The Eskenazi School of Art Architecture + Design at Indiana University Bloomington invites applications for a 4–6-week McKinney International Art and Design Residency. An established artist or designer will be selected whose primary country of residence is outside the United States. Applicants should be actively engaged in a contemporary artistic practice and show evidence of a national and international exhibition record. Applications from practitioners of studio disciplines, as well as criticism, are welcome.

They are seeking to engage an experienced First Nations digital artist to work with First Nations young people to deliver a temporary public art project at the Tounnin Wominjeka Youth Hub, the newly built Youth Hub in Rosebud. The project aligns with the Public Art Policy which aims to commit to building a culturally aware and engaged community through the arts and to provide an environment in which artistic and cultural expression in the public domain is encouraged and valued. The artist will collaborate closely with young people to co-design a meaningful and engaging artwork. This participatory process will empower young individuals, fostering a deeper connection with their community and culture. The resulting artwork will reflect their voices and shared stories, celebrating the richness of First Nations culture.

The Mare Island Artyard sculpture exhibition are currently planning our 5th year of art installations that will be on public display from mid-May 2025 through mid-May 2026 on Mare Island in Vallejo, CA. Mare Island is a peninsula that was home to the oldest Naval Base on the West Coast. It still has an active ship port, residential communities, nature preserve, a brewery, distillery, and is a destination for special events including concerts and races. The Mare Island Artyard are seeking art that is contemporary, imaginative, and suitable for a very broad general public. Local Edition will be selecting six (6) self-standing installations to receive a stipend from between $5,000 - $8,000 depending on the size and quality of the art.

What is 'the catalogue'?

The AFA Catalogue is not a magazine but rather a collection of scholarly essays published in a hardcover artbook format as well as presented digitally in a manner similar to an exhibition catalogue. Only the best in show artists from AFA online exhibitions are included in all formats of the catalogue, digitally and in print. The catalogue includes artists who have works in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Artists included in the catalogue have also been critically published by the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, National Geographic, Financial Times, and The Guardian. There are also quite a few artists in the catalogue who are represented by some of the most respected galleries in the world.

2025, BAC welcomes their third Emerging Artist Fellowship, running in two cohorts from May 22 to September 11, 2025 and July 24 to November 13, 2025. This fellowship is designed to offer a creative home to emerging artists as they transition and deepen their professional careers and artistic practice. With provided support from BAC, Emerging Artist Fellows will be able to devote uninhibited energy towards creativity. Emerging Artist Fellows will be in a community of artists and culture workers from a broad range of disciplines, including our Fall Multidisciplinary residents, local studio artists, BAC staff and board members, those presenting programs on campus and more!

Presenting Art Collide’s "Open Theme”, Winter 2025, international competition and online exhibition. Artists of all ages from around the world are invited to participate, with complete freedom in choosing their preferred media and style. The competition's theme is "Open," allowing participants to express their creativity by submitting artworks on any subject matter of their choice. Only artists whose works are selected as finalists will be required to pay a $35 participation fee. Finalists will have their artwork showcased online and advance to the final round of judging, where they will be considered for cash prizes, including the chance to win the grand prize of $1,000.

In contrast to themed competitions that dictate a specific topic or idea, open-themed contests like this one grant artists the freedom to express their creativity without confines on subject matter. Such competitions foster a plethora of artistic interpretations and styles, enabling artists to delve into diverse themes, concepts, and genres driven by their personal interests, experiences, or creative musings. This format empowers artists to exhibit their uniqueness and artistic flair.

Open-themed art contests encompass a broad spectrum of visual arts, spanning painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, digital art, and more. The open theme's adaptability results in a varied and dynamic array of submissions, establishing an inclusive platform that accommodates artists with varying preferences and styles.

The newly constructed Manatee Pocket Mooring Field facility, located within the Port Salerno Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) boundary, embodies architectural elements inspired by Florida Vernacular design in its single-story structure. On SE Park Drive, the facility’s back wall offers a canvas for an approximately 7 feet tall by 6 feet wide mosaic mural and acts as the "front door" of the building in the context of the street and neighborhood. This artwork aims to celebrate the rich local culture, history, and natural beauty of Port Salerno and Martin County, seamlessly integrating with the surrounding architectural aesthetics. The project includes the development of complementary wayfinding signage. This sign will serve to highlight and direct visitors to key amenities.

Since it was established in 1987 WOW has embraced the worlds of art and design, running an international competition that culminates in a spectacular theatrical performance each year. The exhilarating WOW Show is a visual feast for audiences and an opportunity for designers to be recognised and celebrated on the world stage. WOW offers an opportunity to express innovation, originality and to push the boundaries of creativity. The show represents the last stage of the competition as finalists garments get their moment to shine in front of over 60,000 people.

