For over 60 years La Romita School has been hosting workshops and retreats from its home, a 16th Century monastery nestled among olive groves in Umbria. The region is an extraordinary destination for artists, photographers, and poets, with inspiration to be found in local scenery, history, and culture. Time at La Romita gives artists time and space to focus on their art in a serene atmosphere, with opportunities to explore and adventure, without most of the logistical distractions that come with travel abroad. Ordinarily our workshops are led by instructors in a particular medium, but this retreat will instead cater to those artists who just want to get out and capture their experiences with paintbrush, pen, or lens.

Carolinas Rehabilitation is looking for local and regional artists (North and South Carolina) to submit pieces to be hung in their newly renovated, high-traffic space. Every three months the gallery will be filled with new art, chosen by a committee. The artists chosen for each time period will be able to display 3 pieces of art. They are looking for art that creates a positive and welcome distraction for their patients and visitors.

This is a busy lobby and connects to their flagship hospital. The campus is 4 million square feet. This is a fantastic opportunity for local artists to showcase their talent while gaining tremendous exposure. Proposals for your submissions should inspire positive reflection with a focus on community; health, hope and healing.

The Center for Contemporary Printmaking (CCP) Residency Program offers Artists-in-Residence the unique opportunity to live and work inside the recently remodeled Helen Frankenthaler Printmaking Cottage. Within this space artists can produce a body of work in a supportive atmosphere that fosters creative growth and development, for traditional as well as innovative printmaking techniques. The intention of the residency is to offer artists one to two weeks of uninterrupted, 24/7 time and privacy in a well-equipped studio with onsite living accommodations. This residency has proven to be an ideal opportunity for experimentation and collaboration. CCP strives to advance outcomes from the residency that stimulate original and inventive work that the artist might not otherwise have attempted absent these amenities.

Fusion Art invites submissions for the Urban Landscapes 2025 Art Competition for an online exhibition during the month of January 2025.

For this competition, both 2D and 3D artists, worldwide, are invited to submit their best art depicting cityscapes – cities, towns, urban scenes and/or any related metropolitan subjects. All artists, regardless of location or experience, are invited to submit their best representational and/or abstract art and photography. This is the 9th annual cityscapes art competition that the gallery has held.

The Adelaide Perry Prize for Drawing, valued at $25,000.00, is an acquisitive prize. Finalists in the competition are also eligible to be considered for The People’s Choice Award, valued at $2,000.00 (non-acquisitive). To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the event, a second acquisitive prize, the PLC Sydney Prize for Arts Education, valued at a minimum of $5,000, will be awarded in 2025.

Artists who are interested in creating artwork that celebrates the sacred nature of Día de los Muertos (DDLM) are invited to submit proposals to create an original artwork for the 2025 community DDLM celebrations. Cheyenne’s DDLM celebrations offer public places to celebrate and a variety of opportunities to learn about the history, traditions, and significance of DDLM.

The Cheyenne Día de los Muertos celebrations are family-friendly and inclusive of all people. Artwork must be appropriate for children. Artists are encouraged to reflect on their own cultural and traditional connections to DDLM when creating their artwork. Artists should be members of a community that celebrates DDLM.

"The William King Museum of Art, located in Abingdon, Virginia, is thrilled to announce Unleashing the Wolf, its inaugural triennial outdoor sculpture exhibition. Six custom works will be selected by two jurors to be displayed on the museum's campus for a period of five years. Abingdon, often referred to as ""Wolf Hills,"" is steeped in wolf folklore, which serves as the inspiration for the exhibition's theme. All entries must align with the theme of Unleashing the Wolf.

Each selected artwork will be placed on an 8’x8’ designated concrete pad on the museum grounds. Sculptures must be free-standing and durable, capable of withstanding fluctuating temperatures and outdoor elements, as they will be featured in a long-term public display. Sculptures will be on loan for a period of 5 years, beginning on May 1, 2026 and ending on May 1, 2029"

The Neon Heater is a contemporary artist-run space in Findlay, OH with monthly exhibitions of conceptual and installation-based works, contemporary photography and painting trends, video and new media. The Neon Heater are currently seeking proposals for solo artist and small group exhibitions exploring contemporary issues such as identity, the climate, the socio-political landscape, geopolitics, speculative futures, magic and spirituality, fresh starts, and anything in-between that explores, critiques or promotes the present moment.

Arts Letters & Numbers is a year-round Artist Residency providing a creative sanctuary in the historic Faith Mills Complex in rural Upstate New York. The residency fosters an environment of creative urgency and collaboration, offering inspiring spaces like a warm Victorian home, a white barn, and textile mills turned into studios, all surrounded by woods, lakes, and opportunities for connection. Residents have the freedom to shape their workspace and rhythms while engaging in shared meals, bonfire conversations, and community programming, including open studios, workshops, exhibitions, and more. With seasonal residencies lasting 1 to 12 weeks, the program welcomes artists to explore their work and contribute to the inclusive dialogue through proposed projects such as performances or lectures. 

