My process here, although entirely digital, is the exact reverse of AI image-making. A human eye, soul and mind are being stimulated and delighted. The result lives and breathes to delight other humans somewhere between natural and digital worlds. This intriguing image emerged during some fractal experiments inspired by some glorious irises growing on wasteland in Chichester, UK. Abstracting still further, I developed the fractal image into this piece by isolating the core shape, re-aligning it, and adding soft embracing hair around the hard outline. I love the fact that the highly unnatural fractal work begins from plant life and creates something between wood and stone in this work. What has been born? An exotic fruit? A mythic symbol from a parallel world? Or a living island on another planet where the seas are made of fur and stone can grow like wood.