Discovery Green Conservancy is seeking proposals for a temporary outdoor art installation that will captivate and resonate with the park’s diverse audiences. Weingarten Art Group, on behalf of Discovery Green Conservancy, invites artists to propose projects that inspire exploration, magic, and joy in this vibrant urban park – one of Houston’s most beloved public spaces hosting up to two million visitors annually. As outlined in the Request for Proposals, the selected project will be installed on the Sarofim Picnic Lawn for 4-6 weeks in the Fall of 2025. The total project budget is $80,000, inclusive of all costs.

Art Encounters is a year-long outdoor sculpture exhibit that showcases a number of sculptures, in various media and styles, displayed in highly visible areas in Castle Rock, Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Parker, and Roxborough. The project is designed to promote public interest in art, develop community pride and draw visitors to the retail or civic areas where they are displayed. All art is for sale to the general public.

The Asian Women Giving Circle (AWGC) believes culture is an essential part of any strategy for social change. They support projects led by Asian American women or gender-expansive people in NYC that harness the power of arts and culture to:
- Bring about progressive social transformation
- Raise awareness and catalyze action around critical issues that affect Asian American women, girls, gender-expansive people and families
- Highlight and promote their central role as leaders, creators, developers and managers of these projects.

In this grants cycle, they anticipate that 6-8 project grants will be awarded, contingent on available funding. The maximum grant amount is $8,000.

The artists will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the authentic culture of Meghalaya. They will be given dedicated time for individual contemplation and the creation of their artworks in a studio space conveniently located near their accommodation. Interaction between the invited artists and local artists from Meghalaya is encouraged and anticipated. Additionally, the artists will have the chance to share their knowledge through organized workshops conducted for local schools.

At the conclusion of the residency program, a final exhibition will be organized, during which each artist will present the artworks created during the residency and share their experiences with the invited guests.

The fellowships value best practice, build connection, generate exchange and strengthen that national network of regional artists and communities.

Located on the sixth floor of the Museum and open to the public, the Artist Studios at MAD is a community engagement and professional development program for contemporary artists and designers. The first program of its kind, the Artist Studios opportunity is designed to encourage visitors to meet artists-in-residence as they expand their creative practice while working on-site at MAD. Three artists (two Artist Studios residents and one Artist Fellow) are selected per six-month session, for which they receive access to studio space in the Museum and a stipend. Visitors are welcome to visit MAD’s Artist Studios to view works in progress and converse with the artists and designers.

"Scenes from Real Life", this is the setting for the works at the next collective exhibition curated by LoosenArt. These scenes, represented or documented through photographic media, video and digital tools, can refer to any type of setting and context. The climate crisis is an urgent global concern. Self as Universe: Mending Our Collective Ecosystem Residencies at A Studio in the Woods invite artists to explore the connections within collective ecosystems and use the power of imagination to heal the wounds in the relationship between people and their communities. Southeast Louisiana’s land and inhabitants are continually scarred by the effects of environmental degradation. These injuries – the historical to the present – affect bodies, families, communities, and cultures, as well as the land and its other creatures. They encourage artists to guide their collective response as the caretakers and caregivers to the universe while bringing wisdom, integrity, optimism, and even humor to intentional and timely projects seeking transformation.

The final book size will be in the landscape orientation, and the final size of the book will be 6 x 8.25 in.

The Smithsonian’s Archives of American Art Internships are offered in the spring, summer, and fall terms to students who have not yet completed their degrees, or who have graduated within the past six months. Summer internships are accompanied by a $6,500 stipend, based on a full-time, ten-week schedule. Pro-rated stipends may be available for part-time internships, which are available during the academic year and, in some cases, during the summer.

Established by Gallery Directors Isobel Beauchamp and Elinor Olisa, the Signature Art Prize was founded to identify and celebrate the unique ‘Signature Style’ of early-career artists. With their extensive experience in the contemporary art market, Beauchamp and Olisa are dedicated to nurturing artistic individuality and supporting new talent.

Selected finalists will be invited to participate in the Signature Art Prize Gala Exhibition in June 2025, where they will have the opportunity to present their work in a prestigious gallery setting. Arts/Industry is undoubtedly one of the most remarkable collaborations between art and industry in the United States. The residency program is administered by the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, a nonprofit arts organization in Sheboygan, WI, and hosted and funded by Kohler Co., a private for-profit plumbing ware company in nearby Kohler, WI. Founded by visionary arts leader Ruth DeYoung Kohler, Arts/Industry provides artists a place to make their artwork in tandem with the skilled craftspeople who work for Kohler Co. The program is rooted in the collaborative efforts between contemporary artists and industrial artisans, resulting in brilliant works of art.

