I love the shapes of pears - especially Bosc pears - and I love to paint and draw them in rhythmic dialogues with each other. This painting represents a still life which includes Bosc pears, a bottle, a pair of scissors, clamp lights and the view of the green factory building across the creek from my studio, creating a near and far sense of space. The movement of one pear nudges another and then the second pear plays into the directionality of a third pear and so on and so on. The interplay of grays against yellows, greens, umbers, and the golden red hues of the pears gave me great delight while making this work.
