The Smithsonian’s Archives of American Art Internships are offered in the spring, summer, and fall terms to students who have not yet completed their degrees, or who have graduated within the past six months. ON EDGE is an annual juried exhibition of contemporary work by artists residing in Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region who are pushing the boundaries of material and concept. EDGE Gallery has exhibited groundbreaking contemporary art for more than 30 years and has been instrumental in presenting important experimental work in their region. This show is open to contemporary art of any medium, with an emphasis on work that challenges the margins of material, content, artistic process, and technology. McClelland is delighted to launch this $20,000 acquisitive award for an original sculpture, thanks to the generous support of Rick Amor. Rick Amor was born in Frankston and has an extensive body of work and is a highly regarded sculptor. In 2025 this award will be granted to an outstanding original sculpture which will become part of the McClelland collection.

The ArtGemini Prize is a celebration to promote international contemporary art for emerging and established artists around the world.

The International Exhibition on Animals in Art ran for 28 years before it was put on hiatus due to building renovations and then the pandemic. But they brought it back in 2022. Animals in Art celebrates animals. Pieces must depict an animal (fish and insects are considered animals for the purposes of this exhibition). Any work that is determined not to meet the spirit of the exhibit will not be accepted. The LSU School of Veterinary Medicine is one of only 33 veterinary schools in the U.S. and the only one in Louisiana. LSU Vet Med is dedicated to improving and protecting the lives of animals and people through superior education, transformational research, and compassionate care.

Artists worldwide are invited to submit entries for a juried art exhibition taking place November 7-30, 2025, at Real Círculo de la Amistad in Córdoba, Spain. Bodies and Borders: Ecologies of Consent investigates the intersection of bodies, ecology, and agency through the lens of permeability and protection. Drawing from Elvia Wilk’s assertion that health hinges on the regulation of what enters and exits the body's borders, this exhibition explores how consent is navigated/ within biological, political, and ecological systems. Women Eco Artists Dialog (WEAD) in partnership with The 109 Gallery invites work that addresses the ethics of bodily autonomy, the fluidity of borders, and challenges rigid classifications of self and other. The exhibition invites viewers to consider how bodies; human, animal, vegetal, and microbial, are sites of negotiation, resistance, and transformation in an era of ecological precarity. Submission is free to WEAD members whose annual dues are paid by June 30. For artists who are not WEAD members, the submission fee is $45, which includes a year's membership to WEAD, and is also due June 30, 2025.

The Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art is pleased to announce the 2025 juried fine art competition, A Sense of Place. Open to participants from throughout the United States, this event, now in its 43rd year, seeks to recognize the outstanding quality and diversity of work being generated by contemporary American artists. The City of Mühlhausen invites artists to creatively reinterpret its historic old town through light art, projections, and videomapping — as part of the 2025 commemorative program "freiheyt 1525 – 500 Years of the Peasants’ War". Anyone can apply, the artists get: One of the featured sites, Marienkirche, is part of a competition with a 10,000 Euro prize for the winning videomapping concept. For all other locations, artists are invited to submit a concept along with a budget proposal.

They are looking for accomplished, but relatively unknown, artists whose art discipline benefits the residents of Santa Clara County. Created in honor of their community’s iconic columnist and patron of the arts Leigh Weimers, these cash awards are meant to support and encourage emerging artists. Artists in all genres may apply for this award. Previous awards have ranged between a $1,000 and $5,000 cash prize, and up to four winners will be invited to show their work and/or speak at a lunch meeting of one of the world’s 10 largest Rotary Clubs.

“The Gap Between Art and Life,” is a competitive, southeastern regional exhibition organized by the Webber Gallery of the College of Central Florida. Open to all forms of installation art, the exhibition will present a display of multiple installation works by selected artists. “The Gap Between Art and Life,” will be on view from September 1 – October 16, 2025. The minimal entrance fee covers the online submission process. The jury panel for this exhibition will be composed of former Appleton Museum of Art Curator Leslie Hammond and Current Appleton Assistant Director Victoria Billig, who will be determining what artworks are selected for display in this show, in consultation with the Webber Gallery staff and College of Central Florida Art Faculty.

The Australian Fibre Art Award is a biennial, juried, non-acquisitive competition with a $2,000 first prize. Contemporary artists residing in Australia are invited to submit recent, unseen works made of any fibre-related media. Gallery76, in Sydney’s inner west, will stage an exhibition of the 2025 finalists with the winner announced at the opening event on 30 August 2025. The organisers are ArtWear Publications, an Australian independent publishing company, providing quality magazines for the textile and fibre arts. It is the third time it has held the competition.

ACS is offering a recent graduate the chance to win £6,000 to contribute to the cost of an artist’s studio in a UK city of their choice. ACS is delighted to announce that this year’s Studio Prize will be judged by Victoria Miro, Melanie Gerlis, Hester Westley and Harriet Bridgeman. The McLean County Arts Center is excited to announce an open call for submissions for their upcoming exhibition, "That's Funny". They are looking for work that has wit, irony, and humor. Since 2022, Sedona Arts Center has determined an overarching theme for each year’s exhibits and programs. For the 2025-2026 season, the theme will be FACE. When thinking of the word, FACE, people think of many things. The word FACE can be a noun or a verb and connotes many things. People first think of a person or animal’s actual face – that shows expression or emotion. It could also be the outward aspect of something or the surface or an object, cliff or mountain, building or watch. As a verb, the word takes on motion – as to face something or point in a specific direction or to confront or deal with a situation.

The RAi Residency returns for its second edition — a 12-week programme designed to support artists, curators, and theorists in developing their practice within a studio environment. The residency offers a chance to connect, collaborate, and expand one’s oeuvre through engagement with local communities and institutions. RAi hosts four residents at a time: three artists and one curator or theorist. Emerging artists, curators, and theorists aged 25–40 working in the visual arts, including digital, traditional, new media, video, and photography.

Abstract art only! Artwork must be non-representational. No recognizable figures, objects etc. All media welcomed in 2D, 3D and digital media. The Water and Rock Art House is in the beautiful and historical stone, mountain village of Kazaviti on the island of Thasos in the North Aegean in Greece. The residency is open to artists, writers, researchers and scientists who work with the themes of nature as well as to yoga practioners who want to work on their self practice. They want to bring awareness to the beauty and importance of the fauna and flora of the island in an aim to build a greater sense of interdependence.
