It's that time again: every three years, the town of Bietigheim-Bissingen awards the "Linocut Today" graphic design prize, now in its thirteenth year. Founded in 1989, the prize has long since become an institution and has established itself as one of the most important international graphic design awards: its focus on a single technique is also an absolutely unique selling point. All forms of artistic linocut are welcome: from small-format black and white sheets to huge colorful works. There are no limits to imagination and creativity!
The award-winning works will be acquired for the linocut collection of the Städtische Galerie Bietigheim-Bissingen. Furthermore, the jury decides on the purchase of three further works and determines the exhibits for the exhibition. A catalogue will be published.

Alchemy Art Center hosts a seasonal artist residency program on San Juan Island, WA for artists working in the mediums of ceramics, printmaking, fiber art, or darkroom photography. Alchemy’s AIR program is a unique opportunity to live in an immersive arts community on San Juan Island, connect with the wider SJI community via teaching and outreach activities, and have focused time to create art in an environment that supports collaboration, cross-pollination, and innovation. Artists-in-Residence are encouraged to work in all of Alchemy’s focus areas (regardless of their area of expertise), and experiment with mediums they may not have tried before.

Grant opportunity for the Emerging Artist Program
This program is designed specifically for artists who are beginning their career with very little experience exhibiting and selling their artwork at any venue. The application procedure and fee are the same as the regular show however, upon acceptance, emerging artists will pay a lower booth fee $350, have a tent provided and includes workshop, artist mentoring, support for lodging and will sell and showcase their work at the 2025 CCAF.
CherryArts is thrilled to offer a grant support for artists. In conjunction with the emerging artist program, selected artists will receive a $5,000 grant to enhance and expand their creative practices. This funding is unrestricted, allowing artists to pursue their careers and support all aspects of their work, which is not limited to creating the actual artwork. Upon signing the grant contract, 90% of funds will be disbursed to the artist providing them with immediate support. Artists are required to submit a report and have an exit interview detailing how they utilized the funds within 7 months of receiving the grant (September). Following the submission of the report, the final 10% will be released.

Located around an hour from Tokyo, a residency at ARCUS Studio allows participants in the program to come into contact with the contemporary art scene in Japan as well as devote themselves to their creative endeavors in a calm environment while interacting with the local community. Through the support the program offers from its dedicated team of coordinators and regular tutorials with a curator, artists are able to search for and explore approaches in their practices and undertake new challenges in their artistic expression.

Now in its fifth year, Wales Contemporary / Cymru Gyfoes is an international open competition developed by the Waterfront Gallery with support from the Welsh Government.
Wales Contemporary invites artists from all around the world to enter work in 2D or 3D and any subject matter. Accepted mediums include painting, sculpture, drawing, print, ceramic, glass, textile, collage, mixed media, and more. (Please note that photography, digital prints and film are not accepted)
Approximately 150 works will be selected for Wales Contemporary which will be on show at The Garrison Chapel, Chelsea Barracks in February 2025 followed by a touring show at Waterfront Gallery, Milford Haven in March 2025.

Studio Kura’s Artist in Residence Program is a chance for domestic and international artists to experience and draw inspiration from Japan’s rural environment, as well as for Studio Kura’s thriving local community to meet different artists and their works.
Staying period are usually four, eight or twelve weeks long, and the participating artists are required to present an exhibition in the end of their stay at Studio Kura. Artists who are interested in having a workshop to children and the Studio Kura’s community, we are welcome to help and organize.
Accommodation consists on three traditional Japanese rural houses, each house can be shared by up to three to four artists. Each artist is provided a private single room. Common room, bathroom, toilet and kitchen facilities are shared with other residence artists and there is internet WiFi connection in each house. One partitioned studio space is offered to the artists as working space as well as exhibition space. There are enough restaurants and stores for daily needs at bicycle distance. A 25 minutes walk to the nearest train station, Ikisan. Artists are welcome to visit our office to work and ask any needs, located in 3-10 minutes distance from the residence house 1 and 2, and 20 minutes distance from the residence house 3. They will be able to meet a number of people during the period.

By empowering these individuals through financial support, Causability helps turn their innovative ideas into reality. Creators often know their communities best, seeing both the problems and potential solutions firsthand, and our grants offer them the resources to make a tangible difference.
The grants are tailored for creators who may not yet be involved with a local nonprofit organization, providing them with the opportunity to develop new programs in partnership with these organizations. The goal is to foster collaborations that address the needs of underserved or socio-economically marginalized areas through creative mediums.

This inaugural award offers a $2,500 grant in exchange for an original artwork, which will join MW's growing collection. The award promotes artistic excellence by increasing visibility and advancing careers.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until December 8, 2024. Early submissions may be featured on social media.
The selected artist receives $2,500, with MW covering shipping costs, and their work included in the collection for future exhibitions. Both the winner and five shortlisted artists will be featured on MW’s website and social platforms. A $40 application fee supports funding future artist opportunities.

The Dayton Society of Artists (DSA) is pleased to present The Future of Female, an exhibition focused on the ideals, hopes, and experiences of women identifying artists. The call for art is open to any women identifying artists who are 18 years or older and who live, work, or attend school in the state of Ohio. All art in any medium, style, and technique will be considered. Art must be original. $600 in prizes will be awarded; the juror is McLean Emenegger.
The DSA is a non-profit member-based organization. It was founded in 1938 and acquired a Victorian house in the 1960s which was then converted into a gallery. The DSA’s mission is to “connect, support, and educate artists and the community.”

On behalf of the City of Lake Oswego, the Arts Council of Lake Oswego (ACLO) is pleased to invite artist submissions of up to three works of art per artist to be considered for outdoor public display in Lake Oswego’s nationally recognized outdoor Gallery Without Walls rotating collection. In its twenty-fifth year, this program’s mission is to integrate art into the daily lives of residents and visitors.
The entry fee is $25. They do offer a fee waiver for whoever needs the waiver for financial reasons.

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority's (WMATA) Art in Transit program invites Artists/Artist Teams with a demonstrated history of completing complex, permanent, public art projects to submit their qualifications for a permanent public artwork for the Dupont Circle Metro station's iconic North Entrance.
The selected Artist/Artist Team will develop an aesthetically attractive, site-specific public artwork that captures WMATA's mission, and reflects the artistic, cultural and/or historical interests of the surrounding communities. The public artwork is to be implemented within the circular opening of the North Entrance escalator well and integrate elements of biophilia.

The JCPRD Public Art Program is interested in commissioning an artist or artist team to create a site-specific, temporary art installation at the entrance of Theatre in the Park, located within Shawnee Mission Park, at 7710 Renner Road, Shawnee, KS 66218. The installation will be unveiled during the opening night of Theatre in the Park’s outdoor season in late May 2025 and be on display through fall of 2026. The artist will also be asked to develop and lead one community engagement activity or educational program, at no cost to members of the public, related to the artwork development process or the artwork itself.

Lyons Park Painted Pompano Sculpture

The City is looking to commission an artist located in the tri-county area of Pompano Beach for a work for hire project to design and fabricate that design on a Painted Pompano fish sculpture. The pompano fish is the City’s namesake and a symbol of the identity of Pompano residents. Once completed, the sculpture will be placed at Lyons Park. The Painted Pompano sculpture will be individualized by the artist. The theme for the design is air, land, and sea. An anti-graffiti and UV Resistant Coating must be applied. All applications must be submitted on the provided template and materials must also be listed.
