Foundwork Artist Prize

The Foundwork Artist Prize is an unrestricted $10,000 juried grant to be awarded in October, 2019 to an outstanding US-based artist chosen on Foundwork, a new platform connecting artists and collaborators across the global contemporary art community. The winner will also receive a studio visit with each of the five jurors to cultivate a dialogue around the winner’s practice. In addition, two runners up will each receive free lifetime accounts on Foundwork.

Innovate Grant – Summer Call for Artists & Photographers

Innovate Grant is now accepting submissions for Summer 2019! Innovate Grant awards (2) $550.00 grants each quarter, to one visual artist and one photographer. In addition to receiving a grant award, winners will be featured and recognized on their website and join a growing community of vibrant and talented artists.

WHO: Visual artists and photographers worldwide, 18 years and older

John Simon Guggenheim Foundation Fellowships

The Foundation offers Fellowships to further the development of scholars and artists by assisting them to engage in research in any field of knowledge and creation in any of the arts, under the freest possible conditions.

WHO: Visual artists from the U.S. and Canada.

AMOUNT: The amounts of grants vary, and the Foundation does not guarantee it will fully fund any project.

FINE PRINT: On the application, you must include a chronological list of shows, citing dates and places, and a list of collections in which your work is represented. 3rd Annual Skies Art Competition

For this competition, both 2D & 3D artists are encouraged to submit their best art and photography depicting the sky. The theme includes any depiction of the skies, including clouds, rainbows, aurorae, lightning, precipitation and storms, stars, planets, moon, celestial events, the night sky, the day sky, dusk and dawn - just as long as the sky is the primary focus.

Sanctuary Cities and the Politics of the American Dream

Creative Arts Workshop invites artists to explore the concept of sanctuary and its attendant concerns: issues of place, dislocation, migration, human rights and morality, cultural identity and belonging.

Everyday Objects

Every day we are surrounded by objects that we have relationships with – physical relationships, psychological relationships, sensory relationships. Found-object artists investigate these relationships; exploring the inherent beauty in objects and how these objects can have meaning shared by the collective memory of our culture/society. Studio Montclair is looking for artwork that celebrates the found object.

NYC Art Show “Fresh Blood” – International Open Call

FRESH BLOOD is an international open call exhibition opportunity hosted by PROTO GOMEZ, a storefront contemporary art gallery, located in the Two-Bridges neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. FRESH BLOOD as an art show, seeks to showcase exciting and innovative contemporary art, produced in a variety of media.

BBA Photography Prize

Every October during Berlin Photo Week BBA Gallery holds their Fine Art Photography Prize competition. The winner will be promoted by BBA Gallery for one year and will be selected by a jury of professionals, who look for the most innovative concept, aesthetical language and unique approach within the medium.

Artrooms Fair Award

The Artrooms Awards features the awarding of over £ 50.000 worth in prizes, the organization of a major collective exhibition at the Melia White House in London, exhibitions in international art galleries, collaborations with companies, art residencies, website inclusion, and the publication of the Catalogue.

ABOUT FUTURE Call for Exhibition

"Future" as a concept connected to the world of ideas, the ones which envisage the events, that invent new realities - fantastic or science fiction, or those that if adaptable to the real world, through the means and the will to implement them, end up shaping the environment in which the living being is immersed. In the "About Future" exhibition, LoosenArt will collect works that are able to offer new visions on the future, through expressive methods that engage both the traditional use of the photographic media and that of digital manipulation, graphic and visual design.

“Forgotten” Exhibition

The SE Center is looking for all forms of imagery of the Forgotten, black-and-white and color, analog, digital or antique processes. The Forgotten, people, places and belongings that once mattered, that have been left behind. Things once being of importance to humans …personal items, homes, special places, letters, etc.  Anything that has been left behind or replaced. Any object, being, place or property that once had the importance to another.

For this exhibition, we would like to see the most special places you have ever been to! Process Gallery Exhibition Open Call

We are currently inviting contributions from artists and creatives of all abilities to submit work to our first Open Call, which will launch our forthcoming exhibition this October and will also correspond to the opening of the Turner Prize 2019 at Turner Contemporary. Your ‘process’ must be integral to your practice and proposal, and can include but is not limited to; sculpture, installations, paintings, prints and photographs.

7th Annual “ALL Color” Online Art Competition 2019

The “ALL Color” theme is an open subject competition with a concentration on color. Artists should submit their best representational or non-representational art related to the "ALL Color" theme.  A group exhibition of all entrants will be held online at the Contemporary Art Gallery Online following the close of the competition for thirty days.

The Golden Triangle Business Improvement District (BID) and the Smithsonian American Women’s History Initiative invite you to submit your qualifications to be considered for a public art project to be installed along Connecticut Avenue in 2020. We’re seeking one project that aims to pay tribute to women and their history in our shared public spaces.

9 for 19 Exhibition

First Street Gallery announces a unique exhibition opportunity, “9 for 19.” The show will highlight a select group of nine artists, who will have an exhibition area of approximately 12’ x 12’ of wall space (not necessarily contiguous). Artists with 3D work will be given the equivalent amount of floor space. Selected artists may, within reason, use their space in whatever manner they feel shows their work to its best advantage.

Transformations 2019

The very successful TRANSFORMATIONS Exhibition is returning for its fourth year to the Pennsylvania Center for Photography. The Arts Council of Martin County, the local non-profit arts agency, invites artists to apply to be an exhibitor at our 2020 ArtsFest. ArtsFest has an attendance of 15,000+ visitors in beautiful Memorial Park in Downtown Stuart, FL. A hometown celebration of local arts and culture, the 2-day event provides the area with exceptional fine art and fine craft exhibitors, culinary arts, hands-on activities for the family, and a variety of live musical and theatrical performances.

