It's that time again: every three years, the town of Bietigheim-Bissingen awards the "Linocut Today" graphic design prize, now in its thirteenth year. Founded in 1989, the prize has long since become an institution and has established itself as one of the most important international graphic design awards: its focus on a single technique is also an absolutely unique selling point. All forms of artistic linocut are welcome: from small-format black and white sheets to huge colorful works. There are no limits to imagination and creativity!

The award-winning works will be acquired for the linocut collection of the Städtische Galerie Bietigheim-Bissingen. Furthermore, the jury decides on the purchase of three further works and determines the exhibits for the exhibition. A catalogue will be published.

Alchemy Art Center hosts a seasonal artist residency program on San Juan Island, WA for artists working in the mediums of ceramics, printmaking, fiber art, or darkroom photography. Alchemy’s AIR program is a unique opportunity to live in an immersive arts community on San Juan Island, connect with the wider SJI community via teaching and outreach activities, and have focused time to create art in an environment that supports collaboration, cross-pollination, and innovation. Artists-in-Residence are encouraged to work in all of Alchemy’s focus areas (regardless of their area of expertise), and experiment with mediums they may not have tried before.

Gallery 130, located at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi will host a juried exhibition in Spring 2025. Following the submission deadline, a juror will select work centered around an exhibition theme of their choice. A juror will be identified sometime in the month of October. This call will be updated with the juror's name soon. Artists who are selected will be asked for artist statements and more information in preparation for the exhibition.

Applications are now open to join the EFA Studio Program. This highly regarded program offers professional visual artists subsidized studios, curatorial visits, and a supportive community in Midtown Manhattan. Artists are selected by a panel of art professionals based on an anonymous review of images, videos, and a short statement. There is no application fee and EFA welcomes artists living within commuting distance of Manhattan.

Grant opportunity for the Emerging Artist Program
This program is designed specifically for artists who are beginning their career with very little experience exhibiting and selling their artwork at any venue. The application procedure and fee are the same as the regular show however, upon acceptance, emerging artists will pay a lower booth fee $350, have a tent provided and includes workshop, artist mentoring, support for lodging and will sell and showcase their work at the 2025 CCAF.

CherryArts is thrilled to offer a grant support for artists. In conjunction with the emerging artist program, selected artists will receive a $5,000 grant to enhance and expand their creative practices. This funding is unrestricted, allowing artists to pursue their careers and support all aspects of their work, which is not limited to creating the actual artwork. Upon signing the grant contract, 90% of funds will be disbursed to the artist providing them with immediate support. Artists are required to submit a report and have an exit interview detailing how they utilized the funds within 7 months of receiving the grant (September). Following the submission of the report, the final 10% will be released.

Artist-in-residence program provides opportunities for artists in the field of contemporary art to cultivate their artistic creativity and vision since 1994. Located around an hour from Tokyo, a residency at ARCUS Studio allows participants in the program to come into contact with the contemporary art scene in Japan as well as devote themselves to their creative endeavors in a calm environment while interacting with the local community. Through the support the program offers from its dedicated team of coordinators and regular tutorials with a curator, artists are able to search for and explore approaches in their practices and undertake new challenges in their artistic expression.

Now in its fifth year, Wales Contemporary / Cymru Gyfoes is an international open competition developed by the Waterfront Gallery with support from the Welsh Government.

Wales Contemporary invites artists from all around the world to enter work in 2D or 3D and any subject matter. Accepted mediums include painting, sculpture, drawing, print, ceramic, glass, textile, collage, mixed media, and more. (Please note that photography, digital prints and film are not accepted)

Approximately 150 works will be selected for Wales Contemporary which will be on show at The Garrison Chapel, Chelsea Barracks in February 2025 followed by a touring show at Waterfront Gallery, Milford Haven in March 2025.

The Arts and Recreation Foundation of Overland Park in cooperation with the City of Overland Park is seeking art concepts to consider for permanent acquisition to be installed in the LongHouse Visitor Center at 8909 W. 179th Street, Overland Park, Kansas. This space is the new entry and event space at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. Surrounded by picturesque scenery, LongHouse Visitor Center welcomes guests to the expansive gardens. Permanent art that reflects the beauty of the gardens and landscapes in the Arboretum is needed in this distinctive space.

