The inaugural Tartget Prize is one of the most significant international painting competitions. Open to all styles and techniques, the contest offers over $55,000 in prizes across 10 categories, from figurative to abstract.

The Tarleton State University Department of Visual Arts & Design is thrilled to announce the 27th annual Rio Brazos Juried Art Exhibition. This year’s exhibition will be juried by artist Layla Luna. Open to all varieties of media, this exhibition aims to curate a selection of exemplary contemporary work from artists around the country. All proceeds from the exhibition will go to scholarships for the Department of Visual Arts & Design at Tarleton State University.

The exhibition will open on April 5, 2025 at the Dora Lee Langdon Cultural & Educational Center in Granbury, Texas and runs every weekend through April 27th.

Art Under the Elms is a juried art festival organized by the Lewis-Clark State College Center for Arts & History. The School of Art Collection and Galleries at Kent State University is pleased to announce the Curlee Raven Holton & Raven Fine Art Editions Distinguished Art Fellowship. This fellowship/residency invites artists of national and international reputations to interact with KSU students, staff, and the broader community.

Since 1996, ATA has sponsored a biennial, juried exhibition known as the American Tapestry Biennial. This juried exhibition highlights the best of international contemporary handwoven tapestry and has showcased hundreds of professional and amateur tapestry artists since its inception. The exhibition will feature not only artists who work within more traditional definitions of tapestry but also those who explore the core principles of the medium in conjunction with alternative processes and techniques.
American Tapestry Biennial 15 will be on view at the Epiphany Center for the Arts in Chicago, IL from August 1, 2025, through September 26, 2025.

17th Annual Sunset Valley ARTFEST, April 26, 2025 hosted by the City of Sunset Valley Arts Commission. For the past three years, ARTFEST has had a record number of art and food booths with over 100 artisans showcasing their handmade merchandise including oil paintings, drawings, sculptures, glass creations, jewelry designs, metal and woodwork items, and much more. This is a one-day event from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. with over 8,000 attendees. The FREE ADMISSION event offers something for everyone in the family with avenues of artisans, two live music stages with Austin area talent, local food trucks, and a separate area for children's fun and interactive activities including a performance stage.

c.r.e.t.a. rome organizes artist residencies for periods of 4 weeks in the spring, summer and fall. The 2024/25 residencies include a shared equipped studio, some technical assistance, access to several electric kilns, advice on museums, galleries and sites in Rome and beyond. The residency fee does not include accommodation. A second residency site in the countryside of Rome is a particularly good option for collaborative projects and/or artists who want to bring their spouses/companions and/or young family (supplemental fee). Housing is included. Residents have a private studio and one-bedroom house. For ceramic artists, there is access to electric and gas kilns, with options for reduction firing.

The 2025 Art Speaks Juried Exhibition prospectus is now available on their website. The show is open to any artist living or working in Virginia, 18 or older. Both 2D and 3D media are eligible, and $6,350 in prize money is available for award. This year's juror and judge is Diego Sanchez. Online submission of entries begin December 1, 2024. Webb School of Knoxville is inviting applications from visiting artists for their 2025-2026 artist-in-residence program. Artists spend five weeks working with their students part time and in their own studios part time. Artists are asked to mount an exhibition and donate a representative piece upon completion of their residency. In exchange, artists are provided a public studio space, housing, travel expenses and $6000 stipend. Annual application deadline is March 1. SAC International Curatorial Residency Program 2025 is the residency program at Barcelona's Sant Andreu Contemporani, in collaboration with Fabra i Coats - Fàbrica de Creació de Barcelona, available to international curators. As part of the program, they are announcing an open call for proposals to choose an international curator who will be part of the Miquel Casablancas Prize for the Visual Arts’ jury in 2025, and will later develop a curatorial project with a selection of Catalan artists chosen from applicants to the prize. The project must be presented at the country of residence of the curator or in another international venue that she/he decides.

The School of Art at Kent State University is now accepting proposals for the 2025-26 Curlee Raven Holton & Raven Fine Art Editions Distinguished Art Fellow. The Curlee Raven Holton and Raven Fine Art Editions Distinguished Fellowship has been established to bring globally recognized leaders in art and the academy to the Kent State University School of Art to work with students as teachers, mentors, and critics. The Fellows' engagement will strengthen a critical link between the School of Art at Kent State and the international artistic community. Fellows will give public lectures, exhibit artwork or curate an exhibit, teach workshops, and/or participate in studio visits and critiques. Fellows' work shall be displayed in one of the School of Art Galleries during or just prior to their visit.

