I developed this enigmatic piece as part of a series some fractal image experiments. The input palette came from some glorious bearded irises I found growing on wasteland in Chichester. Tall, proud, happy, loud and not needing a worried gardener! They became the inspiration behind the 'Chichester Iris Fractal' series. In this variation the shell-like fractal swirls form empty frames hinting at swamps and seas on another planet. I love the fact that the highly unnatural fractal work begins from plant life and creates a new world. It's the reverse of AI image-making. In these works it is the human eye, soul and mind being stimulated and delighted and creating something never seen before.
