The Marblehead Arts Association invites artists nationwide to participate in "Variations 2025," an eight-week juried exhibition showcasing diverse 2D and 3D artworks. Submissions will be evaluated for acceptance and judged for prizes in Fine Art, Photography, and 3D categories. The exhibition runs from April 19 to June 14, 2025, with an opening reception and awards ceremony on April 20, 2025. Artists aged 18 and older are eligible to apply.

The McNeese State University Department of Visual Arts invites artists nationwide to submit entries for the 38th Annual McNeese National Works on Paper Exhibition. This juried exhibition seeks original artworks completed within the last two years that incorporate paper as a primary element. Selected works will be displayed in the Grand Gallery from March 20 to May 2, 2025, with an opening reception and awards presentation on March 27, 2025.

Car-Free Earth Day transforms NYC streets into active and attractive public spaces with the addition of public art, performances, workshops, and demonstrations. Environmental programming is offered by City agencies and nonprofit organizations along the routes to promote activism and education surrounding climate change, sustainability, and other relevant topics. NYC DOT invites all professional artists to submit proposals for new or existing artwork to be installed at Car-Free Earth Day sites as designated by NYC DOT as a one-day installation. The display structure and attachments must be compliant with the requirements stipulated. The majority of available sites for art installations are concrete sidewalks or asphalt street spaces.

The Local Contemporary Art Prize 2025 is a highly anticipated annual exhibition at Caloundra Regional Gallery, showcasing the breadth of contemporary arts practice from emerging, mid-career and established visual artists residing on the Sunshine Coast. Caloundra Regional Gallery, in partnership with The Gallery’s Friends, invites artists living within the Sunshine Coast and Noosa regions and working across all mediums to submit 2D and 3D works for the Local Contemporary Art Prize 2025. Forty finalists will be selected for the exhibition and winners will share $17,000 in prize money, thanks to this year’s sponsors: Friends of the Gallery, Mary Henzell Investments, Local Agent Caloundra and Community Bank Caloundra – Bendigo Bank. The winning artwork will also be acquired into the Sunshine Coast Art Collection.

The Graphic Arts Biennale, established in 1999, is a cyclical review/competition presenting the works of young-generation artists working in the area of graphic arts. IMPORT/EXPORT is the theme of the 14th Graphic Arts Biennale, which will take place in Poznań in the spring of 2025. It refers to the hierarchy of dependencies between core countries and the periphery that lead to cultural self-colonization and perpetuate this division of the world. Here, import and export allude to the exchange of culture-forming artistic phenomena. The competition is addressed to artists from all over the world, aged 18 to 40 years. In stage one, preview files of original graphic works together with a short description of the idea and technique used shall be sent by 10 February 2025 using the online Application Form.

Mother’s Milk is an interdisciplinary residency (2, 4, 6 weeks) designed to support visual artists, sound artists/composers, dancer/choreographers, writers or other creatives who are pursuing innovative work in their field. The goal of this program is to provide individuals or collaborative teams with the time and space to pursue their creative projects alongside other residents whose different perspectives, backgrounds and interests offer inspiration and interaction. Work that is more experimental in nature without regard to commercial viability is of special interest, a focus on process over product. Residents have studios in a 1,500 sq. ft. hay barn studio and share housing in a fully renovated 1898 farmhouse.

The sublime transcends the limits of language, immersing us in awe, reverence, and introspection. The chemical phenomenon of sublimation is characterized by a transition or conversion as a result of a change in energy. SUBLIME is an exhibition of sculpture and installation that embodies these concepts, inviting artists to present works that challenge perceptions, stir emotions, and explore transitions.

MacDowell provides time, space, and an inspiring residential environment to artists of exceptional talent. A MacDowell Fellowship, or residency, consists of exclusive use of a studio, accommodations, and three prepared meals a day for up to six weeks. There are no residency fees, and MacDowell offers financial assistance to reimburse the costs of direct travel to and from the residency, as well as expenses that artists expect to incur while in residence, including rent, lost income, and childcare. MacDowell Fellows are selected by an admissions panel, which is comprised of a revolving group of distinguished professionals in each artistic discipline who serve anonymously for up to three years.

The TARTGET PRIZE International Painting Competition invites artists from all over the world to participate in its first edition. It is one of the most important competitions in the world dedicated to promoting art and creating opportunities for emerging artists, while consolidating the reputation of distinguished painters. With more than €50,000 in prize money and international recognition awards through collaborations with magazines, galleries, fine art materials and art scholarships, there are more than 50 prizes in total. There are 10 categories in which works can be submitted. Works of all styles are accepted, including hyperrealism, photorealism, contemporary realism, imaginative realism, fantastic realism, surrealism, impressionism, expressionism, plein air painting, contemporary, abstraction and any other type of representative painting.