Kristallnacht

Kristallnacht, meaning the “Night of Broken Glass” occurred in Germany, Nov. 9 & 10, 1938. Kristallnacht owes its name to the shards of shattered glass that lined German streets in the wake of the Nazis’s who had torched synagogues, vandalized Jewish homes, schools and businesses destroyed during the violence. It also marked the turning point from Jewish oppression by the Nazis to the violence and destruction of the Jewish European population. This exhibit is about standing up to oppression of any kind – religious, gender, age, race, or ethnicity.

The call for submissions to the 10th annual juried Figureworks Prize and award show is now open. Figureworks is a celebration of the art of the human form, held in Canada’s capital, Ottawa. Keyholder Printmaking Studio Residency

Lower East Side Printshop, NY, offers emerging artists FREE year-long studio residencies to develop new work and foster their artistic careers. Printmaking facilities are available for intaglio, relief, monotype, water-based silkscreen, digital processes, and other techniques that employ the tools at hand. Keyholders work independently in the Printshop’s shared Artists’ Studio and have access to a vibrant community of peers. 

WHO: U.S. artists from all disciplines are eligible to apply; printmaking skills are not required, but some familiarity with the medium is recommended.

There is significant and underestimated beauty in the north at this time of the year. The winter months in Iceland are very conducive to creativity and focussed work. The Banff Artist in Residence program allows participants to delve deeply into their practice while away from the constraints of everyday life. Participants are provided with a studio, accessible 24 hours a day, as well as access to our extensive facilities.

PINEA A.I.R. Artist in Residence Program

PINEA A.I.R. is an Artist in Residence Program run by the private non-profit organization Linea de Costa. PINEA A.I.R. is a place for artistic research, production, and exhibition. It aims to stimulate creativity through interaction with the local environment & territory, artists and cultural institutions and seeks to foster cross-cultural relations between participants and the local community.

Winter Holidays at Hawaii Volcanoes ($2000 Stipend) 2019-2020

The epic volcanic explosion has subsided, the park is open again and NOW is the time to artistically interpret this magnificent world wonder. NPAF is now offering WINTER HOLIDAYS Hawaii Volcanoes National Park residencies, and close to some of the best beaches on the island. For a one-month term in December 2019 - Early January 2020. The residency includes a $2000 stipend, a studio, housing, events, a Dolphin & Manta Ray Excursion and much more…the chance of a lifetime for Artists!

Revisiting the Roaring Twenties: Art, Culture and the Ecole de Paris

The idea of this residency is to revisit and develop the open and creative energy of the 1920s as well as the spirit of solidarity and unity that allowed arts community to thrive in the heart of France and of Europe during this politically and socially strained war-torn period. During the residency period, artists will exchange ideas with their fellow residents from other countries, participate in relevant professional development events and showcase their work.

OBRAS-Holland

OBRAS-Holland offers (emerging) professional artists an inspiring residency in a spacious mansion in which one or two artists live and work largely on their own. It is located at the edge of a pleasant village surrounded by nature, with good connections to bigger cities. Several museums and other cultural highlights are in the direct surroundings (doable with an easy bike ride).

GlogauAIR Multidisciplinary Residency in Berlin

Centered on principles of exploration, creation, and exhibition, the residency program offers the use of a studio space in a historic building in Berlin and a base in Kreuzberg from which to explore and discover the creative side of the city. Production is a key component of a residency at GlogauAIR, and all residents are expected to come prepared with a specific project and to concentrate their time on executing it during their residency.

DURATION: Either 3 or 6 months

LOCATION: Berlin, Germany

Solo Artist Residency in London

Unit 1 Gallery | Workshop is offering one artist access for three months to one of its spectacular 350 square foot studio spaces for free, with both natural and professional lighting. Working above the gallery space, the successful applicant has the opportunity to network with artists, curators, collectors, and the wider public whilst visiting ongoing exhibitions and events organized in the gallery.

LOCATION: London, England

2020 Post-Graduation Residency

The Torpedo Factory Post-Grad Residency is a competitive juried program that provides meaningful support and 3-month term solo studio space. This residency is open to recently-graduated students who earned a bachelor’s or master’s art degree from an accredited university.

2020 Golden Foundation Residency Sessions

With a greater array of materials available to artists than ever before, this is an exciting time in art history. The Golden Foundation Residency Program is specifically designed to assist the professional artist in discovering and exploring the many materials and technologies available today. Through the Golden Foundation, residents will have the unparalleled opportunity to work with dozens of unique materials and technologies.

DATES: The Golden Foundation will be offering six Exploratory Residency Program sessions this year. Each session will last four weeks, with up to three artists per session. See dates here.

LOCATION: New Berlin, NY

DEADLINE: September 23, 2019 

FINE PRINT: Residency is free to attend. Artists are responsible for their food expense and preparation as well as travel expenses to and from the residency. Artists should plan to bring their own tools, canvas, and paper. Learn more here.

 

2019 Cohort for Artist-Run Contemporary Art Education

The Other MA (TOMA) is a 12-month artist-run education model set up in 2016 to offer responsive, affordable, accessible art education to artists. TOMA is looking for 12 artists to join the program for 2019/2020. TOMA artists are makers + doers; active learners who want to be part of a community of artists working together. TOMA wants to eradicate the pupil-teacher hierarchy, choosing instead to put emphasis on learning together, failing together + succeeding as a group.
