I really enjoyed making this series of joyous pictures of early spring anemones. The pink petals shone like silk in sunshine and the near-black central boss stood proudly. Very delicate and very strong. I decided to opt for large scale with a touch of retro 'pop art'. This is the first I made and it is closest to being a representation of a simple flower head. The piece involved hand drawing under and over a montage of the flower and multiple layers but few blend modes to keep the essence of anemone loud and clear.
