The Artwork Archive team set out to find the best art opportunities, artist grants, and calls for entry for visual artists in the Southwestern United States.
Below you will find a list of the top artist residencies, international open calls, artist grants, exhibition opportunities and art competitions that we believe will benefit artists, specifically in the Southwest.

2026 Main Street Gallery Fine Art Show & Sale

This juried show and sale invites artists to submit original work for consideration for exhibition and sale at Main Street Gallery. Selected artists have their work displayed and offered for sale to the gallery's visiting public, with the gallery handling transactions and payment to artists after the close of the show. The exhibition excludes photography, video, digital prints, crafts, jewelry, and fiber or fabric work, focusing on framed or gallery-wrapped paintings and similar 2D and dimensional work. Artists are notified of jury decisions by email and accepted work must be hand delivered to the gallery for the run of the show.

- Award Info: Both the Juror and Director Award’s will each receive a copy of the limited edition hardbound fine art book as well as an online solo exhibition and GalleryTalk. The Visitors’ Award is $100 and is selected by most Instagram likes.

Diptychs, Triptychs, Collages and Multiples (more than a Triptych) tell stories. What kind of a storyteller are you?
Photographers of all levels are invited to submit work reflecting the theme "diptych/triptych/multiples/collage" to A Smith Gallery by October 7, 2026. The entry fee is $40 for the first 5 images and $5 for each additional image. Up to forty seven images will be selected for exhibition and shown in the online gallery. An exhibition catalogue with all the accepted images will be available for purchase.
27 images from the total 47 images will be selected for “The 27”, a limited edition hardbound fine art book of the exhibition.
Juror will be Manuela Thames, photographic artist, writer and educator.
