My interdisciplinary practice investigates the social and linguistic constructs that shape identity, history, and collective memory in the United States.
MessageBound in gauze, the figure on the ironing board straddles the line between protection and violation. Knitting needles pierce its chest—one for each sculpture in the series—counting acts of misogyny and experience. The iron and cord anchor the scene in domestic labor, where objects from lived experience challenge a purist aesthetic hierarchy that privileges one set of materials over another based on gender association. Each needle represents a needle of history, politics, and lived life.
