Blue Space Gallery - “Beyond Boundaries”, an international competition and virtual exhibition. Artists of all ages from around the world are invited to participate, with complete freedom in choosing their medium and style. Submissions should revolve around the central theme of “Beyond Boundaries”. Entry is free; only those artists whose submissions are chosen as finalists will be required to pay a $35 participation fee. Finalists will have their artwork showcased in the online exhibition and will advance to the final jurying round in consideration for cash prizes and the opportunity to win the grand prize of $1,000. The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation grant is one of the most prestigious grants available to emerging representational artists, as well as one of the most substantial. It is one of the longest standing, with an illustrious history of recipients spanning more than half a century. The Foundation provides financial assistance, by way of grants, to young artists who are pursuing their studies or are in the early stage of their career, are working in a representational style of painting, drawing, sculpture or printmaking, and demonstrate the determination and talent to pursue a lifetime career in their art practice.

SU-CASA is a community arts engagement program that places artists and organizations in residence at senior centers across the five boroughs of New York City. The program, funded in FY25 by the New York City Council, provides grants to artists and organizations for the creation and delivery of arts programming for seniors. Teaching artists will engage participating seniors in an art project or series of cultural programs over the course of the residency, which will also include a public program component – an exhibit, reading, performance, open houses or other cultural interactions open to the surrounding community. Individual artists-in-residence will receive a stipend in the amount of $6000, an additional $2000 materials/supplies budget, and access to materials and supplies from Materials for the Arts. Individual artists are expected to provide a minimum of 20 contact hours of activity and can apply directly to participate in the program without a fiscal sponsor.

Pelham Art Center is pleased to announce a call for entries for the 13th biennial Alexander Rutsch Award and Exhibition for Painting. This juried competition is open to U.S.-based artists aged 19 and older. The winner is awarded a $7,500 cash prize, a solo exhibition and a printed catalog at Pelham Art Center and $2,500 is divided among the finalists. Pelham Art Center is proud to sponsor this competition and award honoring the memory and artistic achievement of artist Alexander Rutsch (1916 – 1997). Rutsch actively supported Pelham Art Center for more than 25 years. After his death, friends, family, and supporters established a generous fund to support a biennial, juried competition in painting.

Beam Camp, located in Strafford, NH, is a specialized summer camp focused on building and collaboration. The award-winning program provides youth (ages 10-17) with the opportunity to develop hands-on skills while exploring innovative thinking, design, problem-solving, and the creative process.
Each year, Beam Camp invites proposals for unique and spectacular large-scale projects that serve as the centerpiece of its 29-day session, where they are constructed and brought to life by 100 campers and over 20 staff members. The Project Team collaborates with the winning designers to adapt their project designs to the camp setting. Beam Center prides itself on the high level of craftsmanship and skill reflected in these projects and in the work of its staff and campers. Interested designers are encouraged to explore past projects.

The Adachi Contemporary UKIYOE Award 2024 is now calling for 21st-century ukiyo-e artists. Ukiyo-e prints, loved worldwide, are the result of a collaborative effort by three artisans: the ukiyo-e artist, represented by masters like Hokusai and Hiroshige, who draws the original design; the carver, who meticulously carves the design onto woodblocks; and the printer, who transfers the image onto washi paper. The works created by these artists have served as a “mirror of the times,” reflecting the societal and cultural contexts of their era and captivating many people. Since its inception in 2009, the Adachi UKIYOE Award has sought artists to become the next generation of ukiyo-e artists, producing designs that serve as the foundation for modern ukiyo-e.
