Majestic Mount Mansfield. Painted often from a vantage point on Bryce Hill in Cambridge. For this painting, however, I used a fabulous photo, with permission, from photographer Francois De Melogue, who took this arial shot from above Bryce Hill using his drone. The moment I first came across his photo I knew I wanted to paint it. The high vantage point gave this very popular view a new perspective, and the way the mount dominates the foreground gives it a gravitas I haven't seen in other paintings of Vermonts highest peak.
