My interdisciplinary practice investigates the social and linguistic constructs that shape identity, history, and collective memory in the United States.
MessageSafe, Legal, Access builds a tense assemblage from domestic materials—pipe insulation, flashing, wallpaper, books, belt, coat hanger, and vacuum hose cover. The twisted structure, bound in plaid, sits atop a patterned pedestal, while a lone hanger dangles overhead, recalling dangerous, pre-Roe methods of abortion. The piece addresses the precariousness of reproductive rights, highlighting how “safe, legal, and accessible” remains contested and fragile. Every day, household objects become a site of political struggle, transforming private domestic space into a battleground for bodily autonomy.