The Robert A. Peck Gallery at Central Wyoming College is accepting applications for a steampunk-themed exhibition titled "Retro Tomorrow." Steampunk is a design style inspired by Victorian-era industrialism, characterized by elements such as gears, pipes, machinery, Victorian clothing, mechanical creatures, and other imagery from the industrial era.

The City of Merriam’s Public Art Committee is seeking qualifications from professional artists or artist teams for a public art project on the Merriam Community Center campus in Merriam, Kansas. This project aims to beautify and transform the entrance to this public space from the parking structure, specifically on the exterior stairs and/or interior stairwell. The goal is to create a more welcoming and memorable experience at this popular community destination.

The City of Olathe is seeking large-scale, three-dimensional sculptures or temporary art installations for its Outdoor Sculpture Series. This initiative aims to enhance the city's identity, activate public spaces, and foster community connections through art. Selected sculptures will be displayed throughout Olathe for one year, with a preference for colorful and interactive pieces.

The Artist in Residence (AIR) Program at Recology King County offers a unique opportunity for artists to expand their studio practice by working with reusable resources. Modeled after the San Francisco program, it encourages conservation of natural resources and inspires artists to consider consumption habits, waste disposal, and sustainability. The four-month residency provides artists with a stipend, access to discarded materials, administrative support, and culminates in a public exhibition. Artists are expected to create a body of work using reclaimed materials and engage with the community through their art.

McColl Center's Artist-in-Residence Program is an internationally acclaimed program that serves as a catalyst for artistic growth for emerging and mid-career artists. Artists-in-Residence receive private housing adjacent to McColl Center, a large-scale private studio in our historic building in Uptown Charlotte, curatorial guidance, marketing and PR support, and a generous stipend. While in residency, artists have the freedom to fully focus on artistic research, exploration, and creation while also engaging with McColl Center’s Igniters community and the local creative sector. An Artist-in-Residence at McColl Center is a moment to think big, take risks with your creative practice, and explore ideas within the context of Charlotte.

Our Jackson Home, in partnership with the City of Jackson, is inviting artist teams of 2 to sign up for Design Dash - a new public art design challenge that will result in one team getting $11,000 to install downtown’s newest mural.

Seeking inventive artworks that explore the form and conceptual possibilities of the book, including printed and linear, hand-crafted and tactile, abstract and questioning, edition and one-of-a-kind interpretations of what a book is and can be. They are curious about artists’ books, altered books, sculptural books, book objects, and zines. They encourage artists to consider surprising solutions that can unfold on the wall, unfurl from the ceiling, or sprawl on the floor.

A Saltonstall residency is a small community. They strive to provide a quiet, inviting, respectful, and nurturing community for creative individuals looking for uninterrupted time to focus on their craft.

There are just five individuals in residence at a time: one poet, one playwright or screenwriter, one photographer or filmmaker, and two visual artists. Each group of five arrives and departs at the same time.

The City of Petoskey is seeking submissions for a public artwork to be installed in Sunset Park, located on the shores of Little Traverse Bay. The artwork should engage the spirit of the site, be safe for public interaction, and enhance visitors' experiences in all seasons without obstructing the spectacular view. The scope of the project includes all aspects from conceptualization to installation, with the city providing concrete bases, lighting, and landscape preparation as needed.

The City of Loveland's Art in Public Places program invites Colorado artists to submit original two-dimensional artworks for a one-year on-loan exhibition at the Loveland Public Library’s Central Galleria. This initiative aims to promote regional artists through public display and provides opportunities for artwork sales. Selected pieces will also inspire collaborative poetry from local poets, enhancing the exhibit's depth and community engagement.

In celebration of Nude Nite's 20th anniversary, the 2025 theme is Nostalgia—a journey through memory. Artists are invited to reflect on the moments, people, and places that have shaped them. Nostalgia is felt in the body: in the lines on our faces, the way we move, and the stories our skin tells over time.

Artists are encouraged to explore how nostalgia shapes identity and the human experience, whether through the vulnerability of the nude form, memory, or the body as a vessel of time and history. While the theme serves as inspiration, Nude Nite embraces a range of perspectives and creative expressions, inviting artists to interpret or diverge from it as they choose.

"Being Seen" is a juried exhibition hosted by TAG/The Artists Gallery, aiming to showcase unique artistic expressions without limitations on style, inspiration, or media. The exhibition seeks engaging, masterfully executed, perplexing, or uniquely beautiful works, allowing artists to present their creations in a quality gallery setting.

