It's that time again: every three years, the town of Bietigheim-Bissingen awards the "Linocut Today" graphic design prize, now in its thirteenth year. Founded in 1989, the prize has long since become an institution and has established itself as one of the most important international graphic design awards: its focus on a single technique is also an absolutely unique selling point. All forms of artistic linocut are welcome: from small-format black and white sheets to huge colorful works. There are no limits to imagination and creativity!

The award-winning works will be acquired for the linocut collection of the Städtische Galerie Bietigheim-Bissingen. Furthermore, the jury decides on the purchase of three further works and determines the exhibits for the exhibition. A catalogue will be published.

The Topeka Competition celebrates national artists working in three-dimensional media. It offers a unique opportunity within a public library setting to showcase the newest, most innovative work in contemporary arts and crafts. Juror is Mona Cliff who is known for artworks concerning her personal history and heritage. The Topeka Competition is partially funded by the Friends of the Library.

Studio Kura’s Artist in Residence Program is a chance for domestic and international artists to experience and draw inspiration from Japan’s rural environment, as well as for Studio Kura’s thriving local community to meet different artists and their works.

Staying period are usually four, eight or twelve weeks long, and the participating artists are required to present an exhibition in the end of their stay at Studio Kura. Artists who are interested in having a workshop to children and the Studio Kura’s community, we are welcome to help and organize.

Accommodation consists on three traditional Japanese rural houses, each house can be shared by up to three to four artists. Each artist is provided a private single room. Common room, bathroom, toilet and kitchen facilities are shared with other residence artists and there is internet WiFi connection in each house. One partitioned studio space is offered to the artists as working space as well as exhibition space. There are enough restaurants and stores for daily needs at bicycle distance. A 25 minutes walk to the nearest train station, Ikisan. Artists are welcome to visit our office to work and ask any needs, located in 3-10 minutes distance from the residence house 1 and 2, and 20 minutes distance from the residence house 3. They will be able to meet a number of people during the period.

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery announces their 2024 “Winter 5 for $10” Online Art Competition.

For this competition, all 2D and 3D artists, from around the world, are called upon to make online submissions for possible inclusion into the Gallery’s “Winter 5 for $10” online group art exhibition.

This is an open art competition and the gallery invites artists, regardless of where they reside, to apply to this competition by submitting their best representational and/or abstract art.

The artwork for this competition does NOT need to be “winter” themed. Any subject matter and any media are acceptable for consideration.

While the history of art collecting is dominated by accounts of wealthy patrons and institutions, this exhibition aims to shift focus to artists themselves as collectors, examining how their personal collections inform and interact with their creative practice. They seek to challenge traditional exhibition formats by creating an environment that mirrors the organic, personal space of an artist's studio rather than a conventional white cube gallery setting.

Artists are invited to enter 2D and 3D innovative artwork of original design. The exhibition will be juried by the Fiber Art Now creative team and will be featured in the Spring 2025 issue of Fiber Art Now.
Denver Botanic Gardens in Denver, Colorado, will present works from Contemporary Fiber: Botanicals, selected from the Fiber Art Now print exhibition by the Gardens’ curatorial team. The Art and Olfaction Award for Experimental Work with Scent is for artists or other creative or technological practitioners who make unconventional or non-traditional use of scent that takes it out of the domain of traditional perfumery. Projects must have been first made public in 2024. It is part of The Art and Olfaction Awards, a yearly awards mechanism to highlight and celebrate independent perfume and olfactive creation.

The online submission forms close on Dec. 6, 2024, 11:59pm PT.

They require a minimum of 25ml per scent submitted. The deadline for receipt of perfume samples is Dec. 20, 2024, end of day.

By empowering these individuals through financial support, Causability helps turn their innovative ideas into reality. Creators often know their communities best, seeing both the problems and potential solutions firsthand, and our grants offer them the resources to make a tangible difference.

The grants are tailored for creators who may not yet be involved with a local nonprofit organization, providing them with the opportunity to develop new programs in partnership with these organizations. The goal is to foster collaborations that address the needs of underserved or socio-economically marginalized areas through creative mediums.

Textile Center is pleased to announce the sixth year of McKnight Fellowship for Fiber Artists. The intent of this program is to recognize and support midcareer (and beyond!) fiber and textile artists living and working in Minnesota who demonstrate a sustained level of accomplishment, commitment, and artistic excellence in the field.

