Just outside the town line, on the northeastern side end of Stowe, is a beautiful valley called the Sterling Valley. Sterling Brook crosses in and out of Stowe and Morristown, meandering through beautiful forest. There are any number of small falls along the brook and this little fall offered a great opportunity for this painting. The stream seems to appear out of the woods into a break in the forest and spill over this rock formation creating a serene yet lively vignette. I really enjoyed capturing both the falling water and the little pool beneath the falls, all framed by the late summer forest.
