Early in my painting career I painted this view from a slightly different angle, in acrylics. I actually won an award for that painting. The view is nothing all that notable, old beaver ponds along Underhill Flats, but something about these stately old, now dead, trees catches my imagination.
So here it is again, in a small format, with the trees now the center of attention with those bright red berry bushes at their feet. How long will they stand against the brutal winters in Vermont? I don't know. But I always welcome the sight of them.
