The LUX Center for the Arts, located in Lincoln, NE, will be hosting its third bi-annual EMERGE mural festival in September of 2025. Three (3) new murals will be created in the University Place neighborhood, Lincoln’s first certified Creative District. This call for artists outlines the details or application.
Three artists will be selected and each will create a mural at a designated location within the UNI Place Creative District. Each artist will receive $4,000 in compensation for their work, as well as a design honorarium. Supplies and materials will be paid for by the LUX Center for the Arts, along with additional administrative coordination assistance.

The 10th Horse and Art Research Program offers an intensive program designed for artists interested in combining equine studies and visual arts. It seeks artists with an interest in horse culture as well as riders with an interest in art. The work includes daily practice and lessons in horsemanship, equestrian archery, and riding. Discussions and lectures focus on fine art research, with each year centered around a different research theme. Now in its 10th year, the program will emphasize body language and communication with horses. Guest lecturers will be invited, and excursions will be organized. The residency concludes with a public exhibition in the Riding Arena Gallery. It welcomes artistic practices from both Western and Eastern traditions. To mark this special anniversary year, a surprise show featuring works by previous participants will be included.

Over $5,000 in cash prizes will be awarded. All accepted works of art selected by three jurors will be displayed at Art League Gallery inside the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The prestigious juror, Tony Armendariz, will choose the prize winners. This state-of-the-art gallery provides the finest exhibit space with high tourist and community visibility.
The 29th Biennale Judge is Tony Armendariz. Tony is an award-winning American artist living and painting in Palatine, Illinois.

The Denver Chalk Art Festival is an award-winning event that will transform Denver's historical museum district into a colorful street museum. Elf School of the Arts is a nonprofit artist residency in Hayesville, NC. Situated beside the Appalachian Mountains and Lake Chatuge, Elf was originally an elementary school started in 1928, but has been renovated from 2022-2024 into an artist residency and concert venue. Elf's primary mediums are book arts, casting, cooking, drawing, jewelry, music, lapidary, paper arts, photography, printmaking, weaving, welding, woodworking, and writing. Residencies at Elf run from 1 week up to 3 months. You can apply to experiment, produce a body of work, use specific equipment, or expand on an idea. A private bedroom and studio are provided during your stay. The residencies are free, however consumables, materials, food, and travel are not included.

Fire Island Artist Residency (FIAR) is a non-profit organization founded in 2011 which brings lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, non-binary, intersex and queer identifying emerging visual artists to Fire Island— a place long-steeped in LGBTQ history— to create, commune, rest, reflect and contribute to the location's rich artistic history. Each summer FIAR provides free live/work space to visual artists who work, socialize, and immerse themselves in the Fire Island community for four weeks, during which time they are visited by renowned artists and scholars, who interact with residents through intimate studio visits, dinners, and discussions, providing support and feedback. The greater Fire Island community, as well as visitors from New York City and Long Island, are invited to attend free public lectures by these esteemed guests.

Since 1960, the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts has partnered with the Montgomery Art Guild to present a biennial exhibition of contemporary regional art in the museum’s galleries. This 46th edition of the exhibit will present paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures, ceramics, photographs, computer graphics, mixed media, fiber art, and fine crafts by some of Alabama's most talented contemporary artists. So far, they have raised over $8,000 for cash awards for artists! This year's exhibit is based on the theme “Home” and can include realistic or abstract works inspired by characteristics or living conditions of their home state, Alabama. This year's Juror is Jade Powers, Hugh Kaul Curator of Contemporary Art of the Birmingham Museum of Art in Birmingham, Alabama.

See obras-art.org for more info. OBRAS-PORTUGAL is located on a hill overlooking a rolling landscape with cork oaks and a medieval fortress. Highlights in the wider surroundings are megalithic monuments, abandoned marble quarries, dreamy villages and Évora: a university town with UNESCO world heritage status. They offer professional artists an inspiring residency in a peaceful, rural environment, with good working spaces and support for specific activities (such as open studio and other public events). There will be some seven artists. Each works individually and has all privacy; collaborations are on your own initiative.

The residency fosters an environment of creative urgency and collaboration, offering inspiring spaces like a warm Victorian home, a white barn, and textile mills turned into studios, all surrounded by woods, lakes, and opportunities for connection. Residents have the freedom to shape their workspace and rhythms while engaging in shared meals, bonfire conversations, and community programming, including open studios, workshops, exhibitions, and more. For this competition, both 2D and 3D artists, worldwide, are invited to submit their best art and photography using a concentration of colors. One color or a multitude of colors meets the criteria for this competition. This is the 9th annual Colors art competition that gallery has held.
This is an international open (no theme) competition so any subject matter and any media are acceptable. All artists, regardless of location or experience, are invited to submit their best representational and/or abstract art and photography.
Choice of a cash prize or complimentary one-year membership to Fusion Art's Members Gallery for Best in Show winners. Winners and finalists are provided with extensive worldwide publicity and promotion.

The Department of Art at Pittsburg State University welcomes Solo and Group Exhibition Proposals for the 2025-2026 academic year. Pittsburg State University Department of Art, located in Porter Hall has two galleries, University Gallery and Harry Krug Gallery. The University Gallery offers 900 square feet of space with 120 linear feet of wall space. The Harry Krug Gallery has approximately 100 square feet of wall space.