Situated in the center of Oregon, over 200,000 people call Deschutes County home. Central Oregon, widely known for its stunning mountains, rivers, pine forests and recreational opportunities, will now be home to a new 100,000 square foot library in east Bend known as Stevens Ranch, a new branch library in Redmond and completely renovated and renewed libraries in the communities of La Pine, Sunriver and Sisters and in historic downtown Bend. The project is funded by a voter approved bond measure. 1% of the brick and mortar costs are reserved for the purchase of art. Prairie Ronde Artist Residency offers artists from a range of disciplines a 5 – 6 week residency in the historic Village of Vicksburg, Michigan. Offering a unique environment for our artists to develop their craft: the 420,000 square foot former Lee Paper Company mill and its adjacent 80 acres of property. Prairie Ronde is hosted by The Mill at Vicksburg, a redevelopment project of the former Lee Paper Company mill, whose extensive and ongoing plans focus on sustainability. The goal is to bring artists into the space to engage with The Mill’s historic legacy and its monumental transformation.

SMACH Biennale is a disseminated art exhibition that, every two years since 2012, has made a series of works conceived and installed in relation to some of the most beautiful places in Val Badia and the UNESCO Dolomites freely accessible to the public. In the six editions organized so far, they have presented 60 installations that interact with nature, history, identity, and the culture of the territory, conveying non-stereotypical visions of the Alpine landscape. The Biennale aims to spark visitors’ interest both in contemporary visual art and in the locations where the artworks are set. Ten proposals will be selected and funded based on the judgment of the technical and artistic juries, which will reward those best able to engage with the locations and theme of the 2025 edition.

Telstra NATSIAA is the longest running and most prestigious celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art and culture. For over 40 years, the Telstra NATSIAA has provided a platform for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists to showcase their diverse practices and cultural expressions on the national stage. An important part of Australia’s cultural calendar, the Telstra NATSIAA honours established, mid-career artists and emerging artists. Each year artists come to the fore and are recognised for their works of significance, strength and cultural integrity. Many respected Elders have graced the Awards over the decades sharing their knowledges and encouraging the next generation. Similarly, it is through Telstra NATSIAA many acclaimed artists debuted innovations in their practice or first shared their works with their peers and the world.

Each year Earth Photo organises an open call followed by an awards presentation, exhibitions, and events. For their 2025 open call, they are inviting submissions from still and moving image makers from anywhere in the world who have a compelling story to share. Submissions can consist of any genre of photography and moving image but must tell powerful stories about the planet. The Earth Photo 2025 exhibition will be presented in over 15 locations in the UK and internationally. It will open at the Royal Geographical Society, London in June 2025, together with a national tour to Forestry England sites. They are delighted to announce that the exhibition will also be touring to the Sidney Nolan Trust, a series of National Trust properties and more venues throughout the UK.

Each year NXTHVN welcomes up to seven artists and two curators to participate in its paid 10-month intensive Fellowship Program. Each Fellow will receive studio or office space, a stipend, and subsidized housing. Selected from an international pool of applicants, Fellows relocate to New Haven to participate in NXTHVN’s mentorship-driven curriculum which includes professional development sessions led by visiting artists, curators, scholars, and practitioners. Selected Fellows are also matched with a high school Apprentice, for focused one-on-one mutual learning, which gives the next local generation a chance to grow and excel in creative fields. The Fellowship year culminates with an annual group show at a prominent gallery space.

The Creative Placemaking Commission invites experienced public artists/teams that have completed at least one outdoor artwork or mural in the past ten years, are at least 18 years or older, and residents of Minnesota to submit qualifications for design and installation services to transform utility boxes in the South Loop District into creative, exciting, & captivating objects of art that celebrate Bloomington while enhancing the district’s character & vitality. Priority consideration will be given to Bloomington residents. Each selected applicant will receive a $2,000 budget for a single painted utility box. For the cluster of painted and wrapped utility boxes, one selected applicant will receive a $6,000 budget. Deadline: Monday, March 3, 2025 by 11:00 PM CST.

The Syracuse Arts & Crafts Festival is a prestigious three-day showcase featuring approximately 150 artists and crafters from 20 U.S. states, Canada, and Mexico. The festival offers a wide selection of contemporary arts and crafts, from functional to decorative, and includes continuous free entertainment, family activities, and diverse food vendors.

Rowan University Art Gallery & Museum presents the 2025 New Jersey Arts Annual (NJAA) in partnership with the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. The NJAA is a unique series of exhibitions highlighting the State’s visual and performing artists. The theme for the Arts Annual 2025 will be Artist as Activist, inviting submissions of work that reflect artistic thoughts and responses to this concept. An artist as activist is someone who harnesses the power of creativity to inspire social and political action. Unlike traditional activism, which often relies on direct action or advocacy, these artists engage in activism through various forms of expression, particularly visual art. Their work challenges norms, raises awareness of critical issues, and encourages audiences to think critically about the world around them.

