Founded in 2007, JTHAR is a nonprofit artist residency that fosters creativity through opportunities for exploring, experimenting, quiet reflection, engagement and cross-cultural exchange with the vibrant local artist community. Each year we invite 4-6 artists from around the world to create work amidst the beauty of Joshua Tree National Park.

The Good Hart Artist Residency located in Good Hart, Michigan offers 2-3 week residencies to dedicated visual artists and writers. The residency provides a 1,150 sqft residency and a 24×14 detached studio, food, a $500.00 stipend, and a quiet setting to concentrate on creative work. The resident artist is housed in a rural area within walking distance of Lake Michigan and the village of Good Hart, along the “Tunnel of Trees,” a Scenic Heritage Route. The Good Hart Artist Residency offers a solitary experience by primarily hosting one resident at a time.

Saratoga Clay Art Center’s national juried exhibition, FIRED/ON, curated by Vermont potter and artist Jessica Putnam-Phillips, seeks functional or vessel oriented ceramic works that explore the myriad of expressions that come from the use of decals and image transfers – basically all that is FIRED/ON.

SUMMER IN VOLCANO COUNTRY ON MAUI in HAWAI’I

NPAF is again offering a summer Haleakalā National Park residency. Spend the month of July 2023 in a spacious house just outside this national park. This diverse park consists of a dormant but massive volcanic crater on sacred land, amazing lunar landscapes and trails, the largest collection of beautiful and endangered species of any park in the park system, groves of exotic trees and bamboo, and rainforests that run down to Maui’s iconic coastlines. And Georgia O’Keeffe painted here, along the coast and the v-shaped valleys too. NPAF’s past artists in residence include Astrophotographer Stan Honda, Landscape Pianist Hunter Noack, and a few others. This is a chance in a lifetime for Artists! Please Note: this is not an National Park Service (NPS) affiliated residency this year

THIS RESIDENCY FEATURES:

• $ 3,000 + any direct donations to artists (this can be upwards of $28,000 +)

Artists are invited to apply for one of South Florida's premiere juried art shows, the Panter, Panter & Sampedro Fine Arts Festival, held January 21 & 22, 2023 at Pinecrest Gardens in Pinecrest, Florida. This winter, Exhibizone, the organizer of smart art exhibitions, presents the 9th edition of SoloS, an opportunity to showcase your art in a unique solo international online exhibition and receive thousands of international visitors, intensive exposure, online promotion, and media coverage.

New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) is proud to partner with the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation to administer a new emergency grant program called Rauschenberg Emergency Grants. Eligible expenses include, but are not limited to: hospital and doctor bills (including insurance co-pays), tests, physical/occupational therapy, prescription drugs specifically for the emergency medical condition, and emergency dental work.

A juried exhibit dedicated to the presentation of functional ceramics, focusing on the fine art of dining, including serving vessels, place settings, platters, and dinner table décor. Proceeds from the sale of work, and associated events that will showcase the work, will benefit the Art Students League of Denver and its ceramics program.

The 46th Annual International Watermedia Exhibition (IWE) is Houston's premier watermedia event, showcasing the excellence of artists from around the world in a gallery exhibit held in Houston's popular Museum District. In March 2023, entries selected by widely sought-after exhibit juror and judge, Brenda Swenson, will receive maximal exposure in a month-long gallery exhibit as well as an online exhibit that will last through the end of the year. Additionally, participants have the opportunity to win awards totaling more than $10,000.

The City of Pasadena is excited to embark upon the fourth iteration of the Rotating Public Art Program which will include the phased installation of eight public artworks at existing City-owned sites throughout Pasadena. Artists will receive an honorarium of $8,000 for existing loaned artworks, and $12,000 for commissioned artworks to cover all related costs.

This Fellowship is designed to offer artists, from a range of artistic disciplines, an environment conducive to individual and collaborative creative practice, and provides a unique opportunity to complete a new body of work at Pyramid Atlantic Art Center. Applicants should have an interest and potential in printmaking, paper arts and book arts (or a combination thereof), as well as the quality and clarity of his/her plan for the residency.

This theme is open for interpretation. It could be a winter landscape, an abstract piece, or just feature the color blue! We want to see your take on "Winter Blues."