Massachusetts-based artist(s) and Massachusetts-based organizations working with artist(s), are welcome to apply for a project grant. Projects must take place in Massachusetts and creatively cultivate expressions or embodiments of spatial justice through public artmaking. All artistic disciplines are welcome to apply. Public Art for Spatial Justice grants range from $15,000-$30,000, for up to two-year grant period beginning March 2025 through February 2027.

Established in 1980, this internationally renowned program annually awards visual artists of all mediums the opportunity to live and create site-specific work inspired by their total immersion experience in the natural environment. Up to 4 artists are selected for residencies at Bernheim. One residency is always dedicated to an artist currently living in Kentucky or Clark and Floyd counties in Southern Indiana, and one residency is always dedicated to an artist whose work addresses environmental issues and the climate crisis.

Studio Kura’s Artist in Residence Program is a chance for domestic and international artists to experience and draw inspiration from Japan’s rural environment, as well as for Studio Kura’s thriving local community to meet different artists and their works.

Staying period are usually four, eight or twelve weeks long, and the participating artists are required to present an exhibition in the end of their stay at Studio Kura. Artists who are interested in having a workshop to children and the Studio Kura’s community, we are welcome to help and organize.

Accommodation consists on three traditional Japanese rural houses, each house can be shared by up to three to four artists. Each artist is provided a private single room. Common room, bathroom, toilet and kitchen facilities are shared with other residence artists and there is internet WiFi connection in each house. One partitioned studio space is offered to the artists as working space as well as exhibition space. There are enough restaurants and stores for daily needs at bicycle distance. A 25 minutes walk to the nearest train station, Ikisan. Artists are welcome to visit our office to work and ask any needs, located in 3-10 minutes distance from the residence house 1 and 2, and 20 minutes distance from the residence house 3. They will be able to meet a number of people during the period.

The Topeka Competition celebrates national artists working in three-dimensional media. It offers a unique opportunity within a public library setting to showcase the newest, most innovative work in contemporary arts and crafts. Juror is Mona Cliff who is known for artworks concerning her personal history and heritage. The Topeka Competition is partially funded by the Friends of the Library.

Johnson City Public Art’s leased sculpture program seeks to enhance downtown Johnson City through the incorporation of public art. Sculptures in the Phil Pindzola Biennial Sculpture Exhibition are placed on a two-year rotation; the next round of sculpture will be fully installed by June 2025.

Carbondale Arts is now accepting applications for their highly anticipated annual fashion extravaganza. The 2025 show will be held March 6-8, all three nights sell out (600 tickets) every year! Applications are due December 4, 2024.

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery announces their 2024 “Winter 5 for $10” Online Art Competition.

For this competition, all 2D and 3D artists, from around the world, are called upon to make online submissions for possible inclusion into the Gallery’s “Winter 5 for $10” online group art exhibition.

This is an open art competition and the gallery invites artists, regardless of where they reside, to apply to this competition by submitting their best representational and/or abstract art.

The artwork for this competition does NOT need to be “winter” themed. Any subject matter and any media are acceptable for consideration.

While the history of art collecting is dominated by accounts of wealthy patrons and institutions, this exhibition aims to shift focus to artists themselves as collectors, examining how their personal collections inform and interact with their creative practice. They seek to challenge traditional exhibition formats by creating an environment that mirrors the organic, personal space of an artist's studio rather than a conventional white cube gallery setting.

The Art and Olfaction Award for Experimental Work with Scent is for artists or other creative or technological practitioners who make unconventional or non-traditional use of scent that takes it out of the domain of traditional perfumery. Projects must have been first made public in 2024. It is part of The Art and Olfaction Awards, a yearly awards mechanism to highlight and celebrate independent perfume and olfactive creation.

The online submission forms close on Dec. 6, 2024, 11:59pm PT.

They require a minimum of 25ml per scent submitted. The deadline for receipt of perfume samples is Dec. 20, 2024, end of day.

Causability grants are provided to creators are rooted in the belief that local Creator as Activists have the unique perspective needed to address the challenges and opportunities in their communities. By empowering these individuals through financial support, Causability helps turn their innovative ideas into reality. Creators often know their communities best, seeing both the problems and potential solutions firsthand, and our grants offer them the resources to make a tangible difference.

