The Tears For Fears classic song Sowing The Seeds of Love was on my playlist when I was working on this piece. I was in my zone, painting big sweeping swaths of colors reaching to the edges of the panel, and I felt as if I was flinging my thoughts out there too. So many people I know have been conflicted by events in our country- myself included. As I painted I thought of all the mixed emotions out there- all the energy needing to be unleashed and heard. The message that we keep the ideals of integrity and compassion alive by planting, tending to, and spreading love seemed so appropriate to me. Sometimes we forget or lose sight of something so simple. But I found it in my painting.
