The Penn Journal of Arts and Sciences (PJAS) is a vibrant platform for individuals all around the world to share their scholarly and creative pursuits. The diverse voices amplified by our journal showcase creative poetry, photography, and art. With contributors from all walks of life, PJAS aims to cultivate a community rich with intellectual curiosity. The Penn Journal of Arts and Sciences accepts submissions on a rolling basis year-round, with our next quarterly issue published online and in print in Fall 2024.

The Homiens Art Prize is an international, non-acquisitive art prize open to all artists. All art forms, mediums, and completion dates are eligible. Artworks of all dimensions, on any theme are welcome.

6 Winning artists are exhibited by Homiens, each receive an unrestricted cash award of $500, are published in our exhibition catalog, receive an optional interview, feature in our prestigious annual publication The Homiens 60, and may request a letter of recommendation from our Jurors.

The 2024 Henki Art Prize invites global artists to explore the theme "Liquid Time: Capturing the Present," focusing on capturing the fleeting moments in water's various forms. Entries are free and open to all artists around the world. Submitted artwork must be original, two-dimensional artwork created within the last five years. The winner receives $500, while other finalists receive $125. Selected works will be showcased in an online exhibition and featured on Henki Art's platforms. The entry deadline is October 31, 2024.

Art Reach of Mid Michigan is now accepting proposals for exhibitions in The Morey Family Gallery for the 2025 season (April 2025–March 2026). This is a wonderful opportunity to display your work in our 800-square-foot gallery, located in the heart of downtown Mt. Pleasant. The Morey Family Gallery hosts a variety of exhibitions, including independent artists, juried shows, artist groups, and special events such as Art Walk Central and Mt. Pleasant students’ exhibits. They are looking for focused and specific exhibit proposals to create unique shows for our 2025 season.

Registration is now live for the Traditional and Contemporary Arts Tour of Japan with artist Judith Kruger, running from May 20 to June 1, 2025. This curated tour includes visits to master-makers’ studios in Kyoto, Tokyo, and rural areas. Judith partners with a Condé Nast-awarded Japan Specialist and bilingual guide for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Participants will explore ceramics, printmaking, nihonga, and Japanese art materials, as well as contemporary and traditional architecture. Highlights include museum visits, indigo dyeing, Noh theater, and Buddhist temples

The estimated tour price is $8,125 based on a group of 14 with a single supplement of $1,375. The final price will be refined - dependent on the exchange rate and the final size of the group. A $1,000 deposit will be required and not cashed until group is filled.

The Small Works exhibition that will run from December 6-22 is our Element of Celebration! The Small Works exhibition is intended to make art more accessible to first time buyers, holiday shoppers and seasoned collectors, alike.

Any theme or style accepted. The show will feature a wide array of media including oils, acrylics, pastels, watercolor, printmaking, photography, fiber arts, mixed media, digital, collage, assemblage, ceramics and sculpture.

Work must be 12 inches or less in all directions (including frame). All Artwork must be for sale. Sedona Arts Center is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Their mission is to connect, enrich, educate and lead through the inspiring power of the arts and creative discovery.

The Western Spirit Juried Art Show & Sale (WSJASS) is the premier annual juried art show in the Rocky Mountain Region for emerging and established artists who create original art depicting the American West. Accepted categories for the show are Acrylic, Drawing, Mixed-Media (including digital drawings), Oil, Pastel, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, and Watercolor. The Museum/Jurors have the right to change the category for jurying. All art in the Western Spirit Juried Art Show & Sale is selected by an independent jury comprised of professionals in the western art community. Artwork for the Vandewark Miniature Show is selected by the artist following acceptance into Western Spirit.

The Artadia Awards provide financial support, exposure and recognition to artists. The awards are unrestricted, allowing artists to use the funds in any way they choose.

Each year, an open-call application is made available in each of the seven active partner cities. Supporting artists equitably is a critical part of the Artadia Award process: we consider the unique populations of each community and are proud to reflect our country’s diversity with an Awardee pool that is over 50 percent female and over 40 percent persons of color.

In addition to financial support, Awardees can participate in the Artadia Network to receive structured opportunities for valuable new connections and resource sharing as well as receive a dedicated webpage on Artadia’s online Artist Registry. Connections fostered by Artadia have facilitated major steps in Awardees’ careers, such as inclusion in prominent exhibitions (e.g. five Awardees were featured in the 2017 Whitney Biennial, and six in 2019).

Artists will create and display art based on the theme of pink and white blossoms in a county- wide art show held throughout Howard County during March 2025. The arts community including private art galleries in Howard County are already on board for this art extravaganza and many other locations including: The Welcome Center, Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center, Savage Mill mall, Robinson Nature Center, Howard Community College and Howard County 50+ Centers to name a few, will also be involved. Maps will be available for the public highlighting all art locations and installations showing both private galleries and the open show.

The Billboard Creative (TBC) annual exhibition is a chance to have your work on a billboard in LA. TBC's shows places mass-scale works on dozens of billboards throughout LA, showcasing emerging, under-appreciated and mid-career artists alongside recognized leaders in the industry.

