I just love that first dusting of snow we get in the fall, while autumn colors still grace the hills. This was one of those days last year, along Route 15 opposite the old Clarkâs Truck Stop. The format of this painting allowed for the cropping out of the house just below this view.
The challenge with this painting is that when the trees are not full of leaves, or completely coated with heavy snow, it can be hard to get that light, airy look. It took several light coats of paint before I was happy with how they looked. It was a rewarding painting experience.