The McKnight Foundation and the Indigenous Roots Cultural Arts Center of St. Paul have partnered to launch the first-ever McKnight Artist Fellowship for culture bearers. The McKnight Culture Bearers Fellowship will support three culture bearers who practice sacred and healing lifeways and share cultural art practices across generations. Fellows will receive a $25,000 unrestricted award and public recognition in support of their cultural practice.

The Interdisciplinary Residency Programme 2025 is open to those working across the arts, who have urgent projects to address, or require time to focus on a specific area of development in their work. The programme is open to applications from National and International artists, researchers and creative practitioners working across all art forms. This can include, but is not limited to, writers, musicians, architects, producers, dancers, choreographers, curators, designers, educators and researchers.

The Interdisciplinary Residency is an opportunity to spend two weeks of highly focused time with peers working in a broad range of practices and can be a test bed for new ideas and work.

The Honeywell Center's Clark Gallery is hosting its Annual Fine Art Exhibition, inviting artists to submit original works in painting, drawing, and other art forms (excluding photography). The gallery, located in Wabash, Indiana, showcases a diverse range of artistic expressions and provides a platform for artists to engage with the community

The University of Wyoming Art Museum invites submissions for its 50th Annual Juried Student Exhibition. This year's theme, "Sense of Place," encourages works that explore the relationship between people and their environments. The exhibition offers students a professional platform to showcase their art in a museum setting. Juror Jenene Nagy, an artist and curator from Riverside, California, will select the pieces for display. Works not chosen for the main exhibition will be featured in the Salon des Refusés, organized by the Student Art League.

This residency program is designed for fine artists working across discipline, medium and platform. Through online platforms, it aims to deliver a robust, global residency experience. The goal of The Artist Residency Project is to create an inclusive online space where artists can thrive, nurture their practice and build an active, engaged community. Faculty will conduct remote studio visits and discuss each participant's work on an individual basis, as well as facilitate group critiques and reading groups. Alongside these visits, daily activities and ways to connect will keep participants engaged with their community of artists, and a cohort of professional mentors spanning the fields of art, design and contemporary practice.

Woman Made Gallery seeks entries in all media by women and non-binary artists worldwide for its 26th International Open, on view in March 2025. Juried by artist and educator, Savneet K Talwar, this open theme encourages entries in any media that explore or challenge conceptual and material boundaries. Please submit up to three images of your work in any media. A general artist statement and short bio are required.

The Hugo Burge Foundation is offering free studios to emerging makers for a period of 12 months. The studios are located in historic buildings set in the beautiful landscape of the Scottish Borders. Springboard tenants will join a larger creative community, including potters, silversmiths, chair-makers, sculptors, and artists visiting on monthly residencies. Tenants are expected to contribute to this community during their time, participating in Open Studios, social events, and offering talks or workshops where appropriate. Affordable accommodation for up to two tenants is available at nearby Fogo Cottage.

Jackson Hole Still Works invites artists to submit original artwork for their annual "Spirit of Wyoming" competition. The winning piece will be featured on their vodka bottle label for one year, and the artist will receive a $2,500 prize. Eight finalists will be selected by a jury and showcased during a Virtual Voting Party via Jackson Hole Still Works' social media platforms from January 22-24, 2025. The public will vote to determine the grand prize winner. The original winning artwork will be auctioned to benefit the Wyoming Arts Council.

Gatton Park seeks artists to design and paint a mural on a vintage R.J. Corman boxcar, measuring approximately 1,725 square feet. This boxcar will serve as the primary outdoor structure for the park's food and beverage services. The mural should be site-specific, engaging, and sensitive to the historic landscape of the park. The project budget ranges from $55,000 to $60,000, covering the artist's fee, materials, and related expenses. Finalists will receive an additional $1,000 upon submission of a complete site-specific proposal. A travel stipend of up to $700 is available for finalists conducting a site visit during the proposal phase.

The Vera List Center for Art and Politics invites applications for its 2025–2027 Fellowships, focusing on the theme "Matter of Intelligence." The two-year, non-residential fellowships support artists, writers, scholars, and activists whose work critically engages with this theme. Fellows receive a $25,000 stipend, curatorial and professional development support, and access to the Vera List Center's resources. Projects should explore intelligence as a subject with tangible, material implications, considering its manifestations through human cognition, natural processes, or artificial systems.

The Kavanagh Gallery at Fine Line Creative Arts Center invites artists to submit original 2-D and 3-D artworks created using a limited palette of red, yellow, blue, black, and white. This exhibition aims to explore the creative possibilities within these foundational colors. Selected works will be displayed in the gallery, and all pieces must be available for sale during the exhibition.