TBC shows are styled like a traditional gallery show but the city becomes the walls. Billboards by TBC artists have been passed by cars more than 67 million times. Strategically placed in high-traffic neighborhoods near galleries, museums and art districts, each billboard is designed to amplify your impact. To date, the show has also earned coverage in Hyperallergic, Huffington Post, NPR, and The Creators Project among others.

Selected artists will receive a billboard for 4 weeks and be part of the LA exhibition.

The Center for Genomics and Systems Biology (CGSB) New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) was established in 2012 to develop a world-class research environment at NYUAD and in the UAE. The NYUAD-CGSB includes a diverse array of research programs oriented around two main directions, “Biomedicine and Health” and “Environmental Adaptation and Sustainability.” The CGSB encourages and promotes scientific and cultural interactions by regularly hosting events such as lectures, workshops, and Science Cafés, facilitating the exchange of ideas and knowledge between program participants and the community. The Artist in Residence program will bring together scientists and artists to collaborate, communicate, interact, and learn, promoting the creative thinking that drives innovation.

Mid West Center for Photography, Winter exhibition. Photographing this winter splendor is for the adventurous at heart and the wonder of it all is worth facing the cold to get those great shots. Images of the bare trees, the snow covered mountains and plains, details of the landscape and warm interior spaces are what will make up the photographs in the Wintertime exhibition. All of the details of the feeling of the season are the types of photographs that MWCP are interested in for this upcoming exhibition.

Applicants are invited to apply for the 2025 Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF) Artist-in-Residence (AiR) program in Lead, South Dakota. The SURF AiR program provides opportunities for artists to create work inspired by the Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF), which is set in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. SURF’s unique location and history make it an ideal place for creative work. At 4,850 feet deep, SURF is the deepest underground laboratory in the United States and is located in the former Homestake Gold Mine. The facility houses experiments in physics, biology, geology, and engineering.

The Wurtele Center for Leadership and Lazarus Center for Career Development announce a co-sponsored search for an artist to create a temporary mural for the main stairwell of Kathleen McCartney Hall, a new campus building for the Wurtele and Lazarus Centers. Thematically, the mural will explore the future(s) of work and leadership, framed within the context of Smith College’s history as a women’s college with a mission to develop “engaged global citizens and leaders to address society’s challenges.”

The Showcase 2025 program will feature local and regional artists in Northwind Art’s Jeanette Best Gallery, 701 Water Street, Port Townsend. For 2025, the program will feature approximately 35 artists who will show across three separate periods (from January-May, May-September, and September-December). Artists will be chosen by a panel of Northwind Art curators. They will be judging the quality, professionalism, and sales potential of the work. The selection committee will look for a cohesive body of work from each artist. Our final artist selections will reflect a variety of media, techniques, and styles.

PSTA, in partnership with the City of Clearwater, seeks an artist or team to develop artwork for the PSTA Clearwater MTC (Multimodal Transit Center) which will be a new multi-modal transportation facility in downtown Clearwater, Florida.

This art piece will be located within the city’s Downtown Core, in an area that will include the PSTA Clearwater MTC and a newly constructed Clearwater City Hall. The art is planned as a focal point within a small public plaza to enhance a sense of place in Clearwater’s Downtown and also to become a keystone for visitors and locals as they pass.

Mark Arts in Wichita, Kansas, invites submissions for an innovative exhibition that explores and celebrates fashion in fine art. Clothing and accessories have long been the narrative tools artists use to position their subjects in place and time. From John Singer Sargeant’s shocking Madame X in 1884 to Amy Sherald’s 2018 official portrait of Michelle Obama in a couture dress (by Michelle Smith for Milly), artists have used fashion in their work to disrupt orthodoxy. À la Mode: The Language of Fashion in Art will examine the way that artists utilize and manipulate fashion within their own art practice.

The exhibition juror is Shana Levenson, who will also be conducting an artist talk and Artisan Academy Workshop at Mark Arts in Wichita, Kansas, during the run of the exhibition.

Fusion Art announces the 9th Annual Landscapes Art Competition.

For this competition, both 2D & 3D artists, worldwide, are invited to submit their best representational and/or abstract art and photography depicting landforms such as mountains, hills, valleys, deserts, farmland, trees, rivers, lakes, ponds, forests, wilderness, polar regions, rainforests, islands and tropical landscapes.

Choice of a cash prize or complimentary one-year membership to Fusion Art's Members Gallery for Best in Show winners. Winners and finalists are provided with extensive worldwide publicity and promotion.

Emerging and mid-career artists are invited to submit their work for consideration in this group exhibition. All submissions will be considered for the Exhibition and the accompanying Online Exhibition. Simultaneously, Field Projects Panel will be considering the submissions for future Solo Shows, Art Fairs, Group Shows, Off-site Exhibitions, feature on their social media and their studio visit program (NY Artists). About 85% of the artists they have shown at Field Project are discovered through the open call process.

