I painted this piece, using the direct method, all done in one sitting (all prima), painting wet paint into wet paint. I started with the sky and worked my way down the painting. “Sweet Road View, Cambridge Vermont” is the same size done over multiple sessions working around the canvas, and in layers. What is known as an in-direct method of paining.
I wanted to explore how the two methods compared in the end result. Honestly I did not come away with any great insights, other than both were fun to paint.
The view is along route 128 in Westford.
