This picture grew from seeing the world with a child-like gaze. An arc of bubbles was being created by running water on a domed metal sink plug. I caught the moment on my iPhone. I really enjoyed deconstructing the mundane but lovely elements - water and metal and light - and using them to make abstract compositions. I found that they wanted to be transmuted into bold, montages in modern palettes around a 'piña colada' yellow core colour. I treated this one to reduplication of the frame element which gives it an elevated 1920s feel. Wonder in the every day!
