Colors of Humanity Art Gallery invites artists to submit work for its online exhibition, running April 1-30, 2025. Open to artists 18 and older, the show focuses on the human figure, portraiture, and innate human characteristics—thoughts, emotions, and behaviors unaffected by culture. Juried by Janelle Cogan, the exhibition offers a cash prize for Best in Show. A portion of entry fees (10%) will support Your Safe Haven, a nonprofit in Bedford County, PA, assisting victims of serious crimes and their families

The Soma Midwest Film Fest, presented by the UNL Dance Alumni Endowment, is a unique platform for Midwest filmmakers and beyond to showcase their work to a broader audience on April 19th, 2025. This virtual event celebrates filmmakers who emphasize the body and its significance in conveying meaning, as "soma" translates to "body" in Greek. They prioritize submissions from Midwest-affiliated filmmakers but warmly welcome participation from the wider community. Films should explore broader themes of identity, challenge conventions, venture into new territories, and push past perceived limitations. They aim to honor the industrious, persevering spirit of the land and people who have called the Midwest home. They strive to make SMFF a supportive resource for both emerging and established filmmakers.

The Emerald Art Center announces their 19th Annual Emerald Spring Painting Exhibition 2025, a fine art painting competition with $5,000 plus in Cash Awards. Best of Show $1,500; Gold Medal $1,000; Silver Medal $700; Bronze $500, People's Choice Award $250 and others to be announced. This exhibition was conceived to recognize and reward excellence in fine art from all over the United States.

As a partnership between Bumbershoot and Muckleshoot Indian Tribe, Cannonball Arts is dedicated to creating space and opportunities for Native artists and craftspeople throughout the Pacific Northwest. Their lobby will host a 30 foot long by 12 foot wide platform designed to construct traditional dugout canoes, allowing pedestrians and art center visitors alike to watch and learn canoe carving from tree to sea. They welcome Native artists to use their lobby as a studio to carve, construct and paint handmade canoes and provide a $5,000.00 grant to participating artist teams.

Professional Basics grants fund up to $500 and are for the essentials of an art practice such as quality artwork samples, display/framing, shipping, travel to professional events, website development, etc. Applications are evaluated by measuring the quality of the proposed project, ability to complete project, and relevance based on portfolio.

The Edward F. Albee Foundation maintains the William Flanagan Memorial Creative Persons Center (better known as "The Barn") in Montauk, Long Island, New York, as a residence for writers and visual artists of all media. The Center is open year-round (with the exception of December, when it is closed for general maintenance and holidays), and can accommodate four creative persons at a time. Residencies are for calendar months only. The standards for admission are, simply, talent and need. Located approximately two miles from the center of Montauk and the Atlantic Ocean, "The Barn" rests in a secluded knoll which offers privacy and a peaceful atmosphere.

Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute invites all artists with disabilities worldwide to submit artwork to participate in the 2025 Art of Possibilities Art Show & Sale. The Art Show has a rich tradition of exhibiting and selling the creative artwork of inspiring artists with physical and cognitive disabilities. More than 500 pieces are reviewed each year in six categories: Graphics, oils and acrylics, watercolors, mixed media, photography and sculpture and more than $4,600 in awards will be presented. All work must be original. Artists are limited to entering a maximum of four works and all art must be for sale.

Pittsburgh Seen a multi-platform online gallery supporting/promoting early to mid-career artists via thematic exhibitions. Pittsburgh Seen are currently accepting submissions that explore Contemporary Portraiture in all its many facets. All disciplines welcomed. How has the image of self, or portraiture changed over the past fifty, hundred years? Or has it?  How are artists using new techniques/technology to develop and manipulate how we see one another, and ourselves? How has identity developed/changed (in terms of portraiture).  Has the selfie replaced/added/changed how we look at portraiture? Or has it given us permission to explore our idiosyncratic self. 

Sitka residencies provide time and space for self-paced work and reflection in an inspiring natural setting. Residents from a broad range of art, writing, performance and science-based practices come to Sitka to create and explore away from the familiar contexts and constraints of daily routines, and free from external expectations. Located within the unique ecosystems of Cascade Head and the Salmon River Estuary on Oregon's central coast, Sitka is a place where natural curiosity is sparked, and creativity is unleashed. From climate change and environmental justice to systemic racism and economic inequality, diverse perspectives help spark new ideas and collaborative approaches to address today's challenges in creative ways.

