My art practice challenges social and linguistic constructs in the United States through precisely crafted artworks organized into collections.
MessageThis assemblage uses domestic and decorative materials—pipe insulation, aluminum flashing, vacuum hose covers, stockings, kitchenware, and needlepoint frames—to challenge gendered hierarchies of labor and artmaking. The tangled, suspended forms evoke tension between containment and release, echoing the historical relegation of women’s labor to the private sphere. Emerging from the wall yet tethered back to it, the piece suggests how domestic expectations both sustain and restrict, transforming household goods into a testament of resistance within a patriarchal aesthetic order.
