The memories that stay with me from my trip to Ireland show up again and again in my paintings. In this piece, I recall the winding country roads lined with stone walls and the glorious green countryside on the edge of the sunlit sea beyond. I have ancestors from this area and felt the connection immediately when I saw the land. I wasn't looking for specific people or stories but now I am fascinated by who lived here and how they contribute to who I am today. And I love the idea that we follow our own brick roads like Dorothy did in the Wizard of Oz in hopes of finding answers.
