Hazens Notch is located in Westfield Vermont, and the drive over Hazens Notch Road offers a multitude of good views. For this painting I chose one lower down on the west side looking back towards the notch. This painting challenged me a fair bit with a very messy and chaotic foreground, which I tried to simplify some but express the overall feeling without it engaging the views to strongly so that the eye quickly travels upward to the view on the horizon.