The Rhode Island Watercolor Society is proud to support watercolor and other traditional watermedia materials and methods. With the growth of the arts industry comes the introduction of new equipment and practices. As the options for art making expand, so must the horizons of the Rhode Island Watercolor Society guidelines for our open juried shows.

The Louisiana Percent for Art Program is seeking artists or artist teams to design and implement three thematically related exterior, site-specific sculptures or installations of original design for the Music & Dramatic Arts Building, Band Hall, and Cypress Residential Hall at Louisiana State University (one artist or artist team will be chosen to execute ALL THREE). The artwork should actively engage students, faculty, and visitors in creative interactive experiences that emphasize the meaning and value of music. This commission is open nationally to professional artists 18 and over.

Hambidge provides a self-directed program that honors the creative process and trusts individuals to know what they need to cultivate their talent, whether it's to work and produce, to think, to experiment or to rejuvenate. Artists of all ages and creative disciplines are invited to apply.

New Tang Dynasty Television seeks entries for a juried art exhibition,June 2023 at Salmagundi Club (tentative) in New York, NY. ART SHOW INTERNATIONAL GALLERY announces their "6th ANIMAL" International Juried Art Competition. All visual artists from around the world are invited to submit their best artworks on the theme for inclusion in the exhibition. All types of art styles may be submitted, including both 2D and 3D works, painting, sculpture, digital, printmaking, fiber, photography, graphic, mixed media, as well as experimental and installation works.

​​The theme of this international juried art competition is ANIMAL. For this theme, feel free to represent any animal, from the teeny-tiny insects to the massive blue whales, and even fictional, mythological, or imagined creatures. Artists are free to apply their own interpretation in representing the overall theme. Representational and abstract ideas based broadly on this theme, in any media, will be considered. Saltonstall offers free residencies to artists and writers who are current residents of New York State and/or one of the Indian Nations located therein. Our residencies are designed for those looking for a quiet, supportive environment in which to focus on their craft.

In 2019, we piloted a new program: a free six-night residency specifically for artist/writer parents with at least one dependent child under the age of 18 at home. This new residency was a huge success, and is now in its fourth year.

Each residency session includes the same combination of five artists and writers: one poet, one fiction or creative nonfiction writer, one photographer or filmmaker, and two visual artists. These residencies are designed for individual artists and writers.

Although the images flickering and manifesting behind our eyes may seem bizarre and nonsensical, analysis of one's dreams can reveal their essence. Beneath the surface of our consciousness, the latent content of dreams illustrates the hidden meaning of our thoughts, drives, and desires. We suppress the manifestation of our unconscious to defend ourselves from primitive emotions that are especially difficult to contend with. What is revealed to you as you sleep and perchance to dream? What images make you stop and ask—am I dreaming?

Wave Farm’s Media Arts Assistance Fund for individual artists provides support for the completion and/or public presentation of new works in all genres of sound and moving image art, including emergent technology. New York state artists may apply for up to $7,500. Women, gender non-conforming people, and people of color are encouraged to apply.

The St. George Art Festival began in 1980, showcasing the many artists who call St. George their home. Since then it has expanded to include over 110 artists juried from hundreds of entries from throughout the United States. Festival goers enjoy thousands of original works of art, live entertainment on two stages, a vibrant children's area, and foods of all kinds. Over 30,000 residents and visitors from around the West converge in the beautiful town of St. George on Easter weekend, one of the busiest travel weekends of the year. The festival is set in the beautiful Town Square with its carousel, fountains and water features, flower gardens, and historic buildings. The Art Festival is known for consistently outstanding artwork, and treating artists as special guests.

We’ve all been there: trudging through snow, trying to shield our faces from wind so cold it hurts, questioning our lives and life itself.

One thing this pandemic has taught us is how to better appreciate the simple joys of staying in, being with people you care about, and enjoying art together, from watching a film to browsing an online art exhibition—really!

Creating interactive exhibitions—such as 2016’s acclaimed LEXICON and 2012’s acclaimed I CAN DO THAT—had been in Chicago artist and independent curator Jenny Lam’s wheelhouse. When Lam pivoted to digital exhibits during the pandemic, this resulted in such shows as 2020’s acclaimed SLAYSIAN, which not only garnered praise but also had outlets remarking on the very nature of the virtual platform:

Sixty Inches from Center: “Since she couldn’t bring audiences to see the show in person, she brought SLAYSIAN directly to audiences, transforming it into an online exhibition we can view from the safety of our homes. The Anderson Center at Tower View in Red Wing, Minnesota invites emerging, mid-career, and established visual artists, writers, composers, choreographers, multidisciplinary artists, musicians, performance artists, scholars, translators and more based anywhere in the world to apply for cohort-based residencies in July, September, October, and November of 2023. The program is interdisciplinary, and the organization welcomes applications from a wide range of creative and intellectual genres, including those that don’t fit neatly into the above list.