This group exhibition will center the experiences of artists with ties to Colorado who self-identify as a member of the AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) community, exploring how their stories of migration, settlement, and identity from the global "East" to the global "West" have both embraced and challenged the legacy of the American West. Artists are encouraged to submit works of any medium for consideration for exhibition within the McMahon Gallery housed at The Dairy Arts Center, Boulder, CO. This exhibition will be juried by Rajiv Menon, founder of Rajiv Menon Contemporary in Los Angeles, and Roseline Michael Neveling, founder of Neveling Arts+Culture in New York City.

As the quarter century approaches, the Morgan Conservatory hosts its 13th Annual Juried Exhibition. This year artists are invited to reflect on the theme of the exhibition, Interwoven Aspects: Innovation and Tradition in Paper Art. Artists are encouraged to respond to the ever-changing landscape in the upcoming quarter century and what it brings; whether that is the rise of AI and other technologies, the idea of intersectionality or the transformative nature of paper as a medium and substrate. The Material Works Art Award is now accepting applications from artists with contemporary practices. This inaugural award offers a $2,500 grant in exchange for an original artwork, which will join MW's growing collection. The award promotes artistic excellence by increasing visibility and advancing careers.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until December 8, 2024. Early submissions may be featured on social media.

The selected artist receives $2,500, with MW covering shipping costs, and their work included in the collection for future exhibitions. Both the winner and five shortlisted artists will be featured on MW’s website and social platforms. A $40 application fee supports funding future artist opportunities.

The Dayton Society of Artists (DSA) is pleased to present The Future of Female, an exhibition focused on the ideals, hopes, and experiences of women identifying artists. The call for art is open to any women identifying artists who are 18 years or older and who live, work, or attend school in the state of Ohio. All art in any medium, style, and technique will be considered. Art must be original. $600 in prizes will be awarded; the juror is McLean Emenegger.

The DSA is a non-profit member-based organization. It was founded in 1938 and acquired a Victorian house in the 1960s which was then converted into a gallery. The DSA’s mission is to “connect, support, and educate artists and the community.”

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority's (WMATA) Art in Transit program invites Artists/Artist Teams with a demonstrated history of completing complex, permanent, public art projects to submit their qualifications for a permanent public artwork for the Dupont Circle Metro station's iconic North Entrance.

The selected Artist/Artist Team will develop an aesthetically attractive, site-specific public artwork that captures WMATA's mission, and reflects the artistic, cultural and/or historical interests of the surrounding communities. The public artwork is to be implemented within the circular opening of the North Entrance escalator well and integrate elements of biophilia.

On behalf of the City of Lake Oswego, the Arts Council of Lake Oswego (ACLO) is pleased to invite artist submissions of up to three works of art per artist to be considered for outdoor public display in Lake Oswego’s nationally recognized outdoor Gallery Without Walls rotating collection. In its twenty-fifth year, this program’s mission is to integrate art into the daily lives of residents and visitors.

The JCPRD Public Art Program is interested in commissioning an artist or artist team to create a site-specific, temporary art installation at the entrance of Theatre in the Park, located within Shawnee Mission Park, at 7710 Renner Road, Shawnee, KS 66218. The installation will be unveiled during the opening night of Theatre in the Park’s outdoor season in late May 2025 and be on display through fall of 2026. The library is now seeking a visionary sculptor to create large-scale artwork(s) that will complement the restored fountain and breathe new life into the courtyard. The ultimate goal is for the sculpture(s) to provide a shading opportunity with the possibility that the climbing plant material aspect may not be utilized - it really depends on the vision and creativity of each artist!
This sculpture is not just an aesthetic addition but a symbol of renewal and community spirit. It is envisioned as a piece that will resonate with themes of storytelling and literature—an endless narrative that invites contemplation and connection among visitors.

The City is looking to commission an artist located in the tri-county area of Pompano Beach for a work for hire project to design and fabricate that design on a Painted Pompano fish sculpture. The pompano fish is the City’s namesake and a symbol of the identity of Pompano residents. Once completed, the sculpture will be placed at Lyons Park. The Painted Pompano sculpture will be individualized by the artist. The theme for the design is air, land, and sea. An anti-graffiti and UV Resistant Coating must be applied. All applications must be submitted on the provided template and materials must also be listed.

The Artists in Queens Grant supports artists that live in Queens for the creation of new work in a community setting. These grants highlight the role of artists as important members of the community as they enhance the cultural climate in communities and neighborhoods where they live and work. Applicants may make only one project request of $3,000. Unincorporated artist groups and collectives may also apply, with a Queens-based artist member acting as the lead applicant for their proposal. Successful applications will show how the requested funds will: Strengthen community bonds; Increase overall awareness and greater access to cultural activities in Queens; Advance the applicant artist’s career; Engage with the community.
