The 14th Annual PleinAir Salon is an online art competition with 12 monthly cycles, and is open to a variety of mediums and styles. It’s not just for plein air painters! They invite a variety of top master artists, museum directors and gallery owners to judge each month. All monthly winners are automatically included in the Annual Competition where the Grand Prize winner receives $15,000 and has their painting featured on the cover of PleinAir Magazine, the #1 representational art magazine at Barnes & Noble.

In addition to a total of $50,000 in ALL Cash Prizes, winners receive exposure and recognition through their various magazines, websites, newsletters and social media platforms.

Ten Moir Gallery invites artists and photographers with a deep appreciation for the wonders of the natural world. Submissions to our online art contests and exhibitions are open to artist from around the world. The MAEP Open Call for the March–June 2026 exhibition launches February 1–28, 2025. The deadline is Friday, February 28, 2025, at 11:59 PM. Decisions will be announced by April 30, 2025. Founded in 1975 as a partnership between the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia) and regional artists, the Minnesota Artists Exhibition Program (MAEP) has become a unique, ongoing relationship lasting fifty years. One application will be selected to receive $13,500 and the opportunity to realize the proposed exhibition in the 2,500-square-foot U.S. Bank Gallery at Mia. The program is only open to Minnesota residents. All applications must be submitted through the Submittable portal.

The Village of Beverly Hills is seeking applications for original sculptures of a size, weight and material suited to an outdoor setting. Selected works will demonstrate the connections between art and the natural environment. The sculptures, to be selected by local artists and approved by the Parks and Recreation Board, will be on loan from the artist to the Village for three years, May 2025 through April 2028. A $1200 stipend will be paid to the artist upon successful installation of the sculpture.

SAC International Curatorial Residency Program 2025 is the residency program at Barcelona's Sant Andreu Contemporani, in collaboration with Fabra i Coats - Fàbrica de Creació de Barcelona, available to international curators. As part of the program, they are announcing an open call for proposals to choose an international curator who will be part of the Miquel Casablancas Prize for the Visual Arts’ jury in 2025, and will later develop a curatorial project with a selection of Catalan artists chosen from applicants to the prize. The project must be presented at the country of residence of the curator or in another international venue that she/he decides.

Each summer the Visitor Center Artist Camp hosts Resident Artists from around the country for two weeks of camping, living cooperatively outdoors, playing, reflecting, and making art in conversation with nature.

The Wild Clay Workshop leads residents through the entire process from prospecting to harvesting, mixing and making, and through various firing processes. This workshop is taught by professional wild clay hunter and co-founder of VCAC, Amy Joy Hosterman, and ceramicist Caitlin Zachow.

Independent Projects Artists in Residence have time and space to explore nature and work on independent art mediums. Artist and educator Stephanie Howells and UP geologist and artist Evan Lanese are on staff to support Independent Residents, providing guidance, access to tools, and connections to resources.

c.r.e.t.a. rome organizes artist residencies for periods of 4 weeks in the spring, summer and fall. The 2024/25 residencies include a shared equipped studio, some technical assistance, access to several electric kilns, advice on museums, galleries and sites in Rome and beyond. The residency fee does not include accommodation. A second residency site in the countryside of Rome is a particularly good option for collaborative projects and/or artists who want to bring their spouses/companions and/or young family (supplemental fee). Housing is included. Residents have a private studio and one-bedroom house. For ceramic artists, there is access to electric and gas kilns, with options for reduction firing.

17th Annual Sunset Valley ARTFEST, April 26, 2025 hosted by the City of Sunset Valley Arts Commission. For the past three years, ARTFEST has had a record number of art and food booths with over 100 artisans showcasing their handmade merchandise including oil paintings, drawings, sculptures, glass creations, jewelry designs, metal and woodwork items, and much more. This is a one-day event from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. with over 8,000 attendees. Webb School of Knoxville is inviting applications from visiting artists for their 2025-2026 artist-in-residence program. Artists spend five weeks working with their students part time and in their own studios part time. Artists are asked to mount an exhibition and donate a representative piece upon completion of their residency. The renovations and new construction of libraries throughout the county bring the opportunity for the library to expand its existing art collection. The School of Art at Kent State University is now accepting proposals for the 2025-26 Curlee Raven Holton & Raven Fine Art Editions Distinguished Art Fellow. The Curlee Raven Holton and Raven Fine Art Editions Distinguished Fellowship has been established to bring globally recognized leaders in art and the academy to the Kent State University School of Art to work with students as teachers, mentors, and critics. The Fellows' engagement will strengthen a critical link between the School of Art at Kent State and the international artistic community. Fellows will give public lectures, exhibit artwork or curate an exhibit, teach workshops, and/or participate in studio visits and critiques. Fellows' work shall be displayed in one of the School of Art Galleries during or just prior to their visit.

The City of Maryland Heights Cultural Art Commission is now accepting proposals for exhibitions in their City Facilities. All entries must be the original, creative work executed by the artist. The mission of the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts is to support established and emerging writers, visual artists and composers by providing working and living environments that allow uninterrupted time for work, reflection and creative growth and to present and support arts-related programming that expands public awareness and appreciation of the arts. Since 2001, KHN has hosted more than 50 working artists each year which include a combination of visual artists, writers, composers, and interdisciplinary artists. Each has found privacy in which to create along with ample opportunities to interact with fellow artists in a vibrant and friendly community located in the rolling bluff country of eastern Nebraska.

