I spend a lot of time scouting around Vermont looking for locations to paint. I've learned that if I plan a few hours to check a location or look for places to paint, I should always have an additional few hours free for the inevitable discoveries I make along the way.
The inpiration for this is somewhere in the Northeast Kingdom, along route 5, and I passed by it twice before realizing there was a painting to be had. I should have taken notes on the location. It's a pretty little scene that is common along the backroads of Vermont. It's part of what I love about where I live, there is inspiration everywhere, sometimes in the most unexpected places.
