I've wanted to paint this piece taken from a photo I shot along the Cape Cod National Sea Shore several years ago. Different from my usual subject matter, I am drawn to the tangle of bare branches punctuated by the brilliant winterberries. The Mytle Warbler with its splash of yellow compliments the berries beautifully. This little warbler appears to be anticipating spring almost as much as I was during the painting of this piece in March.
