This Tunbridge Valley Farm resonates every time I visit. It sits so nicely in the valley framed by hills and mountains and the combination of barns, outbuildings, and homes with the natural elements provides great contrast, color, and visual interest. I found this piece challenging with all the architectural details but it was very rewarding to step back and see it all come together. When I first set out to paint this I found myself drawn to the main barn and so I actually painted a smaller painting/study of just barn first, which you can see below this piece .
