The International Watermedia Exhibition (IWE) is one of two juried exhibitions held annually, the other being the Annual Members Exhibit (AME). Selected by a renowned juror and judge, the paintings receive exposure in a month-long, open-to-the-public gallery exhibit as well as an online exhibit that lasts through the end of the year. The Good Hart Artist Residency offers 10- to 21-day stays for visual artists, writers, and composers at any stage of their career. The Hambidge Center is situated on 600 forested acres in the mountains of north Georgia and offers miles of nature trails, meadows, waterfalls, a swimming hole and an abundance of wildflowers.
The oldest residency program in the Southeast, Hambidge provides a self-directed program that honors the creative process and trusts individuals to know what they need to cultivate their talent, whether it’s to work and produce, to think, to experiment or to rejuvenate. Residents’ time is their own; there are no workshops, critiques, nor required activities.
Each resident is given their own private studio which provides work and living space with a bathroom and full kitchen. The studios are designed to protect residents’ time, space and solitude.
Resident groups are intentionally kept small enough (8-10 people) to gather around the dinner table each evening, Tuesday through Friday, for delicious vegetarian meals prepared by our chef. These communal meals are an essential part of the Hambidge residency experience. Serious topics are discussed (and light-hearted ones, too), experiences are shared, and encouragement is given. Many a collaboration and life-long friendship have begun at the Hambidge dinner table.

The Compact is pleased to offer residences for C-Scape and Fowler Dune Shacks in the Cape Cod National Seashore, available April through November for the general public with applications due January 15, 2025. The Compact also offers three, 3-week artist and two writer residencies including a residency for an emerging artist of color, named for the late David Bethuel Jamieson, a Black artist who spent time in Provincetown and died of AIDS in 1992. The top recipient of this residency will receive three funded weeks in the C-Scape Dune Shack and a $500 fellowship. Another 3-week stay also includes a $500 fellowship. Artist residents are selected by a jury.

The Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program awards rent-free studio space to 17 visual artists for yearlong residencies. The program is in the DUMBO neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, home to art galleries, independent restaurants and shops, and creative professionals. Studios are near public parks, the city waterfront, and many forms of transit. Artist studios are accessible 24/7, include freight and passenger elevator access, and high ceilings. The 2026–2027 Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program residency period will last from September 2026 through August 2027, with an open studios weekend planned for the spring of 2027. The Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program has provided working studio space and community for artists since 1991. Artists are selected annually based on merit from a competitive pool of applicants by a professional jury comprised of artists and members of the Artists Advisory Committee.

Emmanuel's Artist-in-Residence program supports a diverse group of artists, providing time and space for established and emerging artists to develop their work.
The Emmanuel College Art Department offers a six-week artists residency to four artists each summer from early-June to mid-July.
The Art Department specifically aims to award a residency to one individual from each of the four categories: Ceramics, Photography, Printmaking and Social Practice. Fostering creative and artistic excellence, the residency also plays an important role in advancing the visual arts in the Emmanuel community.
The residency defines Emmanuel College as a leader in the visual arts and brings greater visibility to that leadership role beyond the confines of the College.

Ucross strives to provide a respectful, comfortable, and productive environment, freeing artists from the pressures and distractions of daily life. Each year, we provide residencies to approximately 115 individuals. Residencies range from two weeks to six weeks in length. At any one time, there are up to ten individuals in residence, typically four writers, four visual artists, and two composers. Ucross provides each artist with living accommodations, meals, work space, and uninterrupted time so that the artists can focus on their creative process. Lunch and dinners are prepared Monday to Friday by a professional chef with ample provisions on hand for breakfasts and weekends. Lunches are delivered to individual studios; group dinners take place at 6 p.m. Towels and all linens are provided, as is weekly housekeeping for bedrooms. There is cell phone service and wireless internet throughout residency facilities. Residents are responsible for providing their own working materials and for their travel to Sheridan, Wyoming. There is no charge for a residency.

The Ucross Fellowship for Native American Artists supports the work of contemporary Native American visual artists, writers, and performers. Selected fellows receive a four-week residency that provides uninterrupted time for creative work, private studio space, living accommodations, meals prepared by a professional chef, a stipend, and the inspiring setting of the High Plains. Each fellowship also includes a $2,000 award and the opportunity to share work publicly through a featured exhibition in the Ucross Art Gallery, a reading, or a performance.
Established in 2018 with initial support from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, the fellowship began by serving Native American visual artists. In 2020, following the success of its first two years, Ucross received funding from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to continue the program and expand it to include Native American writers. In 2024, additional NEA funding further extended the fellowship’s reach to support Native American performers, reflecting Ucross’s ongoing commitment to amplifying Indigenous voices across disciplines.

Paradise Center for the Arts is seeking submissions of recent artwork from visual artists for exhibitions in the Carlander Family Gallery, Lois Vranesh Boardroom Gallery, and K&M Gallery, for a group exhibition titled The Art of Healing and Recovery. They are also seeking submissions from recovering artists from the literary arts and music composition/performance arts to perform live at the Gallery Opening Reception. This exhibition will feature individuals of all artistic abilities whose artwork played(s) a pivotal role in their healing and recovery processes from addiction, mental illness, grief and loss, physical malady, and emotional/physical trauma. Visual artwork (2D & 3D) will be installed in their three galleries. Literary art (poetry, flash fiction/short short story) and music composition/performance will be included in the exhibition via performing live at the Gallery Opening Reception.