The City of Auburn invites sculptors to submit applications for Auburn’s Downtown Sculpture Gallery. The works selected for this public art exhibition will be on loan to the City for a period of twelve months (12) and can be available for sale during that time. Each selected artist will receive a $1,000 stipend. At the conclusion of the exhibition a sculpture from the exhibition may be purchased for inclusion in the City of Auburn’s permanent collection. The purchase budget is $10,000. Artist are required to be living or working in the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California and Montana) and deliver their artwork in person to Auburn, Washington. Munson’s Artists-in-Residence program (AIR) is an education-based residency that allowsone emerging artist to live, work, and teach on the Munson and Pratt Munson College of Art & Design campus in Utica, New York for one academic year. The AIR program is designed for emerging artists or recent visual arts MFA graduates interested in working in art education in community arts and college curricula while receiving support to develop a vibrant, self-directed studio practice. A successful AIR applicant works in photography, embracing either traditional or expanded lens-based processes. Experience in both analogue and digital photographic mediums is desired. Programming includes presenting a public lecture, teaching community arts education classes, holding a public open studio event, and designing and implementing accessible community projects with various departments on campus. Artists receive financial support, housing, meals, studio, and an exhibition in the Museum of Art.

ArtPrize is an international art competition & cultural festival held annually in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Oklahoma artists are invited to apply for their chance to represent the state of Oklahoma in this international art competition. Five artists will pitch their ideas to a panel of judges for a chance to win a $10,000 grant. This funding supports the creation, transportation, and logistics of their ArtPrize 2025 installation in Grand Rapids, MI (Sept 18–Oct 4, 2025). The winner also receives complimentary registration and ArtPrize assistance in securing a high-visibility venue.

From the geometric exactitude of Islamic art to the bold organic shapes of Henri Matisse's cutouts, artists have long used shape as a fundamental building block of visual expression. The modernist movement particularly embraced the power of pure form, with artists like Kandinsky and Mondrian reducing their compositions to essential geometric elements. Site:Brooklyn invites artists working in all mediums to submit works that explore, challenge, and celebrate the role of shape in contemporary art practice. Whether through sculpture, painting, digital media, or installation, submissions should demonstrate innovative and appreciative approaches to form, negative space, and dimensional relationships. The exhibition aims to create a dialogue between diverse artistic practices while highlighting the enduring significance of shape as a visual language.

This international exhibition seeks to showcase the best of contemporary fiber art. Submissions are invited that reflect the breadth of functional or non-functional works that use fiber and/or fiber art techniques in traditional or innovative ways. Works made from natural or high tech materials that reference fiber and that blur the lines between art, architecture and craft are welcome.

Are you a Bay Area artist? SF Parks Alliance, in partnership with SFMTA, seeks artists for a public asphalt art mural on Sanchez Slow Street in Noe Valley. The project includes stakeholder coordination, community engagement, design, and installation of a 1,500 sq. ft. painted street mural.

Eligibility: Artists 18+ residing in the nine Bay Area counties with experience painting public artworks 700 sq. ft. or larger. Asphalt or roadway painting experience preferred.

East Quay is pleased to offer a 5-week residency to a Somerset-based artist, in their sought-after Studio 10 Project Space. The residency will run as part of their contribution to this year’s Somerset Arts Week’s Open Studios Festival, which will take place between Saturday 13 - Sunday 28 September 2025. They are accepting applications from artists working in all mediums.

Charlotte Street’s call for the Studio Residency Program applications opens February 17, 2025. Visual artists, performing artists, and writers interested in its two-year-long Studio Residency Program in Kansas City, MO, are encouraged to apply. Applications are accepted until March 21st, 2025, 11:59 PM CST. Applications are only accepted through Submittable. Charlotte Street selects an independent jury panel to select artists from the applicant pool. The residency program provides: Free studio space, advisors, public programs, annual cohort meetings and presentations, studio visits, access to a multidisciplinary network of artist peers. The Foundation for Indian Contemporary Art and Serendipity Arts Foundation present a new collaboration—Futures in Formation: A Public Art Programme—supporting artistic projects by Indian artists (individuals and collectives) working with a variety of publics, communities and environments. The program will support the development of the proposed projects through aspects of research, production, dissemination and other routes of mobilisation as required. It will entail financial support of Rs. 3 Lakh each for the project detailed in their application, to support the time period of the program (1st May 2025 to 1 March 2026). Individuals and collectives may apply. The applicant/s needs to be 18 years or older and should be an Indian citizen/s, currently residing in India.

