2018 Bring Us Your Dead (Dia de los Muertos)

What: Las Laguna Gallery is now accepting submissions of artwork commemorating or inspired by Dia de los Muertos.

2018 Autumn Arts Festival and Gallery Show

What: Spectrum Art Gallery is seeking fine artists and crafters in all mediums to exhibit at the 2018 Indoor/Outdoor Autumn Arts Festival.

Who: All artists

Application Deadline: September 7

Festival Dates: October 6 - 7

Location: Madison, CT

Participation Fee: $80

Fine Print: Participation is required both days of the festival. Submissions include 3 images of artwork including title, materials used, and size, as well as an Artist Biography. Read the prospectus here.

 

2018 Holiday Art Market

What: The 2018 Annual Holiday Art Market (HART) at Foothills Art Center (FAC) is the premier venue for fabulous fine arts and crafts, handmade in Colorado. We are seeking fine art and craft in all media suitable for the holiday market: 2-D media, ceramics, jewelry, glass, fiber, leather, metal, wood, edibles, and holiday-themed items, including decorations, ornaments and greeting cards.

Fine Print: Artists are juried on their body of work and the artwork is accepted on a consignment basis. Historically, items priced between $3.00 and $650.00 sell best, especially items under $50.00.  We will accept work above $650 but the artist may be asked not to bring specific work or quantities. Open Call to Artists: Shadow

What: Creative Spirit’s exhibit will celebrate the world of shadows and the artists’ unique and varied expression of this creative source.

What: Twenty artists will be selected for an online group exhibit at Gallery25N that will be marketed extensively worldwide. One artist will be selected to receive the “Christopher E. Burke Fine Art Grant” of $500.00.

Call for Artwork $5,000 and Under – Holiday Group Exhibition in NYC

What: Dacia Gallery’s Annual Holiday Exhibition is a big blockbuster show that garners a lot of attention from the press, collectors and the public. The gallery is looking for a diverse body of artwork in all mediums and styles.

Exhibition Dates: December 10, 2018 – January 12, 2019

Fee: $35 for 10 images

Call for Artists: Dia de los Muertos Fine Art Exhibition

What: Dia de los Muertos is a national holiday in Mexico when deceased loved ones are honored and remembered. It is a poignant time, both solemn and joyous, with colorful traditions, pageantry, and whimsy despite the sobering subject. Dia de los Muertos Festival and Fine Art Exhibition pay tribute to this tradition.

Who: U.S. artists 18 and older

Application Deadline: September 15

Exhibition Dates: October 24 – November 24, 2018

Opening Reception: October 27

Location: Corpus Christi, TX

Fee: $35 for 1-3 works of art; $5 per each additional entry

A Single Grain of Rice Contest & Show

What: The exhibition “A Single Grain of Rice”invites artists to rediscover the universe through works of art of small size.

Application Deadline: September 15

Exhibition Dates: December 19, 2018 - January 6, 2019

Location: Paris, France

Fee: 70€

“Surfaces” Exhibition

What: A group exhibition from LoosenArt with the theme “Surfaces,” referring to the space that delimits, separates and at the same time brings into contact what is inside and outside of any physical material object.

2018 International Juried Exhibition

What: An exhibition hosted by The Center for Contemporary Art for works in all media.

Who: Artists, 18 and older

Application Deadline: September 16

Exhibition Dates: November 8 – December 22, 2018

Opening Reception: November 8, 6-8 PM

Location: Bedminster, NJ

Fee: $35 for up to 3 works ($25 for members)

Fine Print: All artwork is insured for its declared value from the time it is received through January 5, 2019. Artists are responsible for insuring artwork during transit. Learn more here.

 

Princeton Arts Fellowship

What: The Princeton Arts Fellowships will be awarded to artists whose achievements have been recognized as demonstrating extraordinary promise in any area of artistic practice and teaching. Fellows will spend two consecutive academic years (September 1-July 1) at Princeton University and formal teaching is expected.

Who: Early career artists worldwide

Application Deadline: September 18

Location: Princeton, NJ

Award: A stipend of $81,000 a year

Fine Print: All applicants must submit a resume or curriculum vitae, a personal statement of 500 words about how you would hope to use the two years of the fellowship at this moment in your career, and contact information for three references. The Hodder Fellowship

What: The Hodder Fellowship will be given to artists and writers of exceptional promise to pursue independent projects at Princeton University during the academic year. Potential Hodder Fellows are artists who have “much more than ordinary intellectual and literary gifts”; they are selected more “for promise than for performance.” Hodder Fellows spend an academic year at Princeton, but no formal teaching is involved.

Award: A stipend of $81,000

Fine Print: Visual artists should provide up to 20 still images organized into a single PDF file to submit as part of their online application, as well as a resume and project proposal of 500 words. Learn more here.

 

Call for Art - Natural Homes: Nests, Burrows, Caves & Trees

What: A juried exhibition hosted by View Arts centering around the theme of “Natural Homes: Nests, Burrows, Caves & Trees.”

Who: Artists, age 18 and up, working in all media

Application Deadline: September 22

Exhibition Dates: October 27, 2018 - March 10, 2019

Opening Reception: November 30, 5-7 PM

Location: Old Forge, NY

Fee: $30 (or $25 for members) for up to 2 works, $10 for each additional image, up to 5 works total

Center for Photographic Art - 2018 International Juried Exhibition

What: The Center for Photographic Art (CPA) is pleased to announce the 2018 International Juried Exhibition. This year they are offering $6,000 in awards. Forty-five juror-selected photographs will be exhibited in CPA’s historic gallery at Sunset Center in Carmel, California.

Who: Photographers worldwide, 18 and older, working in all still photographic media

Application Deadline: September 23

Exhibition Dates: November 10 - December 22, 2018

Opening Reception: November 10

Location: Carmel, CA

Fee: $160 for 3 images ($110 for members)

The Cup, The Mug 2018

What: Main Street Arts is now accepting submissions to our 3rd annual The Cup, The Mug national juried exhibition. Submissions must be cups, mugs, or other drinking vessels.

Who: U.S. artists working in ceramics, glass, wood, or metal.

Application Deadline: September 24

Exhibition Dates: November 15 – December 15, 2018

Opening Reception: December 1, 4–7 PM

Location: Clifton Springs, NY

Landscape: Real and Imagined

What: Landscape posits the challenge of how we imagine, view and engage with the world around us. This exhibition by Site:Brooklyn seeks to show how contemporary artists take up this challenge.

What: Remarque/New Grounds Print Workshop & Gallery invites printmakers from around the world to submit work for their 6th Annual International Juried Print Exhibition. The exhibition aims to present a collection of innovative prints featuring themes and techniques from all traditions of printmaking.

What: Figureworks is an annual juried art prize and celebration of the art of the human form. Accepting figurative works in all media.

What: Have you ever looked at the clock and noticed the time to be exactly 11:11? For many people it represents a single moment in time that encourages reflection and to focus one’s attention on the present. What: Introductions is an annual open call hosted by Trestle Gallery. The only qualification is that you have not participated in a show at their gallery before.
