The sculpture, It's a Girl!, draws from domestic and decorative materials—pipe insulation, tights, vacuum hose cover, a pacifier, and a tutu—to interrogate the social weight placed on assigned gender at birth. The work transforms banal, “feminine-coded” objects into a tangled, suspended structure. The pink loops and soft fabrics, seemingly celebratory, knot into tension, suggesting constraint, expectation, and the inescapable shaping of identity within patriarchal norms.
