Feature Release: Online Exhibitions and Exhibit Archive for Organizations

Elysian Koglmeier | April 18, 2021 (Updated September 20, 2022)

Create virtual exhibitions, manage upcoming shows, and archive past exhibits all from your Artwork Archive account.

Artwork Archive just made the process of exhibiting art a lot easier with its Exhibitions tool—whether you're on-site or working remotely. Continue creating access to your permanent collection, temporary exhibitions and other arts programming, all while keeping everything organized internally.

Here's what's new:

Create Online Exhibitions

Make virtual exhibits and share them on your Public Profile.

For over a year, arts organizations have struggled to find ways to make their artworks and programming more accessible. We've developed a number of tools to help you share your art—website embeds, interactive maps, Private Rooms, etc.. And with the Exhibitions release, you can easily stand up a show in no time.

Now you can create an online exhibition directly from your Artwork Archive account. All of your artworks, artists and educational materials can be accessed from your account and shared in a virtual exhibit. Make the experience more dynamic by including curator and artist interviews, guided tours, and additional marketing materials like press releases.

"Artwork Archive made it possible to exponentially expand our outreach and has made it possible to present our Winter Park Paint Out event virtually during this challenging time"  Debbie Komanski, CEO/Executive Director of the Polasek Museum.

Virtual exhibitions can also be used in tandem with your physical shows. "We are looking forward to being back in the gallery. And I am sure that we will continue to use Artwork Archive to streamline our process and produce virtual exhibits in tandem with our eventual return to the in-person shows,” shares the Rockville Art League.

Manage Upcoming Shows

Give your curators and other colleagues the tools to organize upcoming shows, collaboratively.

You may not be on-site yet or looking at a hybrid model for work. We just gave you and your colleagues the tools to plan for an exhibition whether it is on-site, online or traveling. Keep track of artworks, contacts, deadlines, important documents like loan agreements and exhibition checklists. Keep colleagues on task by using the Artwork Archive Schedule.

And with the Artist Submission Form (another tool in your Artwork Archive account), artists can submit artworks directly into your account, and thus to the exhibitions. Saving you lots of time and back-and-forth.

Archive Past Exhibits

Document historical exhibitions and preserve an archive of your organization's legacy.

Don't lose track of the wonderful exhibitions you've produced in the past. We know how much time and effort goes into creating an exhibit. Ensure that they live on within your Artwork Archive account. You can post them on your Public Profile or easily share the information with colleagues, researchers, students, and community members with Exhibition Reports.

“It is great to have such a simple system that holds a lot of power to connect the public and staff to the Museum's Collection.” San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles

Don't waste money on other services.

There is no additional fee for the Exhibitions tool when you have an Artwork Archive Organization account.

We believe every arts organization should have the tools to continue engaging with and delivering impact to their communities.
