The Tidal Shift Award aims to leverage the power of socially-aware artworks, awarding and platforming teenagers and young adults who are focused on solutions for climate change. Currently accepting submissions of artworks that relate to the climate crisis through theme, subject matter, solutions, and more. Artists between the ages 14-22 are eligible to apply. Young artists of any ethnic or racial identity, gender identity, sexual orientation and ability are encouraged to apply.

This thematic exhibition is based on art inspired by nature and biology. Eligible are all art forms relating to, or gaining inspiration from nature and biology. Including but not limited to: landscape, fruits, vegetables, flowers, fauna, biological science and human figuration in the context of nature and biology. All media acceptable.

Art in the Park seeks proposals for site-specific or site-adaptive immersive art installations to be installed for the weekend of June 3-4, 2023 as part of the annual Art in the Park event. This year’s event aims to cultivate a more immersive experience, offering guests spaces throughout the event to interact with large-scale experiential and/or participatory works.

The theme for this year’s installations is Whimsical Forest. Artists considering applying should use the following ideas to guide them in their submissions:

Whimsy: Playful, colorful, fanciful, amusing

Magic: Powerful, mysterious, exciting, influential

Nature: Flora and fauna, growth, life-cycles, and environment

Density: Networks, roots and branchs, fullness, layering

GUIDELINES:
Interested artists should fill out the online application form and be prepared to provide basic information including: contact information, bio, CV, and website. As well as: 3-5 examples of previous work; 2-3 sketches/samples of work proposed for Art in the Park; brief description of the project clearly stating the site, how it will be installed, and what materials are needed to create the project (if any) that CAL can help secure.

All installations must be firmly secured to the site, weather proof, available to be installed on June 2rd, and remain on site June 3 & 4, de-installed on the evening of the 4th. No balloons please.

Webb School of Knoxville is inviting applications from visiting artists for our 2023-2024 artist-in-residence program. Artists work with our students part time and in their own studios part time. Artists are asked to mount an exhibition and donate a representative piece upon completion of their residency. In exchange, artists are provided a public studio space, housing, travel expenses and $60000 stipend.

Art Rapids is seeking Artist applications for original sculptures of size, weight, and material suited to an outdoor park setting. The sculptures will be exhibited at Elk Rapids Day Park, owned by Antrim County and located in Elk Rapids, Michigan. Monmouth University is committed to change! They have dedicated spaces to display jury-selected artwork in every academic building to ensure everyone in the Monmouth University community will see themselves represented and celebrated within the halls.

La Napoule Art Foundation and Fondation David R. Graham are pleased to bring together Canadian artists of all genres to a new residency program in which artists will receive inspiration, support, and opportunities for career growth, while strengthening the intercultural connection between Canada and France.
LNAF will host Canadian artists in month-long residencies to take place in 2 cohorts (10 artists per) annually. Canadian resident artists’ works will be shared and promoted through exhibitions at the Château.

The 2023 Foto Forum Santa Fe Photography Award is accepting entries from December 9th, 2022 through March 5th, 2023 at 12pm MT, with results announced in mid-April and the show to open June 2nd, 2023. Photographers are invited to submit up to twelve images from a related body of work that is ready for exhibition. This year's Jurors will choose the winner based on creativity, cohesion, maturity, and quality of the work.

Loveland Art in Public Places (AIPP) seeks an artist or design team to create sound-diffusing artwork on a wall in the Devereaux Room at the Rialto Theater. The intent of this project is to manage the sound in the room and create a visually appealing focal point. The room is multi-functional, and the artwork will be on the west wall, usually the backdrop for presentations, a retractable screen is also sometimes lowered in front of it. The surface area is 37’ 3” L x 10’ 3” H x 5” D. The total square footage for this project is approximately 370 sq. ft. 

The Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE), the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT), and the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) invite professional artists and artist teams with a demonstrated history of completing complex, permanent, outdoor public art projects to submit their qualifications for a $750,000 public art commission for the new CTA State and Lake Station to be built on the Loop elevated tracks at the intersection of State and Lake Streets in downtown Chicago. Construction is scheduled to begin in Summer of 2023.

The MLK Park Commons includes a walking trail and grass recreation area. The primary access point is via a paved path extending west from the Entry Plaza on the other side of a small bridge spanning a headwater tributary of Lamprey Creek.

The primary goals of this artwork are to: Reference meaningful connections between culture, history and the natural world, provide open-ended, creative, and surprising environments that emphasize freedom and discover, and celebrate the spirit, values and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “Beloved Community.”

The art chosen for this location may be singular or multifaceted. The commission will be awarded to one artist or artist team with a budget not to exceed $150,000. The budget includes artist fees, fabrication, insurance, shipping, travel, installation, documentation, and any other project-related costs. National artist and artist teams are eligible to apply. Up to 5 finalists will be selected. These finalists will be invited to a site visit, and awarded up to $1200.00 to cover costs associated with proposal preparation.

Logan Circle Community Association, in partnership with Logan Circle Main Streets and the developers of LIZ –- Whitman-Walker and Five Squares Development, (aka the Partnership), is seeking an artist experienced in designing and fabricating large-scale outdoor public art to create a sculpture that will be installed on a plinth at the northwest corner of 14th and R Streets, NW, outside of LIZ in the Logan Circle neighborhood. This block of 14th Street, NW, with its wider sidewalks and landscaping, was designed as part of LIZ to be an inviting community space.  The project is contingent on receiving grant funding, which members of the Partnership plan to seek from one or more sources.

Berkeley Arts Council announces a call to artists for a juried art exhibition, April 5 - May 13, 2023, at Berkeley Art Works in Martinsburg, West Virginia. $1,000 in awards. Juror: Judith Becker. The exhibit has the theme 'Art and Earth: My Art - My World'. Entries should reflect the artist's view of nature, the environment, or reflect an Earth Day-related theme. The exhibit is open to all visual artists throughout the continental United States, over the age of 18, working in any fine art or fine craft medium or technique, in 2- or 3-dimensions, representational, abstract, or non-representational. Entries must be original works of art that have been completed within the last 3 years and have not been exhibited previously at Berkeley Art Works.
