Gender Neutral bends domestic materials—pipe insulation, aluminum flashing, wallpaper, and steel framing—into a suspended, ambiguous form that refuses categorization. The looping curves defy rigid boundaries, neither traditionally “masculine” nor “feminine,” while the dark and oxidized patina suggests material history layered with time and use. The angular black rods disrupt the fluid bow-like structure, hinting at societal forces attempting to define, measure, and contain identity. The work challenges binary constructs, proposing a space of openness, flux, and self-determination.
