I often draw and sometimes paint from great artists of the past. This painting started out as a copy of a painting by one of my favorite artists, Pierre Bonnard, who is one of the superb colorists of the 20th Century. Over time, the painting evolved into a joyful translation of Bonnard - unabashedly infused with my own spirit.