The grants are tailored for creators who may not yet be involved with a local nonprofit organization, providing them with the opportunity to develop new programs in partnership with these organizations. The goal is to foster collaborations that address the needs of underserved or socio-economically marginalized areas through creative mediums.

Artists are invited to enter 2D and 3D innovative artwork of original design. The exhibition will be juried by the Fiber Art Now creative team and will be featured in the Spring 2025 issue of Fiber Art Now.
Denver Botanic Gardens in Denver, Colorado, will present works from Contemporary Fiber: Botanicals, selected from the Fiber Art Now print exhibition by the Gardens’ curatorial team. The on-site exhibition will be on view, May 17 through September 28, 2025, in the Kemper Family Gallery, botanicgardens.org.

This group exhibition will center the experiences of artists with ties to Colorado who self-identify as a member of the AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) community, exploring how their stories of migration, settlement, and identity from the global "East" to the global "West" have both embraced and challenged the legacy of the American West. Artists are encouraged to submit works of any medium for consideration for exhibition within the McMahon Gallery housed at The Dairy Arts Center, Boulder, CO. Textile Center is pleased to announce the sixth year of McKnight Fellowship for Fiber Artists. The intent of this program is to recognize and support midcareer (and beyond!) fiber and textile artists living and working in Minnesota who demonstrate a sustained level of accomplishment, commitment, and artistic excellence in the field.

As the quarter century approaches, the Morgan Conservatory hosts its 13th Annual Juried Exhibition. The Material Works Art Award is now accepting applications from artists with contemporary practices. This inaugural award offers a $2,500 grant in exchange for an original artwork, which will join MW's growing collection. The award promotes artistic excellence by increasing visibility and advancing careers.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until December 8, 2024. Early submissions may be featured on social media.

The selected artist receives $2,500, with MW covering shipping costs, and their work included in the collection for future exhibitions. Both the winner and five shortlisted artists will be featured on MW’s website and social platforms. A $40 application fee supports funding future artist opportunities.

The Dayton Society of Artists (DSA) is pleased to present The Future of Female, an exhibition focused on the ideals, hopes, and experiences of women identifying artists. The call for art is open to any women identifying artists who are 18 years or older and who live, work, or attend school in the state of Ohio. All art in any medium, style, and technique will be considered. Art must be original. $600 in prizes will be awarded; the juror is McLean Emenegger.

The DSA is a non-profit member-based organization. It was founded in 1938 and acquired a Victorian house in the 1960s which was then converted into a gallery. The DSA’s mission is to “connect, support, and educate artists and the community.”

On behalf of the City of Lake Oswego, the Arts Council of Lake Oswego (ACLO) is pleased to invite artist submissions of up to three works of art per artist to be considered for outdoor public display in Lake Oswego’s nationally recognized outdoor Gallery Without Walls rotating collection. The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority's (WMATA) Art in Transit program invites Artists/Artist Teams with a demonstrated history of completing complex, permanent, public art projects to submit their qualifications for a permanent public artwork for the Dupont Circle Metro station's iconic North Entrance.

The selected Artist/Artist Team will develop an aesthetically attractive, site-specific public artwork that captures WMATA's mission, and reflects the artistic, cultural and/or historical interests of the surrounding communities. Ruth Foundation for the Arts invites applications for its Special Project Grants program, awarding project funding to small and mid-size nonprofit visual and performing arts organizations situated on land presently known as Wisconsin. The library is now seeking a visionary sculptor to create large-scale artwork(s) that will complement the restored fountain and breathe new life into the courtyard. The City is looking to commission an artist located in the tri-county area of Pompano Beach for a work for hire project to design and fabricate that design on a Painted Pompano fish sculpture. The pompano fish is the City’s namesake and a symbol of the identity of Pompano residents. Once completed, the sculpture will be placed at Lyons Park. The Painted Pompano sculpture will be individualized by the artist. The theme for the design is air, land, and sea. An anti-graffiti and UV Resistant Coating must be applied. All applications must be submitted on the provided template and materials must also be listed.