The Stiftung Niedersachsen grant at the Edith-Russ-Haus for Media Art supports a wide spectrum of media art, from video art and net-based projects to audio works and audiovisual installations. Each of the three grants will be awarded for the production of a new project in the area of media art. And international jury will be convene to select the grant recipients. The grant is valid for a duration of six months (July–December 2025). It cannot be prolonged and residency is compulsory; grant recipients can expect to stay in Oldenburg at least one month (can be spread across several stays). The project or artistic work should be completed within the six-month duration of the grant.

The Department of Art & Art History invites artists with compelling contemporary practices in any medium to apply for the Borgeson Artist in Residence Program, a twelve-week summer artist residency at Hope College’s De Pree Art Center in Holland, Michigan. The residency runs from from mid-May through mid-August and provides housing, a financial stipend, a personal studio space, and full facility access within the Department of Art & Art History. It concludes with a one-month exhibition at Hope College’s 2,136 sq. ft. De Pree Art Gallery. The exhibition opens in late August and runs through September. The residency stipend is paid in two installments, at the beginning of the residency and in September at the close of the exhibition.

The Shelley & Donald Rubin Foundation is excited to announce the fourth in a series of open calls, giving curators, academics, and art historians a platform to stage an exhibition at The 8th Floor, our gallery and event space, at 17 West 17th St. near Union Square, NYC. The foundation is searching for emerging researchers and cultural presenters to realize their pre-existing, and as-yet unrealized exhibition concept. Proposals with an experimental and/or pedagogical approach are sought for thematic group presentations. Callie’s is a non-profit experimental institution dedicated to fostering creativity and cultural exchange through residencies, exhibitions, and public programs. The residency program at Callie’s is a laboratory for expansive thinking. Artists at any stage of their careers and working in any discipline come to Callie’s to have the space and support to explore new ideas. The program is self-guided and offers many possibilities with no requirements for production.

The Freeport Art Museum has an open call for Native American artists within a 150-mile radius of Freeport, Illinois, which is located in the far northwestern corner of the state. This radius includes the major metro locations of Chicago, Madison, and Milwaukee. This call seeks to award two solo exhibitions as part of the BIPOC initiative, which will open October 25th, 2025 and runs through December 27th, 2025. This will be the fifth and final year of this initiative, which, works to fundamentally transform the diversity showcased in FAM’s exhibitions and foster a welcoming environment for the public, especially BIPOC audiences.

The MAEP Open Call for the March–June 2026 exhibition launches February 1–28, 2025. The deadline is Friday, February 28, 2025, at 11:59 PM. Decisions will be announced by April 30, 2025. Founded in 1975 as a partnership between the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia) and regional artists, the Minnesota Artists Exhibition Program (MAEP) has become a unique, ongoing relationship lasting fifty years. One application will be selected to receive $13,500 and the opportunity to realize the proposed exhibition in the 2,500-square-foot U.S. Bank Gallery at Mia. The program is only open to Minnesota residents. All applications must be submitted through the Submittable portal.

Arts/Industry Residency provides the unique opportunity to explore new ideas, processes, and perspectives while creating work using the resources, technology, and materials of the Kohler Co. factory in Kohler, Wisconsin. Arts/Industry artists are given the time and space to pursue their creative process in studios located in Kohler Co.’s industrial foundry and pottery. Artists-in-residence receive 24-hour access to studio space, industrial materials, use of equipment, technical assistance, photographic services, housing, round-trip transportation, and a modest weekly stipend. Experience working in metal or clay is not required. Arts/Industry welcomes artists from all disciplines who are curious about how industrial processes and environments can shape their work.

The Access/VSA Emerging Young Artists Program, a Jean Kennedy Smith Arts and Disability Program, showcases the work of visual artists with disabilities, ages 16-25, who reside in the United States. This program is funded by the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) Grant #H421F240164, however, the content does not necessarily represent the policy of the U.S. Department of Education. Fifteen winning artists are selected by a jury. Each winning artist receives a $3,000 award and has one of their submitted pieces selected for an exhibition at the Kennedy Center. Winning artists are required to attend virtual workshops (May 3, May 17, June 14) and an all-expenses-paid series of professional development workshops at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. June 17-21, 2025. Artist must reside in the United States. (Includes 50 states plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Northern Marianas Islands, Guam, American Samoa, and U.S. Virgin Islands.) Artist must have a disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Artist must be comfortable publicly identifying as an artist with a disability. Artist must be between the ages of 16 and 25.

This call for art is open to both professional and amateur artists working in a variety of mediums. Submissions are welcome across disciplines, including photography, printmaking, sculpture, painting, and drawing. Accepted painting and drawing mediums include oil, acrylic, ink, graphite, pastels, and more. Please note that works requiring special installation or instructions will not be considered.
