The intention of the call is not to drive the work, but to spark an impetus, and discover unique visions to showcase. ALL MEDIUMS are welcome. Mark making is an integral part of the creative process & the evidence of the artist’ hand is paramount. Successful works seem to be enlivened by these marks (whether abstract or representational). This call emphasizes the process with a focus on the individual style (whether impassioned, studied, or subdued). What kind of marks and/or mediums do you use? Or perhaps you see the theme as a chance to express art as a metaphor for life itself & our relationship to this driving force? What is art in the 21st century?
The discourse on the nature of art in the 21st century has never been more intriguing. While some creators remain firmly rooted in the traditions of their craft, others boldly venture into uncharted territories, invoking a constant debate around the central question - What Is Art? What makes it valuable?
In the modern art world, it's evident that success doesn't adhere to a single style or approach. The diverse paths taken by some of the world's most renowned and affluent artists underscore the idea that every unique style of art can become valuable.
'Art' is not an easily defined concept. This is why we've invited two of the world's leading art thinkers to share their insights at the opening event of this exhibition on the 8th of September:
Yuxi Wang, International Project Director from Shanghai Himalayas Museum, and Anthony Fawcett, art critic and historian from Oxford University.
Yuxi Wang's vast experience as an International Project Director at a renowned museum equips her with a deep understanding of global art trends and practices. Her insights will be invaluable, providing us a unique perspective on the diverse world of contemporary art.
A highly respected art critic and historian, Anthony Fawcett is renowned for his collaborations with iconic artists such as Man Ray, John Lennon, Yoko Ono, and Andy Warhol. His significant contributions to the "Anthony Fawcett Archive" project with the Tate Gallery further enhance his status. His insights into "What Is Art?" are sure to be invaluable.
This exhibition is designed not merely to showcase art but to stimulate conversation between divergent paths within contemporary art. The aim is to prove that success in the art world is not a monolithic concept but a spectrum of possibilities, each as valid and valuable as the next.

The Art Gallery at Western Wyoming Community College is pleased to accept submissions for Contemporary Drawing. Drawing occupies a unique space in the contemporary art world. The immediacy of many drawing media can allow for an expressiveness that is often difficult to capture in other artistic disciplines. Historically, drawn works have occupied a place of lesser value or significance than works of other media. Cotemporary art and artists, however, challenge this notion. Contemporary Drawing will showcase works that speak to current issues, explore fresh perspectives within the discipline, or generally demonstrate the breadth of possibilities available while working--either partially or fully--within the idiom of drawing.
An international call for artists who include drawing processes in their work. This exhibition will showcase how traditional drawing approaches are being expanded on to give voice to a wide spectrum stylistic and conceptual outcomes.

Color has always possessed a dual nature, representing the heights of feeling and emotion while at the same time seen as a scientific, empirical phenomenon, arising from the physical world. Color, as an independent visual language, exploded in contemporary art, moving beyond the binary of spiritual truth and nature, and into the worlds of advertisement, repetition, and digital life more broadly. What is the role of color today? Site:Brooklyn is looking for artists whose work engages with this question.

Our world is in a state of flux. With paradigm shifts in recent years, we’ve had to adapt to major changes, both individually and societally. Art serves as a form of personal expression and a means of engaging with current events as people try to navigate and make sense of their surroundings. Like a dance that accompanies a piece of music, visual art is always evolving and reflects one's life experiences and worldview.
In its purest form, movement in art refers to the path that a viewer's eyes follow through a piece. Artists use movement to guide the viewer's gaze toward focal points, using lines, edges, shapes, and colors within and beyond the artwork. Movement can push boundaries or create more defined ones. This Call for Entry seeks to explore the diverse forms of movement in art.