The Forecast Mentorships are designed to support audacious thinkers and creators in producing their project ideas with support from experts. Wild or cultivated, plants of all kinds define landscapes, provide a sense of place, and connect to the natural world. Whether captured in the landscape, a garden, or a studio, they are looking for images that reveal the spirit and character of plants as well as intimate connection to them. All photographic styles and processes are welcome.
They are honored to have Wendi Schneider as juror for Monochrome. She will select up to 35 images for exhibition in our Middlebury, Vermont gallery and another 40 images for their Online Gallery. The Allianz Foundation is inviting applications for its 2025 Grants Program to support civil society, ecological, cultural, and artistic initiatives. Special emphasis is given to projects intersecting these fields and pursuing systemic transformation. Eligible projects should contribute to Allianz Foundation’s mission of fostering just societies, resilient communities, and climate-neutral futures. The 24th Annual Gardendale Magnolia Festival, scheduled for April 26, 2025, is an award-winning, family-friendly event held at the Gardendale Civic Center Complex. The festival features over 150 vendors, two stages of live entertainment, a pooch parade, car show, free kid zone, petting zoo, pony rides, and more. Admission and parking are free. Artists and vendors are encouraged to register on Friday to locate their booth space and avoid lines on Saturday morning.

The Pearl Beach Arboretum Ephemeral Art Trail (PBEAT) aims to create inspiring temporary public art that promotes nature conservation, supports community identity and increases the cultural vibrancy. A $250 travel allowance for out-of-town artists will also be awarded. This highly recognized and esteemed show is located in downtown Carbondale on Main St. and the Rio Grande Trail. The Public Art Commission assists in the marketing and sales of the sculptures to enhance the possibility of an artist commission. An Artist Reception and Community Art Walk takes place on June 5, 2025, and offers every artist an opportunity to market and speak about their sculpture.

You may be eligible for a one-time Rauschenberg Dancer Emergency Grant of up to $3,000. Cycle 17 will be open January 14 - February 11 for essential expenses including rent, utilities, medicine/healthcare, and food. The City of Wilsonville, Oregon is requesting qualifications from talented artist(s) and/or artist team(s) to create a new and engaging public artwork(s) for Boones Ferry Park, a ~15-acre park adjacent to the Willamette River. This park is intended to serve the larger community as well as the local neighborhood. The theme for this Public Art Project is “The Essence of the River.” The Willamette River flows from west to east through town and was historically the site of a ferry and sternwheeler landing. It is desired that the artwork(s) celebrates and pulls inspiration from the river and surrounding natural areas in the park. The artwork(s) should be site-specific and engaging for users of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.

This is a call for art for the Grove Gallery's Spring Exhibition titled "Radiance: Works About Light." There is an exquisite quality to light that painters strive to capture in their work. Whether the subject is a figure, a landscape, or an abstraction, artists who understand light know that it is a powerful tool. They pay attention to the temperature and the mood of the light. Weather and the seasons convey also certain moods--they are a reminder that everything changes. They encourage all painters, draftspersons and printmakers to apply. Prints are limited to original, hand-pulled etchings, lithographs and mono prints. Giclee prints and photographs are not accepted.

Artists working in craft/traditional arts, design, literary, media/film, performing, visual, and interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary arts are invited to apply for $500 relief stipends. This opportunity is open to professional artists 18 years or older whose artistic practice generates any portion of their income. This relief stipend is intended for individual artists only. The South Washington Watershed District (SWWD) seeks a creative fine art aerial photographer and/or aerial videographer to celebrate and document the landscapes, ecosystems, natural resources, and diverse inhabitants that call southern Washington County home. The lengthened term of the artist’s residency is designed to allow exploration throughout the seasons and remove arbitrary timeline limitations from creative project ideas. SWWD is interested in discovering new ways of envisioning, connecting, and valuing its water resources while recognizing different perspectives and ways of knowing. Through this program, SWWD hopes to incorporate unique ideas and views into SWWD programs and projects while promoting and achieving water quality improvement by providing visibility to the watershed and its natural resources.

Hopkins ArtStreet is a select, juried public art display centered on charming, historic Mainstreet in Hopkins, MN (15 minutes from downtown Minneapolis). Artists working in all outdoor-tolerant media are invited to apply. Accepted artwork is displayed for approximately one year

Long Meadow Art Residency is a six week – three-month solo residency in the Berkshires. LMAR offers studio space and housing, allowing time for artists to retreat and deepen their practice. The residency provides a $3,000 monthly living stipend, a $2,500 supply budget, as well as access to a vehicle for transportation. 

Alderworks welcomes writers and artists every summer to work in cabins on the edge of the wilderness in historic and stunningly beautiful Dyea near Skagway, Alaska. The purpose of Alderworks is to enhance the creative process. They host residents in three cabins for 4-6 week summer residencies. Artists also have access to a studio building. Applicants are screened in the winter for the following summer's two residency periods. Residency fee applies.

The Keyholder Residency Program offers emerging artists free 24-hour access to printmaking facilities to develop new work and foster their artistic careers. Keyholders work independently, in a productive atmosphere alongside other contemporary artists. Artists from all disciplines are eligible to apply; printmaking skills are not required, but some familiarity with the medium is recommended. Basic instruction in printmaking techniques is available for new Keyholders. Applications are evaluated by an invited panel of artists, critics, curators, and art professionals. A total of 8 artists are awarded the residency annually. Artists based in the New York City area and without access to a studio space are encouraged to apply.