The City of Keller Public Arts Board and the Park Board have come together to form a subcommittee to oversee the design and installation of eight unique outdoor murals that shall be located at the Keller Sports Park south and west walls. The group seeks a digital artist to design each mural. This project intends to turn high resolution digital submittals into physical designs applied to brick walls through the use of brick wrap.

The expansion will feature new softball fields, youth baseball and multipurpose fields, baseball fields, a rodeo area, soccer and lacrosse fields, and a rugby field.

The City of Keller will provide a 4”x6” plaque for the mural to include artwork title, artist name and year of installation.

The Hale Masters of Fine Art Fellowship funds artists who either have recently graduated (within 5 years) from or are currently enrolled in an MFA graduate program. This is a month long residency is designed for an artist whose work explores aesthetic beauty. The Hale MFA Fellowship provides space and time for artists to focus solely on their work. There is no expectation to teach, exhibit, or present work. Hale Fellowships take place only during the months of January, February, and March. There is no expectation for the resident to teach, but we do encourage exhibition and other community engagement.

Impacted by the open source movement—which promotes freely shared, educational software and information—Open Source Gallery applies a similar philosophy to create an approachable space dedicated to the accessibility of contemporary visual art. In addition to monthly exhibitions, which feature conceptually-driven art from both local and international artists, they offer many public programs that foster dialogue about art.

For their 2026 Open Call, they invite applications from artists working in any medium and location, whose practices emphasize experimentation, sustainability, and social engagement. As part of this opportunity, selected artists will receive artist fees based on the W.A.G.E. certification schedule, a production budget, and support from Open Source in the form of planning, production and communications.

The A.I.R. Fellowship Program has awarded more than 120 artists the opportunity to have their first solo exhibition in New York City with the support of the A.I.R. community. The program encourages artistic experimentation and rigor by providing a space where feminist historical legacy and intergenerational dialogue are at the forefront. Essential to this process are a series of professional development workshops, close collaboration with an A.I.R. artist-mentor, and scheduled studio visits throughout the year, including one with a selection panelist.

The theme of this juried show broadly concerns the human figure. This “figuration” can literally portray the human form, in any size, shape, sex or situation to the essence or abstraction of the figure. The juror will be seeking humanity in the “human form”. This can be represented in a wide range media: drawing, mixed media, printmaking, collage or sculpture. As depicted over centuries, the gamut of emotion, expressivity, individualism and physicality to be found in the figure is endless. What is out there in contemporary figuration now? What messages and stories through depictions exploring the human form are relevant, fresh, timeless ,surprising and challenging today?

Trompe L’oeil invites artists to create work centered around ideas of illusion, perception and reality. A French phrase meaning ‘deceives the eye’, Trompe L’oeil is a theme in art, generally used to describe work that creates a true-to-life depiction of a real object, scene or being. These artworks question reality and the aesthetics of realism. Trompe l’oeil forces the viewer to question what we see everyday and consider the boundary between the artist's world and our own.

BOTANICAL is a call for works of visual art which explore the theme of plant life (using formal or conceptual approaches). These may be in ways that are quite straightforward and descriptive, or which are abstract, conceptual or in other ways surprising or inventive. Manifest is eager to once again explore this theme and create a dynamic exhibition revealing just how artists make work of any media or genre (painting, drawing, collage, photography, printmaking, sculpture, mixed media, video, and non-traditional art, etc.) using plant life as a source of inspiration and exploration.

Artists and creatives working in all mediums are invited to submit original work that could be featured in a holiday exhibition at UNDERSTORY in Cleveland, Ohio, from November 29, 2024 to January 20, 2025.

Artistry Theater and Visual Arts, a multi-discipline non-profit arts organization based in Bloomington, MN, is currently accepting exhibit proposals for their 2025-2026 exhibition program year. Emerging and established artists, artist groups, and exhibit curators residing in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Wisconsin who are 18 years or older are invited to submit a proposal. CNL Projects, LK Architecture and the City of Wichita invite artists and artist teams with a demonstrated history of completing complex, permanent, outdoor public art projects (and/or other relevant experiences) to submit their qualifications for one of three public art commissions for a $592,000 Arkansas River Public Art Project. This project aims to enhance the aesthetics, safety, and accessibility of the Arkansas Riverfront through downtown Wichita, building upon its character and topography to create unique experiences and spaces for the public. The project will complement and support adjacent development cohesively and seamlessly, creating opportunities for public art to enhance the experience of the riverfront and Wichita.

The Stanley Bleifeld Memorial Grant is a prize of $5,000 sponsored by the National Sculpture Society.

It is awarded annually to a sculptor who has demonstrated outstanding ability as a sculptor and who has created a body of work inspired by nature which includes works of sculpture in the round and in bas-relief.

The Bleifeld Grant is for a mature body of work; sculpture created in workshop or instructional settings should not be submitted. Applicants cannot be elected members of the National Sculpture Society. All applicants must be citizens of or residents in the United States with a social security number.

The jury will consist of three persons, including at least two sculptors. The grant will be awarded in June 2025.
