Pottery Farm Gallery offers a serene artist residency in the French countryside, accommodating up to five creative practitioners at a time. Residents live and work on a hillside farmhouse with 360° views of rolling hills and the Pyrenees mountain range. The farmhouse features five spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms, two lounges, and a large kitchen with a log fire and heat pump. Artists are responsible for their own equipment, though access to the ceramics studio may be arranged upon special request and availability. The residency is self-funded and self-directed, with durations of up to one month. Applications are accepted year-round.

Each of the six finalists will receive a $1,000 honorarium to help offset their expenses. In addition, $1,000 will be awarded to the artist who is the recipient of the annual “People’s Choice Award.” Artists will receive substantial recognition and opportunity to sell; therefore, all pieces must be for sale. The placement of selected pieces will begin in May, 2025 and will be on display until May, 2026.
The selected pieces will be installed for a period of one year at E.B. Rains. Submitted sculptures are to be garden-sized or larger (at least three feet in one dimension). For outdoor display only.

The SCG ART program brings established artists to Placer County for the purpose of teaching and sharing their artistic talents and experience to the greater community. The program was lovingly established at the Placer Community Foundation (PCF) in memory of a local artist, Susan Cooley Gilliom, by her family. This is a national call for artists to apply for this annual residency opportunity. This residency offers a large studio space, funding for projects, and the opportunity to teach workshops in a formal setting.

Black Box Gallery is excited to announce a juried group photo show on shadow and light. Photography is the documentation of patterns of darkness and light. Shadows enhance the relationships of subjects in an image, they give definition and dimension, which complements the quality of the light values. Photographers have used dramatic shadows and patterns in black and white images and have also explored using ethereal and moody shadows and textures in color photography. They will be looking for a range of how shadow and light are interpreted by contemporary photographers.

Selected works will be displayed at Queen City Clay from February 28 to April 10, 2025, with an opening reception on February 28, 2025, from 5–8 pm.