The Arts Annual will seek artists whose work addresses a broad range of topics and concerns, including human rights and access to resources, environmental awareness and justice, racial and gender equality, health and well-being, and the political and cultural climate. This work may serve as a vehicle for advocacy, highlighting injustices, and envisioning alternatives. By capturing emotions, experiences, and truths through their art, these artists strive to promote empathy, spark dialogue, and inspire individuals toward collective action.

Surf Coast Shire Council’s 2025 DEVELOP Artists and Creatives Grants are open to residents involved in arts and culture. This program supports emerging, mid-career, and established creatives, including First Nations people, individuals from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds, and people with disabilities, funding intensive research, experimentation, and new ideas. Creatives can apply for grants of $3,000 for individuals and $5,000 for collectives to assist them in exploring new ideas and advancing their creative practice and careers. Surf Coast Shire Council’s 2025 DEVELOP Artists and Creatives Grants aligns with the Creative Places Strategy 2023–2031, the program Grants encourage innovation through new collaborations, methodologies, and learning opportunities.

African American fiber artists from across the nation are invited to participate in the 18th Annual African American Fiber Art Exhibition - "In Praise of the Ancestors," a component of the 2025 North Charleston Arts Fest. Artists may choose to highlight a figure from the collective African American history, or from their own family's history. From tales of slavery, racism, and fighting for basic human rights, to finding heritage and values, fiber pieces in this 18th annual exhibition will cover a vast range of topics that have great significance for the African American community. Following the close of the show, up to 20 works will be selected to tour the state through the South Carolina State Museum's 2025/2026 Traveling Exhibitions Program.

The Steering Committee for the National Conference on Contemporary Cast Iron Art and Practices invites students and professional artists attending the conference to submit images for the 2025 NCCCIAP Juried and Biennial Exhibitions. Each participant may submit one piece for consideration per exhibition. Art may be 2D or 3D but must incorporate iron literally or conceptually. Sculpture, installation, drawing, video, and photography are all encouraged. To be considered for the 2025 exhibitions, Art must have been created within 2022, 2023, and 2024. No works completed before 2022 will be considered. Exhibitors must attend the conference to participate. Hand-delivered artwork only! Works must be dropped off at the appropriate exhibition spaces by noon on Wednesday, April 2, and picked up by noon on Sunday, April 6.

Public Functionary invites individual emerging visual artists to submit a body of work for an exhibition responding to the theme of “return.” Public Functionary will exhibit two selected projects concurrently in their main gallery space #144 at the Northrup King Building in Minneapolis. Public Functionary will support each exhibiting artist with a $1,000 stipend. In addition, PF will provide in progress studio visits, curatorial support, installation, promotion, design, and additional resources as needed. The exhibitions will open in August 2025 and will run for 5 weeks.

The Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize is an annual acquisitive prize, launched in 2017 to advance art and opportunity for emerging and established women artists in Australia. It is the highest-value professional artist prize for women in Australia.
There are three prize categories: the Professional Artist Prize of $35,000, the Emerging Artist Prize of $7,500 (supported by The Reed Family Foundation) and the Indigenous Emerging Artist Prize of $7,500 (supported by the Guardian and Scarborough Foundation). There is also a People’s Choice Award of $2,000 (supported by Edwina Palmer) plus a Derivan art pack valued at $500. From 2025, six Highly Commended Awards (two for each category) of $1,000 each (supported by Lindfield & Districts Community Bank) will also be awarded.

Wangaratta Art Gallery is now calling for entries to the $40,000 acquisitive Wangaratta Contemporary Textile Award. Marking the 9th anniversary of this nationally acclaimed biennial prize and exhibition, the Wangaratta Contemporary Textile Award 2025 will be held from 24 May – 17 August 2025. With the generous support of project partners, the Kyamba Foundation, the award celebrates the strength, innovation and diversity of Australian textile art. Building on Wangaratta’s long and prominent history of textile manufacturing, and craft making, the Wangaratta Contemporary Textile Award furthers this unique tradition and social history by elevating and promoting the development of contemporary textile practice in Australia. The $40,000 prize winner will be acquired into the Wangaratta Art Gallery Collection, owned by the Rural City of Wangaratta.

“Nature Morte” will reimagine the still-life tradition through the lens of video art, where digital works unravel fleeting moments of beauty and decay. Selected works will be exhibited in the 103, a small gallery programmed by the Department of Art & Art History at Bucknell University, in the summer of 2025. The videos will be displayed in a loop that will play on a single large horizontally-oriented TV in the gallery. This exhibition invites video works that are inspired by, expand on, or reimagine conventional still-life themes or the reinterpretation of still-life in new and unexpected ways. Invited artwork will be eligible for the on-site exhibition at Guilford Art Center in Guilford, Connecticut, July 1 through July 27, 2025.
