Up to $10,000 in cash and purchase prizes will be awarded to winners in the several categories. Jurors are well-known sculptor Jan Hoy and her photographer husband, Harry von Stark, who is equally well known in his field. Together they will determine which artworks are invited to be included in this all-media show. Jurying will be a blind process where the names and cities of the entrants will not be revealed to the jurors.
There is no particular theme for this show. Artists are encouraged to submit their best pieces in any category, medium, or genre.

Exhibition opportunity, calling for 2D (painting, mm, printmaking, photography, etc.), ceramic, sculpture, fiber arts, time-based media, sound, and installation. The term "scaffold" or "scaffolding" implies lifting up or providing support to enable further knowledge or ensure future success and advancement. For this unique exhibition, we plan to use the Linda Roesch Visual Arts Gallery, as well as all three levels at AVA; installing unique works of art on each level, creating an environment to roam through.

Tendrils is seeking submissions of visual art and short-form literature for its premiere issue. As an art and literary journal, Tendrils is dedicated to fostering healing and sparking conversations around trauma.

The first edition of Tendrils will explore the profound theme of trauma and the body—how it is held, manifested, and transmitted in physical form. Creators are invited to interpret this theme in their unique way, whether conceptually in abstraction or more realistically.

Art submissions in any medium or size that explore the themes of trauma and the body are welcome.

For literature, Tendrils is looking for short-form pieces (maximum 1,000 words) such as poetry, essays, and short stories that focus on this theme. The journal is also open to considering an excerpt if a long-form work aligns with the topic

The Emergent Art Grant supplies artists in the beginning of their careers with unrestricted cash funds of $1000. Grants are given quarterly to those that show a high potential for growth and an overall successful art career.

Buckham Gallery invites you to enter Eros & Thanatos, a national competition established to explore the Greek words for Love and Death. Eros, Greek god of love and sex, and Thanatos, the personification of death, have been used throughout western culture to symbolize the driving forces of life, love, sexuality and creativity as well as acknowledging our own mortality. All styles, media, and interpretations are welcome and encouraged.

Each residency will take place over a six-week period in which the artist resides and works in Alcalde, New Mexico. Artists will have access to and are encouraged to interact with the land, culture, and the extensive local historic archival materials at the sites, visitor center and surrounding area.

The culmination of the residency centers on the artist’s research and development of new work that showcases ideas and work created during their six-week stay at Los Luceros.

Public engagement opportunities include, but are not limited to: an artist talk or exhibition, workshop, temporary site-specific installations, performances, etc. Artwork and community engagement should be safe and appropriate for both children and adults, ADA compliant, and should not permanently alter the environment when removed.

The Red Bluff Art Gallery supports artists worldwide. The gallery shows international art and has for more than 16 years. They have sponsored more than 400 exhibitions, including international touring exhibitions. Selected art will be displayed online with their established website, social media and collector contacts. The virtual 3D immersive exhibit of your work, if selected by the jurors, will be linked directly to you for contact.

Entry fees assist in supporting the Accidental Animal Rescue Center, which provides sanctuary and habitat for many animals.

This program provides one-time grants of up to $5,000 for recent unexpected medical, dental, and mental health emergencies to artists in financial need* who are creating in the visual arts, film/video/electronic/digital arts, and choreography. Only generative artists are eligible—artists creating their own, independent work, with recent and ongoing opportunities for the public to experience that work.

The Art in Public Places Program of New Mexico Arts and the Local Selection Committee (LSC) of Eastern New Mexico University, Portales seek to commission and artist/artist team to create and install artwork in the newly renovated Roosevelt Science Center on the campus. These artworks should require low maintenance and will need to withstand a permanent installation indoors in one or more of the three identified areas within the building. The LSC is primarily interested in two-dimensional artworks of all media suitable for installation on wall surface including, but not limited to, weaving/fiber, installations, painting, photography, drawing, printmaking, new media, and more. Style can range from representational to abstract in nature, but artwork themes should reflect the nature of the building’s science-centered focus.

Is an international juried competition hosted annually by the Clatsop Community College Royal Nebeker Art Gallery in Astoria, Oregon, with a focus on the time-honored tradition of the nude human figure, an art form that continues to inspire and challenge many artists today as one of the most potentially rewarding subjects to explore. Every year KIRA awards 6 artists with a multi-week residency. Artists are provided with individual studio space, comfortable housing, two meals each day and live on a historic property in a beautiful seaside town. As part of the residency, artists will be asked to engage with the community for up to six hours a week.
