festival for Art in Digital Contexts and Public Spaces is a biennial festival showcasing artistic processes and positions that reflect the ephemeral nature of the digitally connected present.
A prolog to FMR 26 will take place on June 6, 2025, during which the selected works from this Open Call will be presented in an early-stage form on-site in Linz.
FMR 26 itself will take place from June 3 to 7, 2026, around the Schlossberg in Linz, covering the eastern foothills of the Römerberg, the streets surrounding the Linzer Schloss (Linz Castle), and selected uphill road sections.

They are using this exhibition to bring more public and medical awareness to Long COVID and create a sense of community among Long COVID survivors. 2020 changed the course of many people’s lives in the US and around the world with the devastating COVID-19 pandemic. Long COVID or long-haul COVID is a group of health problems persisting or developing after an initial period of COVID-19 infection. Many artists and creatives have been affected by this. So with the opportunity to create artwork about their experiences, they welcome those who have been affected by Long COVID or who are still living with it, to apply to this exhibition.