Since 1996, ATA has sponsored a biennial, juried exhibition known as the American Tapestry Biennial. This juried exhibition highlights the best of international contemporary handwoven tapestry and has showcased hundreds of professional and amateur tapestry artists since its inception. The exhibition will feature not only artists who work within more traditional definitions of tapestry but also those who explore the core principles of the medium in conjunction with alternative processes and techniques.
American Tapestry Biennial 15 will be on view at the Epiphany Center for the Arts in Chicago, IL from August 1, 2025, through September 26, 2025.

Blue Space Gallery - “Earth, Fire, Air, Water”, an international competition and virtual exhibition. Artists of all ages from around the world are invited to participate, with complete freedom in choosing their medium and style. Submissions should revolve around the central theme of “Earth, Fire, Air, Water”. Entry is free; only those artists whose submissions are chosen as finalists will be required to pay a $35 participation fee. Finalists will have their artwork showcased in the online exhibition and will advance to the final jurying round in consideration for cash prizes and the opportunity to win the grand prize of $1,000. Awards will be granted to those whose work demonstrates the greatest level of creativity and artistry.

Dorland Mountain Arts is a beautiful retreat where artists, writers, musicians, and composers can create in a secluded and protected natural setting. Dorland is located near Temecula Valley Wine Country, about 100 miles south of Los Angeles and sixty miles north of San Diego. The Community Arts Center provides a library with Dorland works and a large writing desk with a typewriter, a meeting room, and a studio room for visual artists. The extensive grounds feature a reflecting pond, a small lake with a rowboat, and hiking trails that wind through the property. Dorland invites residency requests from visual, literary (or other writing) and composing or performing artists. Residency stays may be as short as one week or as long as 6 weeks, based on requests and availability.

There are many ways to imagine it, to perceive it in day-to-day life: living life in the hyphen, tales of Persephone or Charon, physical places, story and memory, and the transitional metaphysics of space, time, and imagination. Liminal spaces are all around and passing through them regularly, but lest people stop and think about them, they are often forgotten or deliberately ignored: the forgotten in-between. In their fifth call for submissions, they propose taking the time to slow down, to pause in limbo and consider these transitory places and phases of the human experience, to explore the very state that takes people from where they were to where they are going.

Situated in the center of Oregon, over 200,000 people call Deschutes County home. Central Oregon, widely known for its stunning mountains, rivers, pine forests and recreational opportunities, will now be home to a new 100,000 square foot library in east Bend known as Stevens Ranch, a new branch library in Redmond and completely renovated and renewed libraries in the communities of La Pine, Sunriver and Sisters and in historic downtown Bend. The project is funded by a voter approved bond measure. 1% of the brick and mortar costs are reserved for the purchase of art. The 2025 Art Speaks Juried Exhibition prospectus is now available on their website. The show is open to any artist living or working in Virginia, 18 or older. Both 2D and 3D media are eligible, and $6,350 in prize money is available for award. This year's juror and judge is Diego Sanchez. Online submission of entries begin December 1, 2024. Submit application and artwork via their website. The exhibition will be on display April 26-May 26, 2025, with the opening reception and awards ceremony on April 26. Eligible media include: 2D – painting and drawing all media, mixed media and printmaking, fine art photography; 3D – ceramic, glass, wood or metal functional ware, sculpture in any media, fiber art.

Art Under the Elms is a juried art festival organized by the Lewis-Clark State College Center for Arts & History. The event provides a platform for artists and vendors to showcase their work to a diverse audience. Applicants can submit up to three applications for this show. The festival aims to celebrate artistic expression and foster community engagement through the arts.

This workshop will focus on the storytelling qualities of quilts. Using a series of narrative prompts designed to draw out personal stories, beginning to advanced students will be guided through the process of making experimental quilts. Instruction will be geared toward hand-sewing techniques such as stitches, appliqué, embroidery, quilting, and finishing (sewing machines will also be available). Other topics will include color relationships, elements of composition, and visual storytelling concepts. We will work with repurposed cloth; thrift shop trips are on the itinerary. A willingness to mess up will be a definite plus. All levels. Upper textiles studio.

The Tarleton State University Department of Visual Arts & Design is thrilled to announce the 27th annual Rio Brazos Juried Art Exhibition. This year’s exhibition will be juried by artist Layla Luna. Open to all varieties of media, this exhibition aims to curate a selection of exemplary contemporary work from artists around the country. All proceeds from the exhibition will go to scholarships for the Department of Visual Arts & Design at Tarleton State University.

The exhibition will open on April 5, 2025 at the Dora Lee Langdon Cultural & Educational Center in Granbury, Texas and runs every weekend through April 27th.

Prairie Ronde Artist Residency offers artists from a range of disciplines a 5 – 6 week residency in the historic Village of Vicksburg, Michigan. Offering a unique environment for our artists to develop their craft: the 420,000 square foot former Lee Paper Company mill and its adjacent 80 acres of property. Prairie Ronde is hosted by The Mill at Vicksburg, a redevelopment project of the former Lee Paper Company mill, whose extensive and ongoing plans focus on sustainability. The goal is to bring artists into the space to engage with The Mill’s historic legacy and its monumental transformation.

Artists harness dreams, folklore, and personal intuition as creative tools to envision new realities and to cultivate new possibilities of the unknown. By merging imagination and contemplation of the unfathomable depths of space and human existence, artists develop contemplations of reality that extend beyond the material world. In Beyond The Veil, they invite artists based in the United States to explore contemporary interpretations of surrealism and the supernatural.

Applications for City of Moonee Valley’s Biannual Community Grants are now open! Whether you’re a First Peoples-led organisation, local business owner, artist, community group or social enterprise they’ve got grants available to help you fund your dream project. Apply for up to $10,000 for arts projects and events or festivals that benefit the Moonee Valley community. Commercial events can also apply for up to $5,000. They’ll be running a series of grant writing workshops to make the application process easier.