Soaring Gardens Artists Retreat in Laceyville, PA, offers visual artists, writers, and composers, and instrumentalists a quiet country setting for residencies to focus on their creative endeavors. Spaces are available from mid-May to mid-September. Soaring Gardens has no fees, makes no demands, and there are no intrusions from the administration—only the studios, gardens, deer, other creatures, and time.

SOLA (Support Old Lady Artists) Awards are five unrestricted awards of $5,000 given annually to Washington State female-identified visual artists, age 60 or over, who have dedicated 25 years or more to creating art. Founded in 2016 by Seattle artist Ginny Ruffner, the SOLA Award seeks to encourage and celebrate women’s achievements in the arts. Ginny and friends’ generous contributions to this award seek to honor, encourage and celebrate the lifetime contributions of women whose artwork has not been sufficiently or widely recognized. One of the five SOLA Awards will specifically honor a BIPOC artist.

The Twining Humber Award is an unrestricted award of $10,000 given annually to a Washington State female-identified visual artist, age 60 or over, who has dedicated 25 years or more to creating art. The award is made possible by a generous gift from the painter Yvonne Twining Humber (1907-2004), who established the Irving Foundation and Yvonne Twining Humber Fund for Artistic Excellence to support the grant through Artist Trust in recognition of female-identified artists who oftentimes must interrupt or postpone art-making in order to answer the demands of family life. The award recognizes artistic excellence, professional accomplishment, and longstanding dedication to the visual arts.

The Hudson Valley Art Association announces its 92nd Annual National Juried Exhibition at the Lyme Art Association Gallery in Old Lyme, CT. Jurors include Tom Hughes (Oil), Paul Loescher (Watercolor), Peter Seltzer (Pastel & Graphics), and Randolph L. McIver (Sculpture). The jury seeks original works in representational and traditional realism that demonstrate strong technical skill and aesthetic appeal. Artists can view previously accepted works from the 2024 exhibition on the association’s website.

Commission Description: Ceiling-based artworks

The Buffalo Bills Art Program seeks to commission a professional visual artist(s), or artist team, to create site-specific ceiling-based/hanging/suspended artwork(s) to be placed in 2 different locations in New Highmark Stadium. One artist/artist team will be selected for each location. This artwork will be thematic, public-facing, and part of the permanent collection at the Stadium. Ceiling-based/ suspended/hanging artworks may include (but not limited to) sculptural artworks, mixed-media or assemblage, illuminated artwork utilizing electricity or digital components, relief or ceiling-mounted sculptural works.

The AXA Art Prize US is a juried student art competition and exhibition of 40 two-dimensional figurative works: paintings, drawings, and original printmaking. One First Prize of $10,000 and one Second Prize of $5,000 is awarded to two of the 40 student exhibition finalists.

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery announces their 16th Annual “Abstracts” Online Art Competition. 2D and 3D artists from around the world are called upon to make online submissions for possible inclusion into the Gallery’s April 2025 online group exhibition. Music is an art that awakens emotions and imaginative imagery. Many textile makers find a correlation between the notation of musical scores and textile drafts or patterns and use these similarities by blending fibers, patterns, and textures to evoke a feeling like a favorite melody. ALRI invites fiber artists to create works inspired by music for the new exhibition.

The Northern Territory (NT) is home to some of the most unique and remote art, history and cultural collections in Australia. Featuring treasures of national significance, these community collections tell the story of our past and present to local and visiting audiences. Grants are available for regional museums, galleries and cultural centres to develop, conserve, preserve or exhibit our unique cultural heritage. Regional museums, galleries and cultural centres in the Northern Territory are eligible to apply for funding of up to $40,000 per applicant. All projects must be completed within one year. Funding cannot be used for costs incurred before the project commencement date. Funding is provided by the Northern Territory Government and administered by the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory (MAGNT).