Month-long residencies in July, September, and October with rare exceptions made for two-week stays. Additionally, a 2-week session is also taking place the first half of November 2023.

Art Council of England’s DYCP supports individuals who are cultural and creative practitioners and want to take time to focus on their creative development. In the most recent round of DYCP, 824 individuals and freelancers were supported to reshape and redefine their work during the pandemic.

The Helene Wurlitzer Foundation of New Mexico (HWF) is a private, 501(c)(3) non-profit, educational and charitable organization committed to supporting the arts.

Founded in 1954, the HWF manages one of the oldest artist residency programs in the USA. The Foundation’s mission is to “Support the artist and the creative process” and serves as a haven for visual artists, literary artists and music composers.

The Helene Wurlitzer Foundation is located on fifteen acres in the heart of Taos, New Mexico, a multicultural community renowned for its popularity with artists.

Adolph Gottlieb, one of the artists known for initiating the Abstract Expressionism movement, achieved artistic and financial success far beyond his early expectations. But, he had several colleagues who, despite their artistic achievements, were not able to support themselves financially. The Gottlieb Foundation wishes to encourage artists who have dedicated their lives to developing their art, regardless of their level of commercial success.

International Call for Artists: Public Sculpture or Installation
The Village of Saranac Lake in New York is seeking proposals from any professional artist or artist teams for a Sculpture or Installation for Riverfront or Prescott Park on the shoreline of Lake Flower. The intention of the project is to enhance the park experience without distracting from the original purpose of the parks of providing green spaces for the community. Artists are encouraged to consider the Village theme of “Decidedly Different”, and the culture and history of Saranac Lake, but it is not required.

This annual show is the most anticipated of the year. As the name suggests, this exhibition features pieces created by artists working in a wide variety of media from all over the 65,000 square miles that make up Florida. The juried entries come together for an award-winning and exciting exhibition representing today’s contemporary Florida artists. The exhibition will be on display March 3 – April 1, 2023.

In this self-directed residency, you will have the space to work away from the constraints of everyday life, delve deep into your creative project, and take advantage of the artistic community of your peers. You will have opportunities for consultations with faculty and guests, Matt Madden, Bishakh Som, and Annie Koyama; who specialize in comics, illustration, publishing, and writing; and the option to engage in readings and group sessions, that allow creators to explore techniques, aspects, and devices that you may find useful in your practice. With all program elements being optional, this flexible program allows you to choose the amount of support you are looking for.

Now celebrating its 51st year, the Indianapolis Art Center’s OneAmerica Broad Ripple Art Fair attracts an average of 12,000 visitors and offers an opportunity for the public to meet fine art & craft artists from the U.S. and Canada.
The OneAmerica Broad Ripple Art Fair is located on the grounds of the Indianapolis Art Center designed by Hoosier Architect Michael Graves and its 9.5-acre ARTSPARK. Located in the Broad Ripple Village Cultural District— a cultural arts, shopping, night club, and dining district—the Indianapolis Art Center is next to the popular Monon Trail urban greenway.

The City of Wichita is seeking qualified artists for three public sculpture art commissions on the grounds of the new Northwest Water Facility (NWWF). The facility is expected to be operational by the end of 2024. The artwork for the project is expected to be installed by the end of 2023. The new water treatment facility will be built near 21st N and Hoover, directly northeast of the Sedgwick County Zoo. The new water treatment plant will serve the city of Wichita, surrounding communities, industries, and wholesale customers. The new plant will provide 120 million gallons per day of drinking water and will replace the aging Main Water Treatment Plant.

NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowships, awarded in fifteen different disciplines over a three-year period, are $8,000 cash awards made to individual originating artists living and working in the state of New York for unrestricted use. These fellowships are not project grants but are intended to fund an artist’s vision or voice, regardless of the level of his or her artistic development.
