First off the easel in 2026! I started this painting in the Bryan Gallery Stowe location late in 2024 at a public event and just finished it this week. This view is so inspiring. Once I fought my way through scrub and 8 foot tall weeds, I finally found a spot to get this view of Mansfield through a gap in some trees holding my camera up high. The sun was just going down, Twenty minutes later there was nothing noteworthy about this view. Passing it many times before it never caught my attention. Timing! On this day from the road I could only see a hint of the light catching the tops of some trees and the mountain behind. I knew I had maybe 5 minutes before the light would change. That's all it took.
