So many times when I'm on a road trip with my husband, I'll look out the window at the passing landscape and tell him, "this reminds me of home." What home though—where I grew up in Ohio or where I've lived over thirty years in South Carolina? If there are trees somewhere or water, it can be either because I have so many memories from both. This painting is about how a place that shapes you pulls you back when you see some aspect of it in your present life. And even the momentary found memory is something to savor.
