This exuberant circular image emerged as I was playing with some fractal animations. I had made the fractals using a palette created from some bearded irises growing on wasteland in Chichester. UK. The resulting pieces became the 'Chichester Iris Fractal' collection. In this variation the frame image that is used in 'Chichester Iris Fractal, 4' is multiplied and rotated with a blend mode added to one layer. This element creates the soft swirl of spinning 'clouds', a hint also of feathers. I found the result exciting and intriguing in equal measure. I love the fact that the highly unnatural fractal work begins from plant life and creates unexpected elements, often hinting at nature again. What emerges is entirely the reverse of AI image-making. In the work here it is the human eye, soul and mind being stimulated and delighted and creating something never seen before. But deeply rooted in nature, speaking of human fables, and ‘Aesthetic Intelligence’.
